That cigar just seems like a mistake. Maybe it needs a decade or two of downtime? I'd put it right 'up' there with the Bueso Genesis and Armada as far as worst cigar I've had in recent memory. I don't have a full "Not Top 10" but those three would be at the top.
I smoked a RP Edge last night, been sitting in the humidor for who knows how long. Had fleeting hints of some really nice flavors, but every other puff was hot air. I was ready to toss it after an inch and grab something else, but then it got decent. Creamy nuttiness, real pleasant. Then back to nothing and I was ready to toss it at the halfway point. Then it got better. Then the burn got all crazy. Then it straightened out. Incredibly inconsistent cigar that was tasty, except for when it wasn't. Kinda my experience with every RP cigar I've had in the past 5-6 years.

Quickie post - just grabbed a coffee and am going to light my first hair of the dog. I'll keep you postedGreat start. Very peppery, prelight. Pepper settles down once lit but still get it on the retrohale. Cedar is the prominent flavor. Some really good sweet tobacco goodness too. And that's only the first half inch.

But if he's elite in one of the sports that they give scholarships for, you're gonna start spending early...all those camps, and coaches, and the gear, and the gas, and getting him into the right high school, etc. The only way to win the game is for him to get rich and take care of your retirement.
