Cough
-------------------------

The owner of a drugstore walks in to find a guy leaning heavily against a
wall with an odd look on his face.

The owner asks the clerk, "What's with that guy over there by the wall?"

The clerk says, "Well, he came in here at 7 A.M. to get something for his
cough. I couldn't find the cough syrup, so I gave him an entire bottle of
laxatives."

The owner says, "You idiot! You can't treat a cough with laxatives!"

The clerk says, "Oh yeah? Look at him-he's afraid to cough!"

Good morning, men.
Morning, Captain.
I'm off this week. Home project is under way. So .
So instead of going to work you are working at home for the Warden, good fuk'n luck.
The good news is she's afraid of the basement, so hopefully I won't see her too much.

Good morning, men.
Morning Uncle Tone.
How's the bathroom coming, Mark? Getting ready to finish a basement here. Just completely clearing it out for now. Eventually, the bathroom will be built.
A couple of towel bars (on order) and f'n crown molding left to finish.  And the wife still has to pick out some mirrors.  And two medicine cabinets.  And, and, and......
I hear ya. I've done quite a bit of crown molding work. It's a pain in the ass. The secret is building a good jig so that you cut each piece at the same angle. I have two saws for that. Not sure where either of them are but I suspect I will find them this week.
Jig? We don't need no stinkin' jig!

He's shitting in a dirt hole in the back yard, does that about answer your question?  ;D

If things were any worse, he'd be CG at a bachelor party
Boy, that WOULD be worse.

I cheat and cut it at work.  We have a miter saw table setup which works well. So it's not the cutting part as much as the installing part which sucks. These are cabinets, not wall/ceiling molding.

Morning CG  - How bout that NDS - 5 in a row!
Indeed, glad to see you beat your Gamecocks as well.
Hopefully the big orange can get it done tonight!!!
Sure hope so.
They've got my vote!
I'll refrain from cheering for them, for Dave's sake. If the Bengals and Vikings are any indication, me rooting for a team leads to a painful demise.
No shit right - those Vikings...words can't describe that heartbreak.

Both teams found very Browns ways to lose, no question.

Truth to that - just a bad way to lose.  Didn't score a touchdown all day, hard to blame a kicker who goes 3/4 in sub zero temps all day, but that's the 'life of a kicker'.

I cheat and cut it at work.  We have a miter saw table setup which works well. So it's not the cutting part as much as the installing part which sucks. These are cabinets, not wall/ceiling molding.
Well, that and checking for the this side up arrows....
The warden ordered the cabinets.  I have no idea if they were available with the crown molding pre-installed.  Sorta doubt it, but that would have been the ticket for sure.
No such thing, how would you hang multiples? Rookies, sheesh
Where's logic come into it?
If you are hanging a run of cabinets, or just more than one, how are the cabinets going to butt to each other if crown goes around 3 sides. If crown is only on the fronts, there are seams at every cabinet and how would you return the side to the wall at the end of a run when the fronts are cut square at the end of the cabinet?

How's the bathroom coming, Mark? Getting ready to finish a basement here. Just completely clearing it out for now. Eventually, the bathroom will be built.

This is a bathroom, not a kitchen.  How many friggin cabinets do you have to hang.  What all you storing in there?  Putting in a wardrobe for costumes as well?

Yeah, factory installed would only work on stand-alone cabinets.  And so many varieties of crown molding out there I don't see how a cabinet mfg would offer that option.

Agrees, he's a good punter too - and it sucks cause he was wearing gloves...can't believe he couldn't tough it out for 60seconds and get a proper hold.

Yeah, factory installed would only work on stand-alone cabinets.  And so many varieties of crown molding out there I don't see how a cabinet mfg would offer that option.
Right, not to mention it'd be a packaging/breakage nightmare

Either my normally very reliable watch just died or the one year old 3 year warranty battery quit one of the two.  Always Something!
Since the battery is the same for a 1 year and 3-year warranty and all your doing is buying an insurance policy, take them up on it and get your free replacement!
Oh I will and they are very good about taking care of things just a pain in the ass to go get it done.

Golf goin' for the Oscuros today, huh...
That just means someone else will get a good deal
But a slightly worse deal than I would've gotten.
Somebody currently winning at 34?
Yeah, me. I just meant if they outbid me, they'd get a slightly worse deal. Cause they'd be paying more.
Yea, saw that so I held back.
You're a fine human being. Though, SharkFish may not agree.  8)

I wasn't clear. I was sarcastically saying, where does logic fit into our discussion?

I don't even know. It's a box pressed huge RG without a band. Don't know where it came from. Way too fucking big but it has some nice dark chocolate notes. It stays out of my face while working so it works.

