Dean DOES realize that a guy from Upstate NY retiring and relocating to FL isn't exactly a new fucking concept, right?

Hey Texas Dave....thought you said LSU didn't have a game this week?  They have a good one with Wisconsin on Sat.
Well hell I better look at the schedule closer I guess cause I did not think they did.  Thanks for taking care of the elderly.
What the hell LSU vs Wisconsin playing in Houston?????  The world is upside down must be bowl season at the beginning of the year rather than the end I guess.
  9:00 PM....all about the money.
What isn't?

Scott, you were made for Tuesdays and despite what everyone else said, you were missed last week.  But in keeping with the spirit, you're still a dick.
To be accurate.....5 dicks!

No drinking at the gov't job, that's for sure.  Not even girly peanut butter beers.  Did have a girly Pumking beer the other day.  Not bad at all.  Couldn't drink it every day but it was better than any other pumpkin beer I've had.  Also had a girly mint chocolate porter that made me gag.  First beer in a long time that I haven't finished.  Morning, Scott.

Agreed.  Clemson also suggested your new QB....hope he's decent.  Yea, Braxton Miller hasn't been right since the bowl game against Clemson.  All the things we're doing to help out a fellow ACC'er.

Team effort, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see VaTech choke that game away.

Morning, all.  At the 'old' office for a bit this morning.  Kinda strange spending some of the time at a small, private ad agency and the rest of the time with the gov't.  Couldn't be more opposite.
Morning Joe, one may need to drink to cope

No drinking at the gov't job, that's for sure.  Not even girly peanut butter beers.  Did have a girly Pumking beer the other day.  Not bad at all.  Couldn't drink it every day but it was better than any other pumpkin beer I've had.  Also had a girly mint chocolate porter that made me gag.  First beer in a long time that I haven't finished.  Morning, Scott.
Hey Joe.  I'm not a mint fan to begin with, but I almost gagged reading this.

Morning, Tony.  Toothpaste would've been a better name for the beer. Terrible.   I'm not a huge mint fan, either, not really sure why I tried it.

deadbeat boy just left. stopped to say goodbye and wish me well.
Guess the only one you'll be sad to leave is your daughter.
other than my daughter there's nothing much in NY that I'll miss.
Let's talk in 6 months when you've had it with the Elio-like pizza.
LOL, that's the truth. Went to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza for the 1st time yesterday, fantastic. Had the sausage/broccoli rabe pie, so friggin' good
I've heard nothing but great reviews for that place.  We have a couple of them close by but I have yet to try it.
Well, time to get with the program, don't you think?
Speaking of programs, when's our next outing?
Yeah!?
Well, there's next Tuesday in Union....
What's your suggestion?  I have a lot more flexibility than you two.
When are you gonna be in town again?  I can't do next Tuesday but I was thinking we could do the following:

http://cartonbrewing.com/#!/#contact

And then go somewhere cigar friendly afterwards.

This really needs to change, talk about CI copy being lame!

Note to self, TXDave laughed.
Add another note to yourself - he farted too.
I don't capture that granular detail.  That's BD.  But thanks for sharing.
Let's hope it's not granular....
time for some new shorts
Lol.  Good morning, Tom.
Hi Tony.  Just checking in between meetings.
Same here.  I'd say sheesh to the meetings but I fear there won't be meetings in my future.

Rumor has it, it'll be the biggest layoff since 2012.  My boss's boss was questioning my timesheets earlier today.  I should be used to this bullshit by now.

Sounds like the company my mother in law works for.  They've basically told her that she's training her replacements in Mexico.  2 for 1 down there... takes twice the employees to do the same job but they're cheaper. She does something with software, not sure what exactly.  I believe she 'fixes' it when something goes wrong.  And it's been the same thing for the past 5-10 years so she never really knows when to take it seriously.  And this time is the 'big one'.  I don't think they have offices on the east coast, but maybe?  Company starts with an "E"...

Just kidding.  Though if that Mint Chocolate Porter was the first beer I'd ever had, it'd also have been my last.  Currently pricing growlers/fills from Alpine Beer Co.  Little better deal than bottles.  Growlers seem to be 64 ounces for the price of 44oz in bottles.  Buy two get one free, basically.  Gotta get the labor day drinking plans in order.

The thing that makes Alpine Beer's growlers attractive is that MOST of their beer is only available that way.  They bottle a handful of their beers but not regularly, and you can pretty much only find them at the brewery.  If I'm gonna drive out there for a beer or two that I'm gonna drink that day, may as well just go with a growler. And even their more limited bottlings are almost always available in a growler.  They're a real small brewery.  Somewhere like Ballast Point, on the other hand, mostly only has their regular stuff in growlers, so there's no sense in driving all the way out there to save a couple bucks on a bulk purchase.

