Hoyo off to a good start.  Draw a little tight, but improved from the last one I had (back in the fall, I believe).

Yes,  Got a 5 pack for father's day.  Not a fan of the box press.  Burn was good and had a nice flavor.

I usually punch my cigars, but I also got a Xikar folding cigar scissors for father's day.  First experience with the scissors - nice clean cut.
Anybody here a fan of the scissors?

Punch except for torpedoes and cigars with very delicate wrappers (punch being more likely to crack the wrapper near the head in my experience).

This HdM EE responds very well to being smoked slow.  Despite the 50RG, it seems like the flavors heat up a bit quicker than I'd imagine.  Could be related to the youth of the cigar, too.

Construction has been solid, though.  Slightly weak ash strength but I've let it sit for 5 minutes a few times now and it hasn't gone out.  Draw loosened up a little and burn has been very good.

Same for me, but my 18 year old went out and got the scissors for me, so I figured that I better try them.  He also got a couple of LAdC for us to smoke.

In general, the EE has been mild-medium to medium, though a at times the flavors come through fairly strong and the body seems a bit heavier.  This smoke only has 15 months of rest on it, so there is a good chance it will change up quite a bit by time it peaks.

Flavor rundown:  cedar, herbal accents throughout, sweet tobacco, nuts, creamy coffee, light/creamy chocolate, adding some cinnamon type spiciness towards the final third.  For the most part very little pepper/aggressive spices so far, though there were some rougher notes early on in the smoke.  I've been getting the creamy coffee/chocolate mix for a while now.

And killer aroma.  Slow burn time.  Lots of smoke.  Really happy with how much they've progressed since last fall.  Should be killer next summer.

Action shot.  No filters or anything, just the flash reflecting off the bowl and maybe the camera trying to color correct for the smoke?  Looks pretty good.