Only a one hour monthly office meeting today, holy cow that is a new record!
Years ago my office of around 36 people (90% women), had a meeting with our Division Head (also a women.)  Coffee, juice, cookies and donuts had been placed out for us.  After 30 minutes and the points of the meeting had been said, the Division Head said, "Are there any other points you would like to go over..?"  With that, the next 2 hours turned into a bitch fest.  Everything from the toilet tissue is not soft enough to, she said, she said, she get's and I don't get, and etc....  After the meeting the Division Head came over to me and said, "Your the only one that didn't have anything to say...!"  I replied, "Well, where else can I get free coffee and juice, eat donuts and cookies, get paid for not working, and get to watch such a fine soap opera for 2 hours...?"  She laughed and said, "You the only one that get's it..."  And we both laughed.

Put an extended magazine in it  ;)  Be aware that deals and selections are neither very good right now!! Ruger SR40 might be a good choice.   I would consider a M&P 40C, FNS 40C, Glock 23.

I am going to send you a link for M&P 40C at the best deal I know of Now at a reputable supplier.

Using a coping saw is a lost art, but I don't like to brag.  ;D
What's a coping saw?
A saw that allows you to cope with even the worst of situations...

He's lost interest already.
Coped many a piece of trim when I remodeled the home.
Was I the only one who had to do a double-take on this sentence? I first read it as "copped many a piece of trim..." and figured I'd better start renovating my house double-quick.
You're probably the only one paying attention.
NO ONE GIVES A CHIT WHO'S PAYING ATTENTION!
All right, who the hell chit in Golfin' Dave's Wheaties this morning??
Honey Nut Cheerios  ;)
Hey, I skipped breakfast...!  Oh, but I did take a shit...
Thanks for saving me the cost of lunch, I was hungry before your post. :)

While not my favorite supplier they are reputable, not sure but I think they charge you a 3% CC Fee but that is still the best deal I know of right now.

GMornin fellas
Morning CG  - How bout that NDS - 5 in a row!
Indeed, glad to see you beat your Gamecocks as well.
Hopefully the big orange can get it done tonight!!!
Sure hope so.
They've got my vote!
I'll refrain from cheering for them, for Dave's sake. If the Bengals and Vikings are any indication, me rooting for a team leads to a painful demise.
No shit right - those Vikings...words can't describe that heartbreak.
#lacesoutdan
Both teams found very Browns ways to lose, no question.
Truth to that - just a bad way to lose.  Didn't score a touchdown all day, hard to blame a kicker who goes 3/4 in sub zero temps all day, but that's the 'life of a kicker'.
And those poor bastiges are usually near the bottom of the pay scale too.
He won them a couple of games this year too, so I hope he is still with the team next year.
The damn holder should be canned. He botched the hold in 3 of the 4 kicks. The kicker was lucky he made anything all day, when you add the shitty holds to the shitty weather.
The kicker shit the bed, nerves got the best of him on that kick. He hurried it and yanked the kick, plain and simple.
Yipped It Left Right?
We call it a 'pull hook' in the golf world

If you meant to do it, call it a draw... when you don't, snap hook.

Hey CG. How's about those BI-Zun! Not even close.
Just remember, it's Bi-Zon not Biceson
and Clem-Son, not Clem-Zen.  (Clemp-Son is also acceptable for old schoolers)
Was one hell of a beatdown! GMornin Steve

I don't want to seem negative but the price of oil is nearing a disaster level!   $31.30/barrel down $1.86 today  and the lowest price since 2003.

Sounds great for filling up your gas tank but there is a limit how low gas can go regardless of the price of oil because refining costs are so high these days.

you can look for more, and even find it, trick is to get the gubmint and eco-peeps to allow you to drill for it.
Oil/gas prices are like investments.  market crashed back in the summer and I (just speaking from personal experience, a few people I spoke with concurred) lost about 5K in my retirement.  market regained all and added to it and I re-gained around 3K.  drop took 2 days, re-gain took 2 months.  recent drop lost me approx 4k.  took 2 days again.  Would be questioning my investment group, but it seems they are not the only ones who are doing this.
Oil works the same.  oil prices go up and price at the pump goes up immediately.  oil prices go down, and it takes weeks for it to reflect.

Modern double-action revolvers use some variation on the transfer-bar mechanism, which prevents the hammer from striking the primer on a cartridge unless the trigger is actually pulled through its full cycle. Striker-fired weapons work roughly the same way - you have to cycle the trigger fully for the mechanism to push the striker block out of the way to allow the striker to contact the primer on the cartridge.

Hammer-fired semiauto pistols have such a light trigger pull when cocked that an external safety is intended to prevent some small inadvertent movement of the trigger or dropping of the weapon from tripping the hammer and firing the pistol. Putting a transfer-type system on such pistols is possible, but it tends to make the action sloppy and heavy because of the need to move the hammer. So positive safeties and decocker systems are used instead.

