How Did You Break Your Arm?

A friend just got back from a holiday ski trip to Utah with the kind
of story that warms the cockles of anybody's heart. Conditions were
perfect, 12 below, no feeling in the toes, basic numbness all over,
"tell me when we're having fun" kind of day.
One of the women in the group complained to her husband that she
was in dire need of a restroom. He told her not to worry, that he
was sure there was relief waiting at the top of the lift in the form
of a powder room for female skiers in distress. He was wrong, of
course, and the pain did not go away.
If you've ever had nature hit its panic button in you, then you know
that a temperature of 12 below zero doesn't help matters. So, with
time running out, the woman weighed her options. Her husband,
picking up on the intensity of the pain, suggested that since she
was wearing an all white ski outfit, she should go off in the woods. No
one would even notice, he assured her. The white would provide more than
adequate camouflage.So she headed for the tree line, began disrobing
and proceeded to do her thing.
If you've ever parked on the side of a slope, then you know there is
a right way and a wrong way to "set" your skis so you don't move.
Yup, you got it. She had them positioned the wrong way. Steep slopes are not
forgiving, even during embarrassing moments. Without warning, the woman found
herself skiing backward, out of control, racing through the trees,
somehow missing all of them, and onto another slope. Her derriere
and the reverse side were still bare, her pants down around her knees,
and she was picking up speed all the while. She continued on backward,
totally out of control, creating an unusual vista for other skiers.
The woman skied, if you define that verb loosely, back under the
lift, and finally collided violently with a pylon. The bad news was that
she broke her arm and was unable to pull up her ski pants. At long last
her husband arrived, put an end to her nudie show, then went to the base
of the mountain and summoned the ski patrol, who transported her to
the hospital.

Yeah, no doubt. Did the back of the house and the garage in 2011, cause it looked really bad. Been putting off doing the rest because a) it didn't look as bad, and b) because it's a giant pain in the ass. But since it's not as much to do, hopefully we get it done over the weekend. Though, when I went to Lowe's yesterday to get paint and new house numbers, they only had one 1, and I need 2. Gotta stop at a different Lowe's on the way home from work. Hopefully, that's not a precursor of things to come. Haha.

My house is small and I'm probably on the smallest lot in my town but I like it. My wife disagrees and is constantly looking online for something new. I hope she finds something she likes in her budget. I ain't leavin'! My house is brick and was built in '32. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

That was me testing something. Yesterday, I made it so that the SPAMbots couldn't create a calendar entry. However, NJDave created a new one and they promptly replied to it. So I made a change that doesn't allow newbies to do anything but "see" the calendar. Therefore, they have to get in 50 posts on the regular banter page first. I'm hoping that will help.

Enjoy By is decent but it's no Sculpin. Everyone here raves about the IPAs put out by Alpine Beer Company but I haven't thought they were anything special.

Passed it up in the smoke down but I smoke a lot of strong cigars such as the LGC Serie R Maduro's and LFD Double Ligeros but these Pinolero's I got will run with any of them.

Oklahoma Joes in Kansas City is the best Mid Western area BBQ I found by a large margin. I think Texas is the best brisket with no close second and Memphis the best ribs with no close second. There is one little place in North Louisiana with some killer ribs though.

I have been to about a dozen of them around the country in my business travels and most were not very good at all and also most of them seem to specialize in bad service. I actually went to two of them, both in Omaha, that I would not park my car and get out the neighborhoods were so bad. Some locals told me they would not even drive down the street where one of them was. That said I have been to quite a few Man vs Food places and all were good and several were really good. Best sandwich I have had anywhere is at one of his places in Charleston, SC. One of them has been at Pappy's but can't remember which one. Another place in St Louis on Man vs Food called Crown Candy Company has a one pound bacon sandwich that is wonderful and great milkshakes. That would be th one he puked at trying to drink a couple of gallons of milkshakes. Me I had a Malt and the bacon sandwich then had a stroke 2 days later. Fortunately a mild warning event which made me discontinue such endeavors.

Not a bad smoke and has improved some with time, have not tested them in a few months. Burn is excellent. They have them on the Summer Kickoff Sale 25 for $70 but don't recall the size. Certainly a decent yard gar or fishing gar.

What field you working in? I used to captain the bigger crew boats 20 or so years ago. Excellent snapper fishing out there then. There used to be a rig exactly 11 miles out of South Pass right on the shelf drop off had the best fishing anywhere ever.

There was not much out in Green Canyon 20 years ago, that stated about 15 yrs ago, when some Oil Companies started drilling in Deep-Water. I am on a SPAR floating production platform--Green Canyon 205.

TXDave, that menu & the beer look great. problem is, that I will be 300 miles from New Orleans visiting my daughter. Warden, on the other hand will be there with her slut friends, so I may forward it to her. What field you working in? I used to captain the bigger crew boats 20 or so years ago. Excellent snapper fishing out there then. There used to be a rig exactly 11 miles out of South Pass right on the shelf drop off had the best fishing anywhere ever.
TXDave, I know where that is. I crew change out of Leeville, La. between Golden Meadow, and Fourchon. There was not much out in Green Canyon 20 years ago, that stated about 15 yrs ago, when some Oil Companies started drilling in Deep-Water. I am on a SPAR floating production platform--Green Canyon 205.
I have run some smaller boats out of Leeville when I first started. Do you still have to stop in Golden Meadow and pick up your speeding ticket each trip? I have been to Green Canyon on fishing boats and crew boats. Shell had a drill ship working out there for a long time. Used to be the hottest Marlin Fishing area in the Gulf and may still be. I got too old for long offshore poundings just do flats fishing now. My wife's company has a rig operating in 3000 feet of water in the Mississippi Canyon going down about 31,500 feet.
