I've got 10.
10 here as well. I've read John Irving's work, but wouldn't know him to look at him.
But I've met Alvin Youngblood Hart, so that's something.
I actually do know what he looks like so I counted him in my 10.
Alvin is truly one of the most pleasant artists I've ever met. I met him in Tucson in the early 90s at the same show I first met Eric Bibb. Alvin had an aunt in Tucson. He was charming, accessible, polite...and his particular brand of blues utterly fascinated me. It was straight outta the 'hood, no other way to describe it. I've never heard an artist more honestly and successfully marry Blues tradition with hip-hop cultural idiom. Blew me away.
