I arrived up here about 6 pm yesterday and headed over to the SoA event, which was in full swing.  Met LTG, his buddy Nate, Sly, and his friends Gene & Dave (yes, another one).  One of the stars from the show was on-hand along with a couple cuties in daisey dukes (MoW girls turned SoA girls).  Went out for dinner after nearby.  Was a great start to the Fest for this rookie.

One of my favorite singers, RIP Ben.

NEW YORK (AP) — Ben E. King, the unforgettable lead singer for the Drifters and a solo star whose plaintive baritone graced such pop and rhythm ‘n blues classics as “Stand by Me,” ”There Goes My Baby” and “Spanish Harlem,” has died.

King died Thursday at age 76, publicist Phil Brown told The Associated Press on Friday. Brown did not immediately have other details.

We're finally on our way.  First cigar of the day, CLE Cuarenta 11/18.  Unfortunately, the wrapper was cracked so I tried this technique of burning the edges so that it won't unravel.  So far, so good.
