Wife left for her CO trip earlier this morning. She was supposed to drive our older, shittier car to her mom's, then drive to Detroit to catch their plane. Well, the back door on the passenger side doesn't work right, so we always leave it closed and locked, never use that. Apparently, she forgot this as she was putting her luggage in to leave, and now the fucking thing won't close and latch again. So her mom had to come pick her up, and now I have to leave work early, try to bungie cord the thing shut long enough to take it to Firestone, see if they can fix it again. All of this happened while I was supposed to be sleeping. So 30 minutes of trying to fix it, followed by an hour where I couldn't fall back asleep, and I'm a frickin' zombie today. Double sheesh.

Well, really only solo today. Kids should be back from grandma and grandpa's house tomorrow. But still, was looking forward to relaxing after work, not having to take this stupid car in to get looked at. Last time, he did something to the door and fixed it in about 10 seconds. I have no idea what it was, and I could not figure it out for the life of me. Even tried google for some helpful hints, nothing doing. Hopefully, it's that simple of a fix again and I can relax most of the afternoon.

I have no idea what it was, and I could not figure it out for the life of me. Even tried google for some helpful hints, nothing doing. Hopefully, it's that simple of a fix again and I can relax most of the afternoon.
In the South they use Duct Tape for such heavy car repairs. :)
Lol, is there anything duct tape can't do?
Does not make good condoms, hurts taking it off :)
Also poor toilet paper, I suppose.

I bet you go from thoughts of having a cigar when you get home will now be on having a nap instead.
You better believe it. That's assuming I don't fall asleep right here at my desk.
I assumed you fell asleep at your desk most days anyway. Look at the bright side, you're solo for a couple days and can do whatever you want, at least a nap is possible

In 1985, Commodore International Ltd. unveiled its Amiga 1000 personal computer during a press event at New York's Lincoln Center. Bandleader Kay Kyser, 80, known for his "Kollege of Musical Knowledge," died in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
I actually still have an Amiga 1000 in a box.  It's been in my garage so long that I'm sure it's just an elaborate home for mice now, but I have one darn it!

You could donate it to a computer museum and get a nice tax write off.
It's an antique after all.

Other day I stop at a Pep boys and ask about a full synthetic oil change.  Guy quotes me $90.00.  Sitting right in front of him is a sign with the managers special $69.00 with tire rotation and other stuff.  I ask why can't I have that price?
Duh!  Going to Auto Zone this morning $39.99 with a free Mobil 1 baseball hat.

So I called Firestone about fixing the door, and the guy that originally helped me with that answered. I explained what was happening, and he remembered fixing it before, saying I was the one that needed the new timing belt but he couldn't do it right away for me. That happened in February, and him fixing the door was at least a year ago. Guy has a mind like a steel trap. But at least he says he can fix it up, and show me what he's doing this time, in case it happens again. My day just perked up a bit.

Morning Mayor T, trains running today?
According to the TV this morning yes.  However I will have no empirical evidence, since I have another doctor's appointment this afternoon, so I have another sick day today.  Got to see an endocrinologist.  Sugar way out of control.

And while we're discussing Martha Stewart and the vaginization of America, there's this.  Somehow I don't expect JWack to give this a try:

I am back from my walk getting materials ready to head out to a meeting about 10:45, Morning Raz.
Mornin', Tex. Sorry about the upcoming lobotomy...I mean, meeting.
This one will not be bad, actually has a purpose.   I was looking forward to going to the dentist this afternoon but Travellin Dave ruined that for me so now I have to dread that.
I apologize already!   Sheesh, maybe she will check your prostate after all.

Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
What was I thinking, Auto Zone doesn't do Oil changes, plus they had neither the Mobil 1 or Bosch oil filters for my car.  This is the first time I am having the 2006 Lexus IS 250 serviced since I bought it last year.  Seem it takes almost 8 quarts of synthetic oil.  Most specials are for up to 5 quarts of oil.  In a STS tire service place, they are doing it now for about $90.  Don't want to have problems with the extended warrenty in the future.

