I suppose it's THAT time.I think I will keep my clothes on this year, older farming community that I live in and I really don't think they would like voters with no clothes on running around.

3 ways to tell it is election time: 1) Ebola has been cured 2) ISIS is on vacation 3) Gasoline prices have fallen near 50 cents a gallon in the past monthRack price on regular gas has been down around 2.45 a gallon for the last couple of weeks, it started to inch up yesterday so by the end of next week we should be well over 3.00 a gallon again. It's just like that joke I posted, caviar and champagne today and garbage tomorrow after you have voted.
Good morning Native, Dave and Tony.Good morning, Chip. I hear ya on the gas prices.
Oh yeah gas will creep back up quickly, ISIS will be attacking from all sides and Ebola will be threatening us all within a week or two - No matter who wins or loses.3 ways to tell it is election time: 1) Ebola has been cured 2) ISIS is on vacation 3) Gasoline prices have fallen near 50 cents a gallon in the past monthRack price on regular gas has been down around 2.45 a gallon for the last couple of weeks, it started to inch up yesterday so by the end of next week we should be well over 3.00 a gallon again. It happens every 2 years I am afraid, bD part is that few remember and we always get screwed every time there is an election. Our old Governor Edwin Edwards is even on the ballot this time, running for a office somewhere in the state and I am sure he will win again, he is pretty open and honest about what kind of man he is though, the old Silver Zipper returns.Oh yeah gas will creep back up quickly, ISIS will be attacking from all sides and Ebola will be threatening us all within a week or two - No matter who wins or loses.3 ways to tell it is election time: 1) Ebola has been cured 2) ISIS is on vacation 3) Gasoline prices have fallen near 50 cents a gallon in the past monthRack price on regular gas has been down around 2.45 a gallon for the last couple of weeks, it started to inch up yesterday so by the end of next week we should be well over 3.00 a gallon again. Well I'm gonna take advantage and gas up before my drive. The only positive note to going to the other office is that I can smoke on the way there. I'm looking at a La Herencia Cubana. Happy fucking Tuesday to all!Drive safe and enjoy the cheap gas but don't light up at the pump!

Morning, all. Guess I'm the second closest banterer to a beach this morning. Fall weather creepin' in. Lots of beer these past few days (visit to Green Flash brewery), lots of whiskey, lots of cigars.Good mornin Joe, happy birthday!
Not sure of the whiskey delivery laws in your respective states but HiTimeWine.net is having a 10% off everything in store sale, online orders too. I believe their shipping is somewhat reasonable out of state. Just a heads up for anyone interested.

Hey, I'd rather smoke better cigars less often than lesser cigars more often. I propose an anti-AJF e-herf tonight. Nothing to join in on since we'll all not be smoking AJs together.

I picked up a Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, Old Forester Signature 100 Proof, and Old Weller Antique 107 proof from the sale this morning. The Stranahans is pretty interesting stuff, IMO. I believe it's all malt/barley. Tastes more like a scotch than a bourbon, even the wife likes it. Usually $60+ when I see it around here but Hi Time's price is pretty low.
Happy Birthday Joe, cheers!Uh oh, man down!

Yep, I've had Breckenridge. Been a while so can't think of a direct comparison to Stranahans from a flavor profile standpoint, but I do remember that I liked the Stranahans a little more.
You should, it's about time. I had a Yeti Stout last nightHappy Birthday Joe, cheers!

Pobation, 80 hours community service and a $2,000 fine would be the only punishment facing Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson if a no-contest plea to misdemeanor reckless assault.$2000? Why even bother? That'd be like fining me 29 cents.

I couldn't agree more - and they say the system is fair no matter who you are - fucking lawyers.Pobation, 80 hours community service and a $2,000 fine would be the only punishment facing Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson if a no-contest plea to misdemeanor reckless assault.$2000? LOL, precedent I guess. If they fined him his $2,000 equivalent, it'd be challenged and thrown out immediately. If they just didn't bother fining him at all, it'd be just as bad the other way, you'd never be able to punish anyone for the same crime.
I think the bigger joke is that he's able to plea bargain out of child abuse charges. An average citizen would absolutely NOT have a similar case end like this.

Man, this day is going to DRAG!
Congrats! Will they do a 60day review or something similar with a full time offer?Man, this day is going to DRAG!
Don't have much left to do here, just putting in the hours. Just got officially offered the paid position at the government site, though it's still only part time for now. Next step, full time and leaving the advertising world behind, hopefully!

No, that makes total sense. It's so much easier for them do commit to PT, even if it's a few weeks, for the fear that if it doesn't turn out it's a lot less energy on their part...and with gubment that's probably a lot of shit.Congrats! I basically have to get "in the system" this way, first, to be eligible for full time positions that are only open to current county employees at the moment. Kinda hoping it works out to be a short cut instead of waiting for the positions to open up to the public. It's government, so they have to go through a fairly extensive and "fair" interview process when opening things up to the public. The department I'm in was willing to jump around those loopholes for the part time position since they were technically allowed to avoid the more lengthy hiring process by doing it this way.
I don't even know if that makes sense. Government is confusing.

My sister just did a similar thing in WA for her nursing job-hired her on for 3mo as PT, work 40hr weeks, after 2mo then just brought her on full time once they all realized they liked her and realized she fit in well there. Job was posted and everything, but way simpler since it was for internals only.

