3x FCS national champs and a 26game winning streak.  They said Fargo was their best venue all of last year, couldn't wait to come back...just had to make sure the streak was alive.

I have a lot of family in Texas(parents were actually south of San Antonio the past few days) and Oklahoma...A&M is the big family school everyone goes to from around there.  Family in Dallas, George West/Beeville, Austin, and Katy.

And now let the debate rage between college and pro football!

There is no debate....still apples and oranges.  Unfortunately most people in the northeast only experience one, so they have nothing to compare it to.

That is correct Dave and for whatever reason I don't know but as a whole (as always there are exceptions) people in the Northern Latitudes seem to luv NFL Football and those in the Southern Latitudes seem to luv and prefer College Football but there is certainly crossover in both places.  Just the way seems to be.

In the north, there has never been particular interest in colleges as part of the social environment, and they just haven't been that good.  Sorry, but Rutgers, Boston College, Connecticut, Ivy League?  Rutgers has only even become visible in the last decade or so with Rick Schiano (really happy to see the interest)  Penn State has a decent following, but more so in just PA.  A lot more pro teams to take interest in...and some of them used to be good....

I work around and with a lot of engineers from every school in TX and also visit some of the schools occasionally.  IMHO there are numerous good schools in TX but for Educational Purposes (and I know that comes after atheletics) I would rank A&M at the top of the list.  You must be a family that luv's the oilfields - George West, Beeville and North Dakota are 2 of the 3 biggest shale producing fields in the world. (George West and Beeville are in the same field)

Lot of previous engineers in the family that worked for the oil companies down there and were A&M alumni.  Currently they ranch cattle, but there are a lot of 'small family feuds' with their mineral rights on their land.