Just got handed 2 brown boxes!  The Tres Reynas corona box, and the fallen angels 10 pk.  also tried one of the Crumbs from CAYP.  definitely like them!  Tony, if you're looking, you're right, the $20 "mystery sampler" isn't really worth it, also noticed that they are almost dry.  not impressed there, but good price on the Crumbs.

Indeed, though the target is $36.  I'd say anything below $36.50 would be satisfactory.  Sub $36 would give me a woody.  $35 or below, grab the tissue box.

Decided to try a TR Corona instead as I had a Crumb yesterday.  Was impressed by the Crumb, and Thank you for the enabling on the TR's as they are also very good IMO.  Very pleased with both purchases! Only down side was the Mystery 5er and it's not nasty, just not impressive.

No, it was in fact synced.  But then you need to consider PMS, mensies, and post crabbiness.  That leaves one tolerable week.  You just didn't realize that you lucked out.

ahhh!  so basically I am lucky to have had 1 week where it was mildly tolerable instead of intolerable 4 weeks a month.  I can see that now, but then, it was ugly.  matter of fact, a happy byproduct would probably be my taking up cigars just to have an excuse to get out of the house.  Glass 1/2 full?  silver lining? serendipity? you be the judge.  I'm too tired after this.

LOL, no, you misunderstand, I'm not comparing the prices, I already think the mystery pack is not a good deal.  I've only smoked 1 of the cigars out of the 5 in the bag and am concerned about the actual quality.  I think I split some OOO's with Dusty Dave once and they were somewhere around your $2-3 price.

so, what to smoke on the ride home.  may have to try one of these la Historias.  get a little history & culture going.
Indeed. Museums are for pussies.
Maybe I should be going to more museums then.... ;D

JR Daily Dutch Auction - Omar Ortez Maduro Short Torpedo minimum bid $109.62 with $5 shipping.  Good cigar at a great price.  More of an OOO man myself and have some in the humi as I post.
I've split those with Wenglish on occasion.  Agreed, good smoke.
I think that's one of the cigars in the mystery pack.  it's and Omar with a dark band on the foot and a smallish torpedo.  may have gotten a good one out of the bunch?
Yes but it's a $2 to $3 cigar... Not $4.  Sorry to shit on your point.
$109.62/60 seegars=$1.83.  Simple Fishmatic.

Meeting first, then dentist for me too.  Later Gentlemen.
Later Dave.  good luck at the dentist also.  you guys are going to the dentist at the wrong time.  should be going at 2:30.
The Dave's have synced their cycles, dentist-wise.
you know, i think that sync'd cycle thing is a myth, I had 2 daughters and a wife living under 1 roof for a few years, and it wasn't 1 week out of the month more miserable than the others, it was 1 week out of the month that was tolerable.  seemed like there was no coordination as we've been told.  Pissed me off when I realized that...
Take my advice... Light another cigar and don't try to figure 'em out.

To infinity and beyond!  Or is that ad infinitum but that would be talkin' foreign.
We don't take real kindly to that round these parts.
Yeah, posting here in any but the lingua franca gets Tex all loco, then he starts in with his spiel about how this is America, and we should speak the language of the Angles as we're supposed to. I know it's a little confusing because he usually accompanies all this with some choice Saxon words, but hey, que sera sera, y'know? So take my advice and don't be a schlemiel. In this locale, ignore the fact that "America" is eye-talian and speak like an East Anglian as God intended.

Less than two bucks a smoke delivered.  Sixty of 'em a box.  Split some with Will myself.  Did a three way split once upon a time.
I think I was part of that 3 way.  TWHS!
Nicely done, even if you had to do your own setup.  The knuckledraggin' has been slacking of late.
Just a bunch of knuckle draggers.  That was funny when HumanBeing did that review of the banter on Today's DoD.