Yeah, sounds almost exactly the same. Before they fully commit, which is a fairly large commitment considering the fairly extensive government benefits package, they need to see that you can truly do the work. I'm not even authorized to do certain things, as low level as they may be, since I haven't officially been on payroll there.
Speaking of gubment hours...have a good night Dave!Hazzuh!

I'm not even authorized to do certain things, as low level as they may be, since I haven't officially been on payroll there.
40 hours week and like 12 holidays a year...sign me up! But like you said, mediocre pay until you hit the mgmt ranks.Yeah the Gubment benefits sound unreal...very tempting for when I have kids and won't want to work 50-55hr weeks, every week of the year. No, that makes total sense. It's so much easier for them do commit to PT, even if it's a few weeks, for the fear that if it doesn't turn out it's a lot less energy on their part...and with gubment that's probably a lot of shit.Congrats!

Yeah, that's another "perk". Goverment workers really are not paid that much (until you get to management levels, anyway) relative to what a similar job would pay in the private sector. Long term benefits, though, are great, as is the 'quality of life'. There will always be some added work hours but generally speaking, a 40 hour work week is the norm. And when you're off work, you're OFF.
OK, I'm outta here. Think I'll go grab one of those Imperial Biscotti Breaks after all, treat myself. Enjoy the rest of the day, all.Get the 'Cherry on Top' one, but either is a good choice :) Have a good night Joe!
That sounds nice. That's the one sector I never worked in. Sorry, got distracted by work. Drizzly here, but warmer than usual. Still in the high 40's. Usually after Halloween it starts getting cold. What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?Lube? Google translator must be busted.Hola Muchacho's Como Estas?Bien, bien. Y usted?
Google translator must be busted.-----AFoC-----Is youse guys going to CI the day after Thanksgiving again like last year? Oh, and good evening Sir Antnee, Regent of Rigatoni! It's not a normal occurrence. I guess anything is possible. You heading back up again?
It's not a normal occurrence. I guess anything is possible. You heading back up again?-----AFoC-----Going to Scranton again for Thanksgiving. Last minute change. We were going to stay home this year, but Papo and Mercy sounded so disappointed when we said we weren't coming, that we decided to go. Taking Baby Valentina once again, too. The crapload of relatives in NJ all want to see her.Not sure what's in store for me that weekend because we may wind up going away too. Keep me apprised and I'll do the same.
KC, how's the babysitting going..?Hey BD, you're on kinda late. What's up?
I'm just waiting for my wife to get up and go to work, so I can get the bed.. :)KC, how's the babysitting going..?Hey BD, you're on kinda late. What's up?
Not sure what's in store for me that weekend because we may wind up going away too. Keep me apprised and I'll do the same.-----AFoC-----Wasn't sure if it was an annual thing youse guys did, just wanted to check. I'll stay in touch. We did it last year only because you were coming to the area. When Charlie and I hang out, it is generally in NY or NJ.
KC, how's the babysitting going..?-----BD-----Evening BD! Valentina got the "Terrible Two's" 4 month's early.Oh boy, fun times.... My grandson only went through that for about 5 months. Every time he acted up, mommy had a very nice talk with him and tried to get him to understand, and it seemed to have worked. I'm glad he's over it, because if looks could kill, he sure did give me some... I gave him a few time outs, and put him into the corner, but I tried to also make it fun. Like picking a corner in the kitchen under a counter, while wearing daddy's shoes. He was more concerned that it wasn't his regular corner to stand in. So he knew he was getting a time out, but he couldn't figure out way it was kinda fun... I have to maintain my fun Pawpa status.. :)

Evening Gentlemen. Been a while since I checked in. Like maybe 4 months. What have I missed?Hello.... I'd say you missed about 1,000 smoked cigars by the other members.

That doesn't sound like a bad problem to have. I need to do more damage to my stash. Smoked two today which is not usual for me. Perhaps you will get good deals on the upcoming jam so that you may replenish your supplies.Evening Gentlemen. Been a while since I checked in. Like maybe 4 months. What have I missed?Hello.... Yeah well been keeping up on my end here. Needing to restock. Down to bottom end yard gars and the top end special occasion 'gars.

Sometimes I take her out on the back porch to Jackie and Ralphie's enclosure, and tell her I'm putting her in it. When she tries to climb in on her own, I realize that is not the right approach.I hear ya on that one. I've had a few things backfire on me too.
Yes. Or at least a very plausible assumption. :)That doesn't sound like a bad problem to have. I need to do more damage to my stash. Smoked two today which is not usual for me. Yeah well been keeping up on my end here. Needing to restock. Down to bottom end yard gars and the top end special occasion 'gars. ----reg-----Evening Reg!Howdy Sir. Hows that weather in FL? Been nice here (highs around 40's) but calling for cold temps next week. Single digits.
Today was garbage day. My wife went to the curb and brought the garbage container back to where we store it. Later she said, "I didn't check the garbage container when I brought it back, and I think I brought it back before the garbage truck pick up the garbage...!" She drove me so nuts over it, that I had to go out into the rain and look into the container to see if the garbage was gone or not...!!! It was gone... Errrrr..!!!!I would have found the container in the street until I returned from work. Which scenario is better?
Well, the wife is gone ... Time for me to jump into bed and watch Two and a Half Men... Nite all...!See ya tomorrow, BD.
