He will be fine. He knows who his friends are-all of us! Y'all should have told me to hit the road years ago, as I continued my paranoid rants and belligerent anti cop(I still have some issues there)statements. Coming close to death changes you. I'm not 10' tall and bullet-proof no more! I'm 5' 9" and fat and muscle tone shrinking. So, being happy is a hard job, but I am. Finally. But, yes--GFY

HaHa! Never tried them, but the shrinkage is in my legs and arms. I always had a lot of arm and leg muscle, but who knows some of my medical problems & meds could be causing it. I still can work hard, so theres that. If I need the blue pills, I will happily take them. And I don't get embarrassed about anything.

I wish I had more time, or that work wasn't so complicated, or that the country wasn't so damned big.  I'd hop the bike and head down myself. Someday soon, hopefully, I'll do just that.  Come round and see all you guys.

At first I thought he was joking.  Then I kept reading .  Now I'm not so sure.  Anyhoo, I'm calling it a night.  We'll figure this all out in the daylight hours.
He will be fine. He knows who his friends are-all of us! Y'all should have told me to hit the road years ago, as I continued my paranoid rants and belligerant anti cop(I still have some issues there)statements. Coming close to death changes you. I'm not 10' tall and bullet-proof no more! I'm 5' 9" and fat and shrinking. So, being happy is a hard job, but I am. Finally. But, yes--GFY
I read back over it, must be more to the picture than I could see.  Hate to see anyone here upset.
From what I can see, he's broke, out of cigars and can't enjoy retirement. I'd be pissed off too!
I'll chip in towards a care package.  Jayzus, we gotta look out for each other.
I have an old address for him, but I don't know if it's any good anymore. Where's TD Craig when you need him?
Hey, Freddy-Bob, am I copped liver? I have his address.
well then pm it to me and Raz, God damnit! Sheesh!
Yeah, let's send the man some smokes.
Indeed, God knows I have plenty and can spare some to a BOTL in need.

That sounds like a damn good plan!  Short day for me too, hoping to start heading to the cabin around 10-11ish, whenever the wife gets up.

Hi Shaun...  Ever since last winter, when someone mentioned it's easier to shovel 4" of snow 3 times then 12" of snow once, I've applied that to my grass cutting, and now try to cut it once a week. UGH..!

Amen to that!  The grass has been growing WAY TOO FAST this year for us.  Raining 2-3x/wk and sunny the other days, perfect growing conditions.
I do mine weekly, but even parts I have to really slow down through, I should be doing it every 4-5days...should dry out in July/Aug...I hope.

I went into this really shady bar in North St. Louis. It had bars on the windows, and bars on the doors. It was pretty scary...!  It turned out that everyone there was great.  As I'm having a drink, who else walks in, Leon Spinks..  I said hi as he walked by, and he stopped and talked to me for a few minutes.

Good morning, Tom.  Don't be so self conscious about the Geno.  I'm sure the name exists.  Shit, I think there's a frozen pizza out there called Geno's.  I was just stating that the name doesn't exist in Italy.  I once knew a guy named Geovanni.  Based on that spelling, I knew he wasn't Italian.  One more quick story...  Someone I worked with wanted to name her son something really ethnic because they were 4th or 5th generation Italian.  They went with Guiseppe.  It looks like the real deal but in Italy would be pronounced Gooey-sep-eh.  As opposed to the authentic Giuseppe which would be pronounced jew-sep-eh and translate to Joseph.  I warned her she was making a mistake and she figured no one would know the difference.  I'm sure that's what happened with Geno too.

Nice to see someone back east appreciate fresh salsa!  I know I didn't when I lived back there.
Everybody always asks, how do you make this,
so here are the ingredients:

1 can of tomato paste
juice of 2 limes
balsamic vinegar
4 cloves of garlic, finely minced
½ bunch of cilantro, leaves and stems, chopped
1 yellow bell pepper
6  jalapeno peppers (seeds removed)
1 Vidalia onion
1 red onion
about a dozen plum tomatoes.

mix the first 3 ingredients, it the bottom of a large bowl
adding enough balsamic vinegar to thin out the tomato paste.
finely chop the peppers(cut the jalapeno very fine chop – a
1/8 of an inch) and the onions and cilantro, add to the
bowl and mix well.

finely chop the tomatoes adding half to the bowl
then sprinkling with sea salt.  fold them into the mixture.
add the rest of the tomatoes, more salt about a teaspoon,
and mix together to distribute the tomatoes into
the mixture in the bowl.

refrigerate overnight at least.  flavors need to marry.