But a striker pistol doesn't have to move all the mass of a hammer, so a smooth action and a manageable trigger pull can be built without the possibility of an unintended mechanical event firing the weapon.

I agree with your last sentence other than Oil pays a lots of bills around my house, even buys me some cigars for birthdays and fathers days so I hate them all but one! :)

But while they both go up and down and sometimes way up and way down oil is otherwise quite different.  Oil has to be found and produced which is a lengthy process and when prices do like this they quit finding and seriously cut back on producing which is a major undertaking, it is called "shutting in" and is time consuming and very costly in itself so or short term downsides they keep on drilling and producing but for long term or extreme downsides they start shutting in existing wells, stopping drilling on new wells and stop looking and leasing for future wells.  Below $30 for very long and all that will occur which means when the low supply begins to take over it goes ape shit crazy up again because it takes a long time to bring everything back on line.

Older conventional oil costs about $25-30/barrel to produce, newer conventional oil more like $35-45 and Shale oil is more along the lines of $65 to $75.  Deep sea oil is more like $80-90 to produce.  So do the math and see what happens at under $30 for very long, either the supply goes down and the price goes up quick or the companies go broke which is what OPEC is counting on but they might be the first to go broke as they are having to borrow in the bond markets now.

Sounds great for filling up your gas tank but there is a limit how low gas can go regardless of the price of oil because refining costs are so high these days.
Which is why OPEC is willing to loose money and drive the prices down to punish the upstart US market.
When I was a kid, it was called a gas war.  It drove the gas down to an affordable price, and the American Public loved it.  When I filled up the other day, a woman bought $2 worth of gas, and a guy bought $1.76.  I'm sure they are hoping that gas goes back up to $145 a barrel.
Those gas wars were retailers playing games not oil drillers and producers, had virtually nothing to do with the price of oil.
when I grouse about the way oil pricing is handled, it's not at the workers, producers or gas station owners.  it's the leaders of the major companies that make all of the money and screw all of us to do it.  the same people screwing their own workers I might add and taking home millions of dollars in "bonuses" while complaining that they can't make any money in the industry.
Think you could pretty much plug any industry in there and come up with the same observation.
Minus healthcare, it's all legit here.   ;)

Oh yeah we are together on that issue, but no different than any other publicly held company whether they make money or not!   Truthfully a lot of the problem is also the "traders" that fuk with the prices up and down all the time.  Worse than just wall street because these traders are all over the world.

I finally tried that Aging Room Small Batch M356 Rondo, aged 7 weeks without its wrapper, last night.  It was relaxing, as I always enjoy, but it mostly just tasted like aged tobacco very slightly on the strong side.  One dimensional without any added flavors.  It went out twice, and needed a couple of minor corrections.  Over all, I'd rate it, "I'd take one if some one gave it to me, but I'm not going to buy any."  Any other thoughts out there..?

I went to Best Buy the other day to buy a new DVD player.  I went into the tv department where I was approached by a young salesman.  He asked me if he could help me and I replied, "I would like to buy a new DVD player."  He said, "What...?"  Again I said, "I would like to buy a new DVD player."  He looked at me and shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, but I don't know what you are talking about..?"  I said, "I think I'm saying it right, it's a DVD player.  You put little DVD movies into it, and you can watch movies on your tv.."  He said, "Oh....., you want a Blue Ray Player...!"

It's really starting to get weird.  The older I get the faster my words are become obsolete, and causing me a big communications problem.

I think the next time this happens to me, I'm going to say, "Aaaaaa, the new word for DVD player is Blue Ray.  What do they call Pussy..?"

Me too.   I asked for a simple straight forward small sized DVD Player for Christmas to watch my old b&w tv show dvd's on and Warden picked me up a sony one somewhere but it was just wha ti needed.  Play, FF, Back-Up and stop with a simple remote, hdmi slot and only an inch or so thick and about a foot wide at most.

Although, with the pending Ultra HD on it's way, Blueray is probably the safer option since standard DVD's will soon be obsolete. You can still play standard definition on Blueray, and most will up-convert them.

Many of the Aging Room receive very favorable reviews by "the biz" including people who I generally agree with.  I thought them very ordinary with no particularly interesting features and below average construction and burn.  Just as with the Stogie Guys article for today, different tastes!

They are all DVD's.  There are subformats/variants like Blu-Ray, 3D, Ultraviolet etc.  Blu-Ray presents a higher resolution than regular DVDs and generally costs a few dollars more.  Being as you never got around to getting the new TV, Blu-Ray difference would not be perceptible to you.

Just like going to the movie theater and choosing between regular, 3D, Imax, RealD, 3D Imax HD and whatever.

