Don't be a turkey!  Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a beverage of your choice and welcome aboard!

The History of Teaching Math
-------------------------

Teaching Math in 1950:
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5
of the price. What is his profit?

Teaching Math in 1960:
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5
of the price, or $80. What is his profit?

Teaching Math in 1970:
A logger exchanges a set "L" of lumber for a set "M" of money. The
cardinality of set "M" is 100. Each element is worth one dollar. Make 100 dots
representing the elements of the set "M". The set "C", the cost of
production contains 20 fewer points than set "M". Represent the set "C" as a subset
of set "M" and answer the following question: What is the cardinality of the
set "P" of profits?

Teaching Math in 1980:
A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is $80
and his profit is $20. Your assignment: Underline the number 20.

Teaching Math in 1990:
By cutting down beautiful forest trees, the logger makes $20. What do you
think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after
answering the question? How did the forest birds and squirrels feel as the logger
cut down the trees? There are no wrong answers.

Teaching Math in 2000:
By laying off 402 of its loggers, a company improves its stock price from $80
to $100. How much capital gain per share does the CEO make by exercising
his stock options at $80. Assume capital gains are no longer taxed, because
this encourages investment.

Teaching Math in 2010:
A company outsources all of its loggers. They save on benefits and when
demand for their product is down the logging work force can easily be cut
back. The average logger employed by the company earned $50,000, had 3
weeks vacation, received a nice retirement plan and medical insurance. The
contracted logger charges $50 an hour. Was outsourcing a good move?

Teaching Math in 2013:
A logging company exports its wood-finishing jobs to its Indonesian
subsidiary and lays off the corresponding half of its US workers (the higher-paid
half). It clear-cuts 95% of the forest, leaving the rest for the spotted owl,
and lays off all its remaining US workers. It tells the workers that the spotted
owl is responsible for the absence of fellable trees and lobbies Congress for
exemption from the Endangered Species Act. Congress instead exempts
the company from all federal regulation. What is the return on investment of
the lobbying costs?

That's why we're not in Fargo.  Morning Yellow star.
Good mornin Dave!  Picked up some goodies from the liquor store on Sunday: 3-ST Pumking, 1-Rogue Nut Brown Nectar, and 1-Green Flash Citra Session IPA
I have that same Rogue sitting in the fridge.  Not sure why I buy their stuff anymore, I'm not impressed.  Howdy, Shaun.
Take it to some herf and pass it off!
The problem with that is that it'll sit in the car all day.  I was thinking tequila.

And the best part, finally moved our mini fridge out to the garage - now it's stocked with quality beer!
Is that to keep the beer from freezing?

The garage doesn't get below freezing, but it can get close.  Usually is between 34 and 45deg - hopefully getting a heater sometime this winter

No - was a rough weekend.  Stomach flu is going around, she called in sick Friday night for work and was barfing so I went at had a cigar in the garage :)  Then Saturday I was gone all day building a workbench and drinking beer so I never even saw her that day.

I put him in the bath tub to see if he could swim... He drank up all the water and ate a bar of soap.....  And now he's in his bed with bubbles in his throat.... I asked my grandson if he knew any songs.  Yes pawpa, I know a church song.  I asked, "you mean a song that everyone stands up and church and sings...?"  Yes pawpa..  Well, I want to hear it, sing it to me...  -- I have a little turtle, his name is Tiny Tim.... I put him in the bath tub to see if he could swim... He drank up all the water and ate a bar of soap.....  And now he's in his bed with bubbles in his throat.... POP..!!!  And everyone stands in your church and sings that..?  Yes, pawpa..!  My daughter-in-law was standing in the background listening to us, and shaking her head. That must be some church..!  :)

G'Morning, felllas. Happy turkey week Monday!
Morning BS

Hey, Dave. Hemingways in stock at Famous now... if your still lookin'

Short Stories @$100 w/FREE ship after catsrule cpn.  ;)

I was following some Tat PCRs on the famous bid over the weekend but was busy working in the yard when they closed for $132 dammit

Shit! That would have been a steal. I do like how that site lets you know the future dates for items once you have something checked.
Agreed...those are tough to get a hold of!  Were they actually the reservas?
Yes they were
I like the site because you can mark favorites so I was ready for them just ran too long with the works and forgot. Would have been $138 shipped

Guess you saw the box of Sake bombs for tomorrow then... ps what's your user name? Don't want to bid vs someone I know.
I am following those also, same user name as here sfish - you?

No, just looking around, trying to find something. For example, Scary has PFs for $22, but if I'm not mistaken, isn't that the regular price? I mean, I think that's how much I paid when I bought a tin at the CI store. Seriously, how do you put that up as a deal?

Might have to re-think our plans for Thanksgiving at Travellin Dave's House.

East Coast Storm to Snarl Thanksgiving Travel

A storm with rain and heavy snow will cause major disruptions and delays for Thanksgiving travel on the East Coast and in the Appalachians.

Rain will initially spread northward along the Interstate-95 with snow and rain to start farther west in the I-81 corridor. However, a change to snow will take place from west to east from northern Virginia to New England.

The storm will bring mostly snow to the I-81 swath in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York state, as well as much of interior New England, where a general 6-12 inches of snow are forecast.

Wake up little snoozie

I don't know what the fuk is wrong with me now. I drank enough caffeine to jump start a truck, ;) but I'm drowsy as hell. May be because I just ate lunch and this damn office is like 95 fukin degrees.

Plus, Golf's early Hazzuh threw me all off.

I am trying to decide what kind of Pie I want for Thanksgivng so that is keeping me awake.  Other Suggestions welcome.   (I don't like Pumpkin, they are great for shooting with a  .220 Swift and blowing up or carving into scary things but not for eating or making beer)

Considering:   Apple w/ Ice Cream        Pecan      Coconut Cream

I like Pecan for sure.  We usually do a chocolate pie but had one of those for our little Thanksgiving dinner last week when our son was home as it is mine and his favorite so doing something different this week.

looking for today's ride home cigar myself.  at first glance, this Nica Rustica looks pretty ok.  They do age well.
on a side note I think those of you who maintain that a lot of AF configurations are better with less age on them are definitely on the right track.  I've tried a lot of his blends ott and after a few months and the longer they sit, the less flavor they have.

I am assuming you mean AJs?  I like the Diesel Unlimiteds with age, but the brown labels are awful with age.  A well aged d.X is awesome!

Yes, AJF...  I'm not a big fan of the unlimited line.  I've tried ott and aging with them too, but I guess I just don't like the blend as I've not cared for either.  I will admit they do change with aging.  I like the Unholy Cocktail's OTT, but they lose something after a month or so.

I think I wasn't in the right mood, plus I have a bit of a headache.  So I didn't enjoy it all that much.  Nice spices on it but I also think part of the issue was that I'm hungry.

City of St Louis is the one getting screwed they got nothing to do with it but get all the reference to it.  Ferguson is an incorporated city of 22,000 with its own government.  In fact St Louis is not even in that county.