You may use different types of tomatoes, adding cherry,  grape, on the vine,
and beefsteak or large jersey.  only make it tastier.  twice as much tomatoes
can be added to the above amount of onions & peppers. you can also add
orange , green and or red bell peppers.  yesterday yellow peppers were on sale,
and the jalapeno came in a big package, so I added more than the usual 3 I use
and cut back on the others.   hot sauce can be added, but I will serve it on the
side, once you put it in,  you can’t take it out!

recipe in another post, balsamic vinegar,
if you are adding olive oil, you are making bruschetta with cilantro.
swap the cilantro for flat leaf italian parley, real spicey bruschetta.

Oops, should have said the tomato paste makes it salsa roja.  A Mexican friend here at work advises that salsa fresca and pico de gallo are the same thing.  Both use only uncooked ingredients.  I stand revised.

Even if mine doesn't let us leave early, he'll be gone early and we'll just follow him out the door.  And if that still doesn't work I'll just protest and drink beer at the office, haha.  Not that worried about it, got a three day weekend so nothing's getting me down today!
Same here....3 day weekend, the monsoon is moving in so rain in the forecast. Love it.
Killing me.  The thing I miss most about Tucson is the monsoon.  I'm sure I've said this before, ad nauseum.
About as many times as I've mentioned how much I love it so we're even.

I wouldn't normally think we'd be busy either, but we seem to always have a few clients that always "need" something in a rush 'cause the customer is almost out! Same people, same shit, different week.

Hey, Dusty. Been soggy off and on for the past couple weeks here, but some good potential if the buttheads at AccuWeather can get anything close to what they're forcasting.

Good morning, gentlemen.
Hi Tony (from Geno)
Alright that's enough already.
I should look over what I cut and paste.
Most wouldn't know the difference, but most are dumbasses.

I'm not Italian, but I've got a lot of close friends who are, so I try to have the rispetto to get the pronuncia right. Capisci?
Si.

Love the way Chip snuck in Ken's birthday in the middle of the list.  Looks like a lot of famous folks have the exact same date, including Tom Cruise.  Wonder if Ken has ever jumped on Oprah's couch?  Boy does that sound like a euphemism or what?
Jumping on Oprah's couch is okay. Jumping on Oprah is okay.

Jumping Oprah - not okay.
Good morning, Bret.  Weird thing happened when you quoted my post, I was notified via Tapatalk.  Is that something I turned on or did you do that?  Only happened for this post.
Notifications are turned on in the app by default.  It'll annoy the hell out of you.  You can configure which, if any, you want to receive in the app settings.

It always strikes me as odd that California is such a great place for beer considering that the state is generally anti-everything.  Except marijuana.  Which is odd because they'd like to see tobacco banned completely.  I don't understand the crazies here.

Agreed, hope we get that in our area...that's one of the good brands they let us enjoy.

Just back, power went out to my building for almost an hour

Cool story.  What'd ya get at the liquor store yesterday?
Monthly liquor run for the house, no good beer to speak of except 2 ST Chokolats for a certain CA resident

Nice!  Still planning on picking your stuff up today.  If not today, early next week.  Depends on how motivated I'm feeling when I get outta here.  Kinda want a PB stout for myself this afternoon...
I hear ya, I won't get the package out until next week. Still have to get the Horny Goat this afternoon, god knows these beers can't all be in one store

Right?!  Always how it works.  My go to shop always has the SinTax in stock, except the last time we traded they didn't.  I'd call ahead to be sure they have it, but it's not like I won't find something else I want instead.  I'm in the mood for something totally new to me today, too, so maybe no PB stout for me.

It's funny, because for as popular as Stone is, I really don't drink their stuff much.  Not that I don't like it but it's EVERYWHERE, so when I find something new/interesting on a shelf, I generally take a Stone beer out of the cart.  I do like their "Enjoy By" IPA quite a bit, and I have a small growler of bourbon barrel aged Arrogant Bastard that I'll have this weekend, too.

Hey, Dean. I saw these earlier on the bid, and you seem to enjoy them on the regular. Not sure if this is the preffered vitola, but thought I'd ask what you thought about the price. 10/49.37

That's a good point, I started drinking a lot of their stuff when they lead the craft charge. Seems they're trying to catch up from newer stuff passing them by a bit, still mostly quality stuff

Curious to see how many of these new breweries actually stick around.  Craft beer is incredibly popular right now but there's only so much room in the marketplace.  These smaller guys need to put out some really crazy stuff to get noticed.  Stone kinda plays it safe, more of a "slow and steady" approach.  They do some really interesting stuff at their breweries but they seem to only bottle the staples.

Yes, mimics the cigar industry. Will get some really good breweries out of it but they won't all last. Raises the bar for the staples also

Yep, we all win with all the competition.  I like that the companies are able to experiment relatively easily with their beers, too.  Try a batch of something.  If it doesn't work... o'well, try something else.  Don't need to commit years to the process like you would cigars or whiskey.