Now here boys is the perfect combination - one of the best Pizza's in town with a fine brewery next door i am told.  Will be testing it all out as soon as the weather cools a bit.

Wouldn't mind at all joining you there.  Jester King was featured recently in Texas Highways.
Well we will put a visit together.  Only about 15-20 minutes from home for me.
More like an hour for me.  Probably why I've never been there.
There is an olive farm down near there too that has wonderful quality olive oils and balsamic vinagers.
Something tells me you can't light up at Jester King, though.  Not in Austin per se, but still wouldn't be surprised.
I would certainly doubt it too.

Olive oils and vinegars, no smoking... sounds like California.
Just a suburb of San Jose here, sometimes referred to as San Jose East.  +/- 120-130 people a day move to Austin and most of them are from California.

I'm not a huge fan of 'northern' California, which is basically anything north of San Luis Obispo.  Anything north of Sacramento is a whole different planet.

Been there.  Worked on the road into Sequoia National Park for 7 months and saw a fair amount of the state during that time.  Great weather and beautiful places all over but not much else for me. Hell outside of Hollywood you might be the only cigar smoker in the state or at least the only one that admits it.  Lived in Three Rivers and it was a pretty neat little place but that was also 20 years ago.

Well douches?  Nothing?

Legalize marijuana, make tobacco illegal.  Go figure.  I just buy and smoke and let the politicians deal with that nonsense.  If cigars disappeared off the face of the earth tomorrow I'd have plenty to smoke for a long time.

I was born in San Jose.  Kinda surprised many people would make the connection between Austin and San Jose. I see the connection, just surprised the rest of the world picks up on it.  It's probably more accurate to call Austin "Palo Alto East", but I'd expect even fewer people to make that connection.

Damn hour and a half left and I am sooooo ready to get the hell out of here.  Man i could not stand it if I had to work in the office all the time.  2 weeks in here has about killed me.  Ahhh only 1.5 days in here next week and 2 the nexxt week that is more like it.

Sounds great, Tony Romo!  Only about 45 minutes left here today for me, too.
Please not that!  I am a Drew Breeze type in reverse he is from Austin lives in Louisiana and I am from Louisiana live in Austin.  GO SAINTS!

Indeed.  But good luck, Shaun.  I'm enjoying being back in school and I HATED undergrad (the school part, anyway).  But no "FMLs" or such nonsense.  You signed up for it, nobody's gonna feel bad for you.  I assume being unsure why you're doing it is just you being facetious.  If there wasn't a somewhat specific 'end goal' in mind, grad school would've eaten me alive by now.

Thanks Joe.  There is an end goal, granted it wont amount to an immediate opportunity(at least not looking for that but who knows), more of a pre-planning for what's to come in life and a hedge against the rest of the job market field when the time comes.

That's why, but it's not usually an entrance requirement.  A lot has to do with the amount of applicants in this part of the country.  Get em in the program, get em vested, then have them take it...don't make it a barrier to entry.

Oh boy.  Colleague just stopped in to share a cigar with me.  He just received the box in the mail.  I didn't have the heart to tell him how horrible I think Victor Sinclair's are.  True story.
Don't know who to feel sorry for you or him, guess him cause he actually paid money for them.
Woof...that's unfortunate.  CI and their damn delicious descriptions!

He told me he enjoys mild cigars because he inhales them.  I'm gonna have to put together a care package for him.

First real MBA class tonight...FML...still unsure why I am doing this.  Hope I am not allergic to homework anymore like I was from the ages of 13-22!
You never get over such allergies - been there done that.
Nice call.  Mind the wood chipper.

Got it, Jerry Lundegaard?
Thanks Joe.  There is an end goal, granted it wont amount to an immediate opportunity(at least not looking for that but who knows), more of a pre-planning for what's to come in life and a hedge against the rest of the job market field when the time comes.
I get to start thinking about my thesis tonight...woof.  Maybe something with cigars... ;)

I am excited to be around professionals, not a bunch of 'kids'...that should help.

Got it Matthews!

Interacting with other 'professionals'/adults has definitely made it easier to stay motivated, that's for sure, Jerry Lundegaard.  That's it.  North Dakota just has that one thing.

Nice call.  Mind the wood chipper.

Be aware that there still is a mix of 2012 [white label] and 2013 [black label] out on the market.  I preferred the 2012, but didn't bother getting any of the 2013 to keep.
