Light Bulb
-------------------------

How many online forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.

53 to flame the spell checkers.

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames.

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"...another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".

15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct.

156 to email the participant's ISPs complaining that they are in violation of their "acceptable use policy".

109 to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb group

203 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum, and lightbulb group about changing light bulbs be stopped.

111 to defend the posting to this group saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this group.

306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty.

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's.

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group.

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

19 to quote the "Me too's" to say "Me three".

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ.

44 to ask what is a "FAQ".

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

143 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs".

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again....
I need to save this for the future.
Very appropriate.  Thanks, Chip.

They said 3-4 weeks from the original procedure until she's allowed to lift more than 10 pounds. She'll go back soon and work in the office or host, then be back serving around the middle to end of this month.

We try to do it a little at a time and take the bigger things that we never should have saved to the dump.  Warden is pretty good about it - although she is the one that created most of the mess.  My stuff is in the garage.

Good morning, gentlemen.
Chip is gone, just us degenerates here. Morning, Tony.
No, I was confident when I wrote that.  I definitely meant gentlemen.  Glad to hear the wifey is starting to feel better.
Definition of confidence - Coming home at 3 in the morning, stinking of gin, kicking the bed and saying "ok, you're next".
Lol.  Confident but dumb.
Hi Tony.
Howdy, Tom.  Big weekend plans?
Just trying to get stuff ready for the kids to take back to school.  How about you?
The wife made plans to dump the kids at her mom's and wants me to clean out the unfinished basement.  I guess the hopes there are that we can prep it for finishing.  She's still in bed though and I'm not gonna go disturb it.  :)
Where are you supposed to put all the stuff?
In bags to throw out?  Considering getting one of those container bags from Waste Management.  Any suggestions?
We try to do it a little at a time and take the bigger things that we never should have saved to the dump.  Warden is pretty good about it - although she is the one that created most of the mess.  My stuff is in the garage.
If I ever get around to clearing the garage, it will become my smoking room.  We've only been in this house 10 years, I'll get around to it.
I would like to get rid of some of the stuff so I can get another car in there.  Every time the kids get back from school their junk gets added to the mess.

Good morning men. Had the day off yesterday for my daughters birthday, went to the Camden Aquarium then out to Hibachi last night. What did I miss yesterday?
We pissed off Fred Bob enough that he deleted his account, Joe bought 2 singles that will surely come with tobacco beetles and Dean met up with a lady friend to have Chinese and give her his peanut sauce.
Thats hilarious, did he actually delete his account?

Nine Thoughts to Ponder

Death is the number 1 killer in the world.

Life is sexually transmitted.

Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

Men have two emotions: hungry and horny, and they can't tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks, months, maybe years.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of nothing.

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

In the 60s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal.

Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers. What you do today might burn your butt tomorrow.

...and as someone recently said to me:

Don't worry about old age; it doesn't last that long.

We pissed off Fred Bob enough that he deleted his account, Joe bought 2 singles that will surely come with tobacco beetles and Dean met up with a lady friend to have Chinese and give her his peanut sauce.
Thats hilarious, did he actually delete his account?
Yep, not on the member's list anymore.
Thats unbelievable, what a puss
The star changes made everyone all sensitive and whatnot, I guess. Let's start talking about our feelings.
I think you're right.  I thought it was the gloomy weather but I think my vagina hurts too.
My ovaries start to hurt whenever someone talks about kittens or unicorns.
Thanks for sharing.  Koombayah and all that jazz.  Time for me to head back to the basement.  I probably won't be back before hazzuh time so take care of yourself, Dave... And those sensitive ovaries.
Always, my friend. Always.

looks like I will be better off skipping mine, amazing how people we grew up with look like they have aged so much more than we did.
You, sir, have a talent.
You may have forgotten to add that NJDave is old and heading to an old persons' convention and Chip isn't too far behind.
It's going to be a hopping evening!

Exactly....I thought I was showing wear until I saw some of the folks last night.... Then again, a few look simply amazing.