Second cup of coffee.  This is going to be a red-letter banter day for me.  By some twist of fate, almost everything I should do today requires other people who are not here because it's the day before a holiday.  So...I'm going to complete another training course while bantering, drinking coffee, and trying to talk myself into buying the cigars I've talked myself out of buying the past couple of days.

If you've never seen them, or you only saw them in the 70's when the live sound was muddy, then it's worth going.  If you've seen them in the past 30 years, don't bother.
i think I saw them with Kansas in the late 70's at the Miami Sportatorium
A good bill.  Bet you could have gotten really stoned off the secondhand.

Well, nothing tops Hendrix opening for the Monkees for absurdity.  But I'll bet Rush got little love from the Bob Seger crowd.

I would agree on both dykes and eye candy.  Lab partner I had in college was a starting softball player (a smok'n hot one too) and said if you start you eat puzzy simple as that but ok to go both ways.

This Exile did not survive nearly so well as the Rosado.  They were in the same box/conditions/etc. so maybe this one was always damaged beneath that newspaper wrapping.  Split foot going up about 1.5 inches, few vertical and horizontal cracks in the wrapper all abound.  Oh well.    Itl has an open draw and a quick light, unlike the Perfecto Rosado from last night.

Flavors for the first inch...broadleaf.  A slightly bitter earthy/coffee mix and a slightly sweet nutty component.  And the raisin-y flavor is there, too.   Cedary accents, some slight spiciness around the edges.  Medium bodied, slightly stronger flavors than the rosado.

As long as it doesn't get so horizontal I can't use the covered portion of the porch, I'll keep smoking.  Temp and RH wise it isn't too bad anymore--it was before the rain, but it's probably already in the 70s...which would be a 10-15 degree drop in like the last 20 minutes, thus the rain.

Fred-Bob, I thought it very good. That is about half what Famous is selling 5er's for. Very good cigar. After all, it is a Diamond Crown. Made by J.C. Newman cigars. Julius Caesar Newman was J.C.'s real name-spelled that way too! Again, very good cigar! You may want to get Craig's opinion, he sent it to me. KC smoked one too, and loved it.

The Exile Churchill Maduro has been burning ugly but evening itself out.  No relights yet--though a fair bit of unburned wrapper that the cigar went around has flaked off on me.  Oh well.

So far I'd say it is more straightforward/less complex than the rosado.  Traditional CT broadleaf big old seegar flavors.  Same slightly bitter earthy/coffee core, mild spice/pepper, cedar accents.  Hint of a nutty flavor now and again.  Same with the raisin.  Not bad for a thunderstorm smoke.

Yes.  JR and I split the boxes of the Exiles--he got the Maddies and I got the Rosados.  Couldn't tell you what they cost--wild guess in the $60ish range.  The Exile Wireds went on closeout a bit after that and I remember they were cheaper.  Sub $2.

Rafael Gonzalez Tremendo tabaquito! A cigar that makes me want to retrohail, mild medium, nice burn and draw. I want to keep the cigar in my hand, it's hard not to over smoke. It's like loaf of fresh baked bread.
Easy relaxing cigar. It's not giving me complexities to focus on or twists and turns, it's just saying "Serenity Now".

Hopefully you've already seen this, but if not, you're in for a treat:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKI_q6MsTxM&feature=kp
my Dad loved that show, thanks for making me think of him. Serenity Now!

2nd 1/3 and the flavors are building, I'm even happier now. I believe this was from when I was at Casa KC a few years ago.

I was never a huge fan.  I appreciate what it did for sitcoms and there are some episodes that work really well, but my comedy tastes run in other directions.  Still, the fake trailers are pretty fantastic, imo.

Evening, all. Just a drive-by. On my way to help some friends who are secretly restoring my dad's old truck. Truck was my grandfather's, then my dad's. We got it recently from the guy my dad sold it to 20 years ago. Got it stripped down to the frame.

Murcielago Super Toro from November 2012.

Tastes like a Murcielago.  Prefer the Churchill, though.  Bit stronger tasting, imo.  Could also be batch differences, since these are post EO getting screwed with (though the wrappers look just like the old ones, unlike the 601 Blues) and my Churchills are from before the whole RP saga.

Thanks, Mark. We are thinking Schlitterbahn's. Only because Donna's friend with kids are going. But, she will have her own vehicle: driving my car! But, I will be available to go visit botl, and we are planning on staying a few days. I don't need to see water--I see it all of the time.

Marx had it all wrong.  The opiate of the people isn't religion, it's easy credit.  The easy credit keeps us spending money we don' t have, which makes for a stable workforce, because no one can afford to give the boss the big middle finger.  This allows the government to get away with rape.
