Post by: CigarBanter on October 23, 2014, 12:00:09 AM
Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, you will catch hell if you post something everyone doesn't agree with.  And heaven forbid if you should make a grammatical error, you'll be berated with GFYs!  So don't proceed if you have thin skin.  Then light a cigar, pop open your favorite pumpkin beer and welcome aboard!

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake in northern Japan killed 40 people. Brazil launched its first rocket into space, 14 months after an accident killed 21 space agency employees. The Boston Red Sox took Game 1 of the World Series, defeating the St. Louis Cardinals 11-9. German Chancellor Angela Merkel called President Barack Obama to complain about allegations U.S. intelligence had targeted her cellphone. (The White House said it wasn't monitoring and wouldn't monitor Merkel's communications, but conspicuously didn't say they had never been monitored.) The Boston Red Sox took the World Series opener, beating the St. Louis Cardinals 8-1.

Old" is when...
-------------------------

...your sweetie says, "Lets go upstairs and make love," and you answer, "Honey, I can't do both!"

...your friends compliment you on your new alligator shoes and you're
barefoot.

...a sexy babe catches your fancy and your pacemaker opens the garage
door nearest your car.

...you remember when the Dead Sea was only sick.

...going bra-less pulls all the wrinkles out of your face.

...you don't care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don't
have to go along.

...when it takes longer to rest than to get tired.

...when you are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the
police.

..."getting a little action" means I don't need to take any fiber today.

..."getting lucky" means you find your car in the parking lot.

... an "all nighter" means not getting up to pee!

Nice to bird hunt with a classic!  I use almost nothing but over/under stuff anymore except duck hunting with big heavy loads required (pass shooting) I like the Benelli or sometimes I use my old first generation Browning BPS.

Nothing cooler than a nice old 870 when you load the shells in it...music to my ears!  My dad has a SBE2 Benelli, just loves it, and also uses a Franchi 20ga semi-auto when hunting smaller upland game.  MY next gun will be an over-under, looking at a CZ, but still a lot of time before I pull the trigger(get it) ;)

Morning Sunshine, while you were sleeping we declared it Hopeful Thursday though.   A nice pheasant hunt sounds rather nice to me and I would sure be looking forward to that myself.  Telework for me tomorrow so at least no commute and can truly dress casual.
I am hopeful the gods will bless me with pheasants  ;D  Mornin Tex!
And for once you don't want to be blessed with females!
Kill all the males!  BANG BANG!  Also trying out a new gun-currently I have 2 Rem 870 Exp Magnums, 12 and 20ga, but I am borrowing my grandpas Rem 11-87 12ga for the rest of the fall
Nice to bird hunt with a classic!  I use almost nothing but over/under stuff anymore except duck hunting with big heavy loads required (pass shooting) I like the Benelli or sometimes I use my old first generation Browning BPS.

On a similar subject I just ordered a Pope costume for a Halloween party this weekend

Nothing cooler than a nice old 870 when you load the shells in it...music to my ears!  My dad has a SBE2 Benelli, just loves it, and also uses a Franchi 20ga semi-auto when hunting smaller upland game.  MY next gun will be an over-under, looking at a CZ, but still a lot of time before I pull the trigger(get it) ;)
CZ is a good value and Stoeger is a great value as it is nothing but a previous edition Benelli for the most part.  Brother and Son both duck hunt with Stoegers.  I am a Ruger Red Label guy for the O/U's.    The real classic pump though is a Winchester Model 12 (don't have one myself but my brother has his original one he got as a kid in the early 60's)  and for fun hunts (like at a quail plantation in GA I go to on occasion, having my son's batchelor party there early next year) I have a Winchester Model 41 - .410 which is the cats meow for classic fun.

Yeah those Stoeger Condors are solid for the $$...we have a few stashed at our Company's hunting lodge that I use sometimes in the afternoon hunts.  Wife said I do more hunting this year she will get me a gun...don't think she comprehends how expensive they can be :)

I'm more worried about the star threshold at this point.  Not sure if I can keep on living if I were to drop to one.

DRAMA and CHAOS HITS RV PARK IN YANKEETOWN, FLORIDA

Redneck Rick ordered tv service through Comcast last month and to date has had working television for 12 days. three non-working boxes later, one that was to be overnighted but did not arrive for a week, he now gets a bill for $182 and change.

Redneck Rick has used my phone to make calls to Comcast for the past 30 days without satisfaction from Comcast Customer Service.

at the time of this news cast, Redneck Rick had just spent 32 minutes on my phone trying to cancel his service. after being hung up on twice, Redneck Rick told the to send someone to get their 3 non-functioning cable boxes because 'they are nothing but a piece of shit', and that they will be in a box on his picnic table.

Costumer Service says there is still the issue of the $182 monthly service fee, $27 shipping fee for the 2nd box, $72 fee for the 'overnight shipping fee' that took a week, a $65 Customer Service fee for the technician that never showed up.

Rich Guy Danny and myself are laughing our asses off and it will not be much longer before Redneck Rick hits the bottle.

that is all.

Sweet, thanks.  If you bought all of your cigars at a B&M they'd be decent, but at the $3 or so a piece they go for, they don't stand up to many online deals.  I would rather the JFOOs for the same price.

Those are significantly better than the Ortega Minis.  I think the Ortegas are supposed to be average, 'quick fix' types of cigars.  And as that, they deliver.  Other smaller cigars actually feature good tobacco, just in a smaller package.

A couple of young boys were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track. All of a sudden, the Game Warden jumped out of the bushes. Immediately, one of the boys threw his rod down and started running through the woods like a bat out of hell. The Game Warden was hot on his heels. After about a half mile, the young man stopped and stooped over with his hands on his thighs to catch his breath, so the Game Warden finally caught up to him. "Let's see yer fishin' license, Boy!" the Warden gasped. With that, the boy pulled out his wallet and gave the Game Warden a valid fishing license. "Well, son," said the Game Warden. "You must be about as dumb as a box of rocks! You don't have to run from me if you have a valid license!" "Yes, sir," replied the young guy. "But my friend back there, well, he don't have one."

Haven't even checked in on the Jam once today.  It's bourbon season, got no money for cigars.  The little fun money I have left after whiskey goes to beer.  When was the last time there was ANYTHING new on the Jam?  Seems like the same stuff every time now...
UH HELLOOOO! Didn't you see the Diesel Wicked Belicoso?

Total of five bottles. Three from one location, two from another.  The second place wrote back saying it was one bottle per person.  The first place did not say that, but they accidentally gave my three to a friend of mine who I'd told that they had these particular bottles in stock.

WTF, who broke the banter?
On a jam day, no less.  Sheesh.
Its not like it's like the jams we used to get though, they are really getting worse each time it seems and today's is a real stinker.
I hear you.  But I guess one can make the argument that you'd have more banter time because you're not hitting the "Do it" button.

HILARIOUS: CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE FARTS ON-AIR DURING CANDIDATE FORUM. How do you spin a fart? We’re waiting for his Democrat opponent to complain he contributes to global warming too much.

Nice quiet day, the boring jam helped motivate me to almost sleep the day away.  Thanks for asking, it's amazing how much harder it is to get over being sick as we get older.

Calling it a day guys, I would say enjoy the rest of the jam but I fear it's only going to get worse from here now.

Wasn't whining, just stating a fact.   I just got off a conference call and I'm done working.  Don't want to hang around for another hour+ so I may flip soon and go to bed.
