Former Longhorns RB Cedric Benson dies in motorcycle accident. Woman pulled out in front of him from a side street. A Girl on the motorcycle with him was also killed.
A true workhorse at Texas, Benson averaged 27 carries a game in his senior season collecting 1,834 yards and 19 touchdowns. Benson ended his four-year career ranked second on the Longhorns' all-time rushing list with 5,540 yards.
As a senior, he won the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back and was a consensus All-American.
He was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft. He also played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers over his eight-year NFL career.
