Ten years ago: An Army investigation found that 27 people attached to an intelligence unit at Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad either approved or participated in the abuse of Iraqi prisoners. David Hicks, an Australian cowboy who'd converted to Islam and allegedly fought for the Taliban in Afghanistan, went before a U.S. military commission at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base and pleaded not guilty to war crimes charges. (Hicks pleaded guilty in March 2007 to providing material support for terrorism, a deal which got him out of the U.S. base in Cuba, and he was freed by the end of that year.)

Morning, Fellas. Interesting weekend for me. High winds and rain finally decided to take a couple trees and large red oak limbs. Smashed through a couple 4ft sections of fence, and splintered the back gate. No bad damage other than that. Biggest issue was cutting through some of the limbs to clear it up. Amazing these 2ft diameter things were more than 30ft up.

Hey, Scott. I'm sure ya'll had a great time. Please feel free to share all the interesting details... such as you drink recipes.

I was with the BIL some this weekend and while we enjoyed a few select beverages, the conversation started about the Rogue VooDoo Doughnut stuff. He explained that these recipes were actually created to mimic doughnuts actually produced by VooDoo doughnut. Well, shit. I didn't know it was a real bakery. He went on to explain that this place was near the brewery, and patrons would often visit in the early hours in the morning... thus the connection. Their buildings are also pink, so that's why the bottle is. Anyway, their first beer was the maple bacon. Guess that's what sparked the post.

Anywhooo...  ;D

Amazing these 2ft diameter things were more than 30ft up.
Morning, sounds like a mess but at least nothing hit your house!

Yes. Thank the lord I didn't have to deal with that... Warden was already stressing too much over a fence.

Too early to derail with beer talk? ha.
Interesting stuff, the Voodoo Donut shop. I drank Bell's Two-Hearted Ale all week, excellent stuff and wasn't looking to try a bunch of things I never heard of down there. My Cherry-Cola Float was very good but the group liked the Cactus Colada better, a pina-colada made with tequila and Midori instead or rum. We started drinking at like 10AM every day, ridiculous but fun

Defiantly sounds like a good time. Have 2 more weeks before I can partake in such debauchery in Destin. I may have to start drinking more during the next couple weeks just to get myself into 'playing' shape. lol

Good to know. One of the more interesting sampling's this weekend was a Terrapin Guano Loco - chili pepper brownie ale. (Batshit Crazy?) Different, and not as bad as it may sound. There was heat, but only slight on the back of the palate. It did provide a compliment to the chocolate brownie flavor. Good, but not great. Worth the experience.

It should be about time for 2D to wake up.
been awake for a long time. wife stopped over yesterday afternoon to say goodbye. she just left. we resolved a lot of issues, shed a few tears, talked, shed more tears. she realizes now what was wrong, last week anyway. so it's goodbye, and at good terms.

Terrapin puts out some nice beers.
My favorite "chili" beer is Sam Adams "The Vixen", although it's not currently in distribution.  A chocolate chili bock.  Keep an eye out when available!

The Tat Series P has been around for quite a while.  06, I think.  I have a box of 08s kicking around.  It used to be a mixed filler (40 long, 60 medium) lower priming blend of the Havana VI with an Eucadorian Hababo wrapper.  Nothing fancy, low priming.

In 2011 the cigar was changed to an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and different vitolas, not sure about the blend.  The current wrapper is a lower priming of the Ambos Mundos Sumatra.

And I just looked at CI's copy and it is all wrong, unless this is a new 2014 version.  But those are the same vitolas as the 2011 re-blend, so whatever.  Wouldn't be the first time CI didn't know what the fuck it was doing.

the new nut bus driver started this morning. didn't take long to replace me.
dean no matter how great a job you do or did, it helps to maintain the perspective,
that they can replace the pope or the president.  with the pope you get white smoke and
a bunch of cardinals locked in a room. must be the secret handshakes.
Good afternoon Flip!
hello back guys, just finished vacation in Lancaster PA.  i think next year Vegas, or back to see the bikini babes in Hawaii.  just can take so much of those Amish women  in their provocative wardrobe.
Don't be talking about such Tony will have another boner before the day is over and we don't need that around here.

Oh, and by way of follow-up, some of you may recall the Xikar lighter I sent back to the mfg for repair/replacement?  Xikar responded that since it had CI emblazoned on it that they would refer it to CI.  I figured oh well, wasn't working anyway.

Well lo and behold, CI sends me a replacement, free of charge.  So the vaunted Xikar warranty does indeed work, even once removed.