Yes, I removed the cellophane before placing it into the humidor for 7 weeks of aging.  It was the 5 Vegas Gold that I had to scotch tape the outer Connecticut wrapper back on before smoking it.

Try and find a DVD player in a store anymore. Blu-Ray players will play DVD's, so actual DVD players are going extinct. But yeah, the employee was either a dick, clueless, or both.

That's weird. As far as I know, they're still called DVDs. Blu-ray is a bit different. I suspect your salesperson was a dick.
Actually, the salesman was pretty nice.  He seemed honestly to have not understood the term.  He also smelled very nice, but I figured I'd keep that to myself.  After I left I could still smell him for the remainder of the day.  I guess I must have been standing too close...?
You're making me uncomfortable.

I got a Sony too (BDP-S6500) for $99.99.  Since I've still not purchased a new tv as I said I was going to do last year at this time, I made sure it had all the features.  Wi-Fi wireless streaming, 4k upgrading, and 3D.  I think it will convert a 2D to a 3D..?  I hooked it up to Netflix on the tv in the bedroom (HD), and it was very impressive.  Now I'm going to have to watch that program on Netflix that everyone has been pissed off about, "Making a Murder."  As for as the new tv, that's an unknown.

Many of the Aging Room receive very favorable reviews by "the biz" including people who I generally agree with.  I thought them very ordinary with no particularly interesting features and below average construction and burn.  Just as with the Stogie Guys article for today, different tastes!
http://www.stogieguys.com/2016/01/01112016-commentary-checking-the-year-end-cigar-lists.html
It sounds like we all agree on this one.  Thank god I was able to agree on at least one cigar..  ;)

got my 2nd box of BV's.  I had one on Saturday and it smoked ok as well.  No big change in the flavor profile in a week but not unpleasant.  still a bit mild for my tastes, but will probably make a good morning smoke.  Very bland on light up, but it does pick up some when you get about 3/4" into it.

I went to my friends party, and there was about 30 or 40 people there.  I had to use the bathroom, and I noticed a bottle of Polo sitting there.  I thought to myself, "No one will notice," so I splashed some on.  I'm not sure if any of you have smelled Polo before, but you can smell this stuff a mile away.  I walked back into the crowded room, and everyone turned and looked at me, and they all damn well knew what I had done...  So if you go to a party and see Polo sitting on the counter, "Don't do it...!"

I received a coupon from Honda today for $100 off a remote car starter.  I called them and the normal price was $675, but with the coupon it would be $575.  That seems sort of high, but I'd love to have one.

You don't turn blu-ray on or off.  It's the reader internal to the device that when you use a blu-ray DVD it gives you greater clarity in your picture.  (Blue laser vs red).  You might mean Bluetooth?

They are all DVD's.  There are subformats/variants like Blu-Ray, 3D, Ultraviolet etc.  Blu-Ray presents a higher resolution than regular DVDs and generally costs a few dollars more.  Being as you never got around to getting the new TV, Blu-Ray difference would not be perceptible to you.

Just like going to the movie theater and choosing between regular, 3D, Imax, RealD, 3D Imax HD and whatever.
Along with that, I'd like to meet the individuals who also gave us dvdr + and dvdr-   and made THEM differenf for some reason, along with blu ray and death ray and ray ray.... sheesh.
Ya doesn't have to call him Johnson. You can call him Jay. Or you can call him Ray. Or you can call him Ray Ray or Ray Jay...

Mine is a Sony, cost $29 at Walmart she said, has no bells and whistles and does everything I need which is play my shows when I push the button..  I got some kind of fancy smancy blu ray on another tv that I can't even figure out how to turn on and off.  Warden and the boy use to use it but chit she can barely turn the tv on and off so it just sits collects dust.
You don't turn blu-ray on or off.  It's the reader internal to the device that when you use a blu-ray DVD it gives you greater clarity in your picture.  (Blue laser vs red).  You might mean Bluetooth?
I think he meant on and off as in cycling the power.
Then we have bigger problems!   ;)

That's weird. As far as I know, they're still called DVDs. Blu-ray is a bit different. I suspect your salesperson was a dick.

That was according to Kelly and Michael this morning. But I just checked it out and it looks like it's a once in a year lottery that they start selling in July and the drawing is December 22nd. I believe the figure I gave you was for all the prizes combined. You can purchase the tickets online through http://www.elgordo.com/shop/play_elgordo.asp.

Decided to start my chores with bringing in the Christmas lights... While smoking a yard gar.
Better late than never. What are you smoking?
This post was bothering me so I decided it had to be addressed. WTF? Is it really late for taking down Christmas decorations? I thought I was early this year. I'm usually doing it in March.

Where I came from they were to be down by the day after New Years.  the last ones I saw still up here were taken down this weekend so you are ok now I think but March?  That is way to late down here but may be the norm up there with more winter.