The Calendar or Rhythm method of naturally spacing births, often blamed for the large size of Catholic families vs the Sympto-Thermo method also known as Natural Family Planning (NFP), which has been found to be highly effective with the added bonus that there is also a very low divorce rate among couples who practice it (because it promotes communication & mutual respect between husband & wife).  After I dropped the joke I just read a good article on it. There's also an even more refined version that's also been very effective in helping use the same tools to help infertile couples to conceive naturally.  Developed by an OB/GYN in Omaha, NE., Thomas W. Hilgers, MD, called NaPro Technology ... associated with Creighton University. (in case anyone is interested or know someone who could be helped by this info.)

Back to cigars ... One of the best ISoKW smokes I've had was a black & silver labeled corona given to me by a German journalist based in DC who could get them legally through the German Embassy.  It lasted at least 40 minutes & it was wonderful!

Developed by an OB/GYN in Omaha, NE.
LOL.  I was too lazy to Google it.  I should have known that.  Anyhoo, I'm all about abstinence.  :)
Not on purpose though.
What's choice have to do work it?

I'm not smoking nor herfing enough.  I really want to start using the calendar the way it was meant to be used.  I'll have to put my money where my mouth is and set something up, pronto.

Sorry, I didn't greet everyone. Evening all y'all.  I wanted to let you know about a nice cigar dinner my blind CiL Gene invited me to Thursday evening.  He has a group of 4-5 guys that meet to herf on Tuesday evenings on his deck for adult beverages & fine smokes.  One of them (most lawyers) has a country club membership which hosted the event.  Members were allowed to invite guests which is how riff raff like me got through the door of the sumptuous club house onto the white canopy covered patio.  Walking out, the bar was setup to the right with some excellent bourbons, scotches, rye, etc.  Beer available also.  After getting your drink, next was the cigar table where the regional Davidoff rep or local B&M sponsor would toast your Camacho Ecuadoran Habano (blue label).  While we are mingling, puffing, sipping waitstaff are bringing about finger food (see how I shied away from having to spell Horse Devors?), including real fresh fried shrimp (not some frozen mush).  Then, first course of Crab Imperial is served (this is just north of Baltimore, so this is the real stuff), then chopped salad, steak dinner (salmon for me), wine, dessert table (didn't hit that until my way out).  After the main course, a cigar bag with two new cigars & plastic cutter were brought to the tables by the two reps with a brief description of the second & third cigars with some encouragement to light up #2 with some port, coffee or more scotch.  The Johnny Walker Black 12 year was tasting remarkably good, so I went with that.  Second cigar was an AVO TA Maduro (only available at 75 B&Ms nationally), #3 was a Room
101 The Big Payback.  Camacho was excellent beyond my expectations, so was the AVO.  It was one of those evenings, great weather, beautiful views of the golf course, and good company with interesting and witty guys.  Some of them buy from CI, while also supporting the B&M & a couple have been to CFest in the past.

Very cool, Sly.  Please send my regards to Gene, the next time you talk to him.

I'm going to start posting with far less frequency because, quite frankly, this drama is childish and embarrassing to be associated with. Drink and smoke what you like. Let others do the same. Sheesh.

Smoking a good cigar and drinking a good beer tonight, and I'll leave it at that.

I'm gonna post more, for all the same reasons.  I'm not smoking tonight but I did drink a Sam Adams Ruby Mildwhich I enjoyed a lot.  I'm fact, I'm gonna go get another.

Thanks, Tony.  It wasn't a "look at me" post, but because some met Gene at CFest, and
might appreciate the ambience and smokes of an event like this.

Lol, who am I kidding? I'll post as much as ever. I don't give a shit what others think. But I'm going to go part time at my current job when I start my internship with the county in a month or so and I don't think they're as lenient with internet use.

Don't do it, Joe! Laugh, and ignore. Your posts, and contributions are great. I don't usually apologise, but I'm a pain at times, so sorry about it to all! We used to say GFY! with a chuckle. Lets go back to that, it was all in good fun. But, what do I know, maybe we are growing tired of it all! I hope not, but we will see.
