And this one is down Dean's way
A 53-year old woman named Donna Byrne raised some eyebrows as she rode a horse down the middle of a Polk County road.
Deputies showed up to check things out after a passerby reported that Byrne appeared confused and possibly in danger as she rode the horse on Combee Road near North Crystal Lake Road in Lakeland, an arrest affidavit said.
Police reigned Byrne in, and noted she smelled like alcohol, had red watery eyes, and staggered when she tried to walk. A field sobriety test was conducted, and she was arrested for DUI.
Byrne provided breath samples of .157 and .161. A breath alcohol level of .08 is the legal limit in Florida, reports Patch.
Boduke, the horse, was hitched to a deputy’s patrol car and ate grass until being taken to the Polk County Sheriff’s Animal Control livestock facility, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
Bryne was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and animal neglect, a misdemeanor. Authorities said she charged with animal neglect because she did not provide proper protection for the horse, which she put in jeopardy of being injured or killed.
