Robin Williams was a genius. Many genius commit suicide. Is it that they think too much, or know too much? Or know that we are given life, just to die? Great actor, and comedian. Will miss him. That is all.

Headache
-------------------------

The Doctor said: "The good news is I can cure your headaches...The bad news is that it will require castration. You have a very rare condition which causes your testicles to press up against the base of your spine and the pressure creates one hell of a headache. The only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles."

Joe was shocked and depressed. He wondered if he had anything to live for. He couldn't concentrate long enough to answer, but decided he had no choice but to go under the knife.
When he left the hospital, he was headache free for the first time in over 20 years, but he felt as if he was missing an important part of himself.
As he walked down the street he realized he felt like a different person. He could make a new beginning and live a new life. He saw a men's clothing store and thought, "That's what I need, a new suit."

The elderly salesman eyed him quickly and said, "Let's see, you're a size 44 long."

Joe laughed and said, "That's right, how did you know?"

"Been in the business 60 years!"

Joe tried on the suit. It fit perfectly. As Joe admired himself in the mirror, the tailor asked, "How about a new shirt?" Joe thought for a moment and then said, "Sure."

"Let's see, 16 and a half neck, 34 sleeve."

Joe was surprised. "How did you know?"

"Been in the business 60 years." The shirt fit perfectly.

As Joe looked at himself in the mirror, the salesman said, "You could use new shoes."

Since Joe was on a roll, he said, "Sure."

The man eyed Joe's feet and said, "9-1/2E."

Joe was astonished. "That's right. How did you know?"

"Been in the business 60 years." Joe tried on the shoes and they also fit perfectly.

As Joe walked comfortably around the shop, the salesman asked, "How about new underwear?"

Joe thought for a second and said, "Why not."

The man stepped back, eyed Joe's waist and said, "Let's see, size 36."

Joe laughed. "Finally I've got you! I've worn size 32 since I was 18 years old."

The tailor shook his head. "You can't wear a size
32. Size 32 underwear would press your testicles against the base
of your spine and give you one hell of a headache."

Maybe. I can sympathize with his family.  But I can't say that when I heard about his passing I thought any more about it than, "oh".

WTF #2... Robin Williams suicide... Damn.

Never understand why 'common' people get upset over celebrity deaths.  I never knew Robin Williams, so I can't say I was moved one way or the other at news of his passing.  No offense.

Agreed.  My wife and I get into heated debates about this, but it's mainly due to my lack of knowledge around depression and personal experience with it.  I don't know anyone who has/d a fatal case, is dealing with it, etc that is close to me or that would have a substantial impact(granted most are silent battles).  But I am also of the feeling that his nurturing and decision making lead to depression or his inability to 'fight it'.  He wasn't born 'depressed', he let bad thoughts grow and take over his life where there should have been love, fulfillment, and a will to live embedded by his family and friends.  Life is about battles, we all face them, it's just too bad he wasn't able to overcome them.

I don't think that was aimed at me because I couldn't agree more.  Besides, I'd have to be getting some pussy in order to be whipped.  I am however, guilty of trying to keep the peace in my house.  Catching shit here will ALWAYS be easier than having to listen to the warden rant.

Wasn't aimed at you. Aimed at wherever this "pussywhipped" thing came from, I guess I missed it's origination. Not that I particularly care. Internet bullying and fighting is for 12 year old girls.

THAT is the last I'll speak of it!

That's fine, but can you at least tell us about your liquor store trip so we can laugh at what you buy after you leave. That's how it works, right?

Three pumpkin beers showed up in the mail today! And this weekend, Alesmith is releasing a coffee peanut butter stout.

Go.
OMG! What temp will it be stored at?  Poured into a snifter or pilsner glass?  Relative humidity while being consumed? ;)

Don't get me wrong. You don't have to be queer all the time. Some of the best tasting beers I've had are after a hot afternoon of working in the yard. An ice cold Coors light can be amazing. Like making love in a canoe... fucking close to water, but amazing none-the-less.

Add some ice cream salt too. That shit will almost freeze up. Rinse it off first before you deepthroat it though. Just to get to salty taste off... if you drink from the container.

Here in the midwest, where we get a lot of humidity in the summer, a lot of the point of koozies is to keep the condensation off wherever the beverage is sitting, table, counter, etc.

Did anyone really win? I've been to Gettysburg. Not many winners there.
Yes, we did

Way to go Tony. That was 3 hours ago. Glad we waited for that.

In other timely news, the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Robustos were on FreeFall yesterday for 10/35.32
I can see the wounds are still too fresh, I'll back off

It's all good. Just glad to see you woke up. Started to wonder if that epidural got crossed up with a lobotomy.

Thanks for getting that done Tony, now GFY!(Tuesday protocol)
No problem.  I was trying to avoid creating a group just for one person but it's fine.  Drastic changes are a coming though.
Automatically blocking all yellow stars and blue balls? Good call, long time coming.
And Steves.
Fixed it
No, I fixed it back .  Without Daves, I may as well not renew the domain name.

... and koosies. What's the point? Beer's gonna be gone before it gets warm. If you need it, you're drinking too damn slow.
Here in the midwest, where we get a lot of humidity in the summer, a lot of the point of koozies is to keep the condensation off wherever the beverage is sitting, table, counter, etc.

I get it, Dave. Warden probably makes you use coasters too. Whipped!

