Notice to All EMS Personnel
-------------------------

From: Chief of Operations
Subject: Proper Narrative Descriptions

It has come to our attention from several emergency rooms that many EMS
narratives have taken a decidedly creative direction lately. Effective
immediately, all members are to refrain from using slang and abbreviations
to describe patients, such as the following.

a.. Cardiac patients should not be referred to as suffering from MUH
(messed up heart), PBS (pretty bad shape), PCL (pre-code looking) or HIBGIA
(had it before, got it again).
b.. Stroke patients are NOT "Charlie Carrots." Nor are rescuers to use
CCFCCP(Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs) to describe their mental state.
c.. Trauma patients are not CATS (cut all to sh*t), FDGB (fall down, go
boom), TBC (total body crunch) or "hamburger helper." Similarly,
descriptions of a car crash do not have to include phrases like "negative
vehicle to vehicle interface" or "terminal deceleration syndrome."
d.. HAZMAT teams are highly trained professionals, not "glow worms."
e.. Persons with altered mental states as a result of drug use are not
considered "pharmaceutically gifted."
f.. Gunshot wounds to the head are not "trans-occipital implants."
g.. The homeless are not "urban outdoorsmen," nor is endotracheal
intubation referred to as a "PVC Challenge."
h.. And finally, do not refer to recently deceased persons as being "paws
up," ART (assuming room temperature), CC (Cancel Christmas), CTD (circling
the drain), DRT (dead right there) or NLPR (no long playing records).

I know you will all join me in respecting the cultural diversity of our
patients to include their medical orientations in creating proper narratives
and log entries.

Police shot a suspect after "multiple buildings" were fired on in downtown Austin, authorities in the Texas capital said early Friday. The city's police headquarters was among those targeted. It was evacuated.

NBC station KXAN reported that a bomb robot was examining a device left near the police department's headquarters.

Three ambulances were at the scene but at 5 a.m. local time (6 a.m. ET) officials said they were awaiting clearance from police to approach the wounded suspect amid fears the suspicious object may be a "booby-trap," Austin Travis County EMS spokesman Mike Benavides said.

Yeah just like somebody else he thinks he can rule by executive order.
Yea....but they can.....
There are hackers and trolls available to riot.  John Boner does not control impeachment here. :)

Damn, this is 3 blocks down the street from my office!  Glad I am off today.

Shots Fired at Austin's Police Headquarters, 'Multiple Buildings'

Update:   Suspect is no longer wounded, he is Dead Rat There.
Also shot up the Federal Courthouse and the Mexican Consulate, both downtown.  Dead body still lying in the street because he is wearing a suspicious vest.

Hi Shaun .....  I cooked a 6 lb. turkey breast on my bbq grill in about 1 hours.  I think I used a little too much charcoal.  It was black. I went ahead and close some of the vents and cooked it another hour to make sure the inside was done.  All the skin on the outside of the turkey was black.  I tapped on the skin and it all just crumbled and fell off.  It turned out to still be nice and moist on the inside and a great smoked flavor...  I guess I knew what I was doing after all... :)

If it were me, I would get a TV solely based on picture, but it if came 'smart' that's just a bonus.  Just don't pay more than $30 for a 'smart' version, cause the other streaming devices start around that price and are much more powerful.

Good morning Native.
So, did you have 8 broccoli casseroles yesterday?
7 Swans A Swimming....beer..
So did you watch the Macy's Parade and see Thomas the Tank Engine on that new 60" Samsung?
That would have been nice to see...  Still no TV yet.  I'm having a problem in making up my mind.  I'm not sure if it's from getting older, or too many choices..? My parents just got a new 55 inch 4k something or another. Has a little camera that flips up on the top and allows you to Skype. Meanwhile, I still have the same tv I've had since we moved into our house 10.5 years ago.
We have a 42" rear projection Sony that we've had for about 15 or so years.  It had a fantastic picture on it until about a year ago when it started pixelating real bad.  I believe it needs a new light engine which costs about $150 if you put it in yourself.  Also a new projecting lamp is around $125, if the one in it should happen to go out.  I figured it just time for a new one.  We had a 40" flat screen in the bedroom for 4 years, and the extended warrantee was about to expire, so I had the Geek guy come out and check it out. He found something wrong with it, and gave us a new nicer one.  So, I'm pretty happy with Best Buy and the Geek Squad.

Of everything I have, I love Netflix the best.  I just have the one at a time movie deal for $8-$9, and it's so nice to just drop in into the mail.  I think I'm spending $100 a month for Dish TV, and I swear, I have one favorite channel (TCM) and my wife has the Hallmark Channel.  Other than that, it seems like I'm wasting $100 a month.  $9 Netflix and $9 for Hula streaming keeps getting more and more attractive.

Damn, this is 3 blocks down the street from my office!  Glad I am off today.

Shots Fired at Austin's Police Headquarters, 'Multiple Buildings'

Update:   Suspect is no longer wounded, he is Dead Rat There.
Problem solved.
And he will not do it again either!  They seem to believe there is a bomb in his vehicle (late model white dodge mini-van) parked by the cop shop. Two robots working over the vehicle.  Got the Interstate closed in the middle of downtown and that in itself is chaos.

Guess GSA low-bid bullet-proof glass is not quite up to par.

A U.S. Marshal tells KXAN officers found about 30 shell casings in the alley behind the Federal Courthouse. It appears the gunman was aiming at high windows as well as a guard shack. The bullets penetrated “bullet-proof” windows.

SWAT officers have swarmed the shooter’s apartment complex at on Hollow Creek. The complex has been evacuated as officers search for any potential explosives.

Heating up some Philly Cheesesteak soup for lunch...we shall see.
Had some Panera myself. Om nom nom.
Leftover Thanksgiving all over again for me.  Still good too.
Only problem with visiting....no leftovers.
Yeah I like the leftovers for a day or two.
Gotta bring your own tupperware, rookies!
How could there be any leftovers where you ate?
Well, I didn't invite Tony...

Sorry for the delay.  Apparently the kids wanted to eat and then I had to take my one to dance class.

Thanksgiving was great.  Ate too much, of course.

No shopping today nor am I happy about having to do any of it anytime prior to my demise.  (Cigar shopping doesn't count and I never get to do that anyway.)
