Another three deal day at JR Cigar's DDA.  Sheesh.  Not that I'm looking to buy anything but still... always kinda looking to buy something.
What's the deal?

What's the deal with no deals?  Who knows.  Grapefruit Sculpin available for growler fills at Ballast Point, want to try that.  I need to start leaving empty growlers in the car.
Lack of temptation is good for me right now.  I've bought more cigars in 2014 than in the previous 48 years of my life combined.

Ah, who'm I kidding?  Probably going to order more Cubans today.  Didn't get to it yesterday.

I can resist Cubans because they're "always there".  And the sales are nice but they're not usually enough to make feel like I HAVE to pull the trigger on something, ya know?  I tend to just keep my favorites well stocked, kinda tough to experiment/try new ones when you have to order a full box.  That said, I really want to try those petite MC #2s.

cheap cigar order in: EO #21, Kitchen Sink Sampler, JdN Dream Team Sampler, EPC 2nds, and El Mejor Expresso. probably shouldn't have spent money I don't really have to spare but I'm down to my last cigar :-(
Yowzah.  You get that low and we may have to send a care package or something.

I had one of those EOs on a fishing trip back in May.  I liked it, at least in that context.
no care packages please. need to learn to live within my limits. appreciate the thought and past packages though. thank you.

Morning Joe.

Hey there, Dave.  I did order a Cuban Crafters "Perfect Cutter" the other day.  Used one at the super store in Florida and really liked it.  It's really like crossing a V cutter with a standard guillotine (in that you can't possibly cut "too much"), and it's not like I actually have trouble cutting a cigar, but I was surprised to see that it only cost $15.  $13 on Amazon, haha.  And it comes with a lifetime warranty, so there's that.  Still need to send my Xikar XV in for sharpening...
I should probably do that too, but it still works so well, 3 years later.

Yep, mine just seems like it's starting to pinch/pull on the caps a little instead of slicing right through.  No questions asked so may as well just ship it off.
Indeed. Just too lazy to do it, myself. Haha.

Wife update: got a surgery consult with someone at the proper Clinic downtown for tomorrow, instead of having to wait until next week at the satellite hospital. Hopefully that gets her in and gets this over with faster.
Just like your approach to sex, good luck Dave
Bazinga
Instead of Hop on Pop, look like a Dive on Dave kinda day.
Let's hope that continues after she gets home from work and the vicodin kicks in.

I've never stocked up on Cubans.  I kept planning to, but then you or Dusty would point out this deal or that deal, or I'd lowball something on the Devil and it would win - and then there wasn't enough left in the budget to afford the box. So there was only the single tray in the humidor that had ten or so Cubans that were gifted from friends.   FredBob's intro to iHavanas and their prices on ten-boxes got me stocking up.  Just the right time and the right price.

Sounds about right.  Always ready to order some and then another deal comes along.

Stepdaughter just gave me her monthly$400 board check for her and her 2 kids. Wifey lets me keep it so I don't bitch about them living here.  A shameless bribe and it works!

Dude - I'd contend that you're learning to live within the limits imposed by deadbeats.

Your limits include some friends online who like and respect you, and who sympathize with the situation.  Some of those friends spend more on cigars (and Harley parts) than they probably should, and often enjoy the generosity of others.

Which is all to say...with all due respect, GFY.  You don't get to deny your friends the opportunity to show kindness.

Ecc 4:12  ;)