Beyond that the 3 couples each do a "Drink of The Day" which they kep secret and furnish ingredients seperately. At the end of the trip we divide up what's left in blind auction fashion

We started out 4 years ago doing individuals, so 6 days of DotD plus everything else was a bit much. We toned it down to couples, every other day. This is what we're going with this year - http://www.threeolives.com/recipe/559

Bunch o' downers here this morning.  I'm about to crack one of these ST Pumkings that just arrived from Tim Gervase...
Let me know your thoughts, always looking for a good fall beer.
Never bad to start with the Sam Adams Fall Seasonal Assortment.
I still have a 12 from last fall.  Hope it isn't skunky.

Should be fine as long as you stored it away from sunlight.

The Drink of The Day thing isn't that easy. Over the years we've made a bunch of recipes. Can't be too heavy, have to please both genders, can't be too strong or people will drown in the ocean. We went with a flavor vodka nobody in our group has had. My one BIL is making a cocktail with Fireball, should be interesting. The other couple spent $90 at the store to try 2 drinks and they said both sucked so back to square one

WTF, MFers!

CI deals really sucking today. So, no surprises so far.
So don't buy anything, jackass!

Maybe I won't. Who asked you anyway? GFY!
You did, when you said WTF, MFers

That was a greeting. Like whats happnin'. Sorry for the confusion. A good indication for a question is usually [?] at the end... or [. ?]
Friggin' Southerners!

Well, it's not like Jersey Shore made ya'll look any better, Snookums. Now go GTL yourself.
Are you still mad that the North won the war?

Did anyone really win? I've been to Gettysburg. Not many winners there.
Yes, we did

Way to go Tony. That was 3 hours ago. Glad we waited for that.

In other timely news, the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Robustos were on FreeFall yesterday for 10/35.32
I can see the wounds are still too fresh, I'll back off

It's all good. Just glad to see you woke up. Started to wonder if that epidural got crossed up with a lobotomy.
Ha! Actually I was out liquor shopping for OBX next week, spent $750 and we don't buy beer until we get down there

I don't know. You sure you got enough? I mean it is a week.  ;)

What was the spendy item? Really, $750 seems excessive.
It is excessive. No real expensive stuff, bought 1 bottle worth $65, everything else is all median stuff just lots of it. Beyond that the 3 couples each do a "Drink of The Day" which they kep secret and furnish ingredients seperately. At the end of the trip we divide up what's left in blind auction fashion

So, I guess you get 2 days. What's your mix?
We started out 4 years ago doing individuals, so 6 days of DotD plus everything else was a bit much. We toned it down to couples, every other day. This is what we're going with this year - http://www.threeolives.com/recipe/559

The regular Three Olives is pretty good. Only flavored 3-O I've tried was the Grape.

WTF #2... Robin Williams suicide... Damn.

Never understand why 'common' people get upset over celebrity deaths.  I never knew Robin Williams, so I can't say I was moved one way or the other at news of his passing.  No offense.
I think it's because you're a cold hearted son of a bitch.  Sad when anyone with mental illness, loses the battle.  I would have the same reaction if someone tells me that a colleague with three kids killed himself, even if I never met the person.

Maybe. I can sympathize with his family.  But I can't say that when I heard about his passing I thought any more about it than, "oh".
I'm sad for the loss of an exceptional talent and unique skillset.  No I didn't hang with the guy, but I thoroughly enjoyed his movies, TV appearances and standup.  Like George Carlin, he had a truly unique angle on life and was able to put it in a unique light.  The loss is in what cannot be replaced and the waste of talent that still had more to give.  A good entertainer should not be undervalued as to their service to the larger whole.  Be they musician, artist, actor or performer.

While we still have a little summer, go with an Island Girl   [ 1 1/2 oz. Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum
1 oz. orange juice, 1 oz. pineapple juice, 2 oz. lemon-lime soda]
or my Bermudan favorite  Dark and Stormy (just don't add lime like some people do around here)  Just Dark Rum [Goslings Black Seal] and Ginger Beer.  As for Fireball, mix with RumChata, equal parts...it tastes like a cinnamon bun.  Better to save for the winter season.  Here's a couple of others...http://hot-tub-blog.spadepot.com/top-6-summer-cocktails-recipes.html?gclid=CJuqvMSpjsACFSxk7AodAywAPw

Here in the midwest, where we get a lot of humidity in the summer, a lot of the point of koozies is to keep the condensation off wherever the beverage is sitting, table, counter, etc.

I get it, Dave. Warden probably makes you use coasters too. Whipped!

Well said.
Just released as a death by hanging, with a belt, in his bedroom.

What? Are you playing Clue?

Oh boy, that's not pretty
Also minor-ly slit wrists and a bloody knife was found

Well, I was going to possibly go with a Carridine reasoning, but the attempted slit wrists rules that out.

Appears he had made his decision if he actually went with a second option.

I'm thinking he "couldn't" do it that way and went with plan b, just a guess tho.  Can't imagine one's mental state when contemplating that.

I still have a dozen left from the first jar. I only have one every 2-3 weeks or so. Age seems to be doing them well. Even though it's only been a few months. Took them out of the foil too.

I will buy them in 2mo if they are still there.  1 jar smoking, 1 jar out of foil, 1 jar still in foil...will see how they age.  Pete says to keep them in the foil until smoking, but once the seal is broken I think it's a free for all after that(wow that could sound REALLY bad)
