Today's advice ...  Don't eat a bowl of chili before going to bed.  Otherwise you will be up at 2 O'clock drinking Alaka-Seltzer ...  ugh..!!!

I can't think of much to talk about except for my parakeet ...  He keeps picking up words to say, but I can't explain where he's picking them up except maybe the tv.  He asked my granddaughter, "Do you wear dentures...?"

I got a new catalog in the mail for pipes and tobacco...  I check out the address, and it's from Cigars International.  Maybe it's their Christmas catalog...?  It sure makes you want to buy a pipe..!  When I was in my early 20's, I went with a good friend to a tobacco store in St. Louis.  Josh's Pipe Shop, custom made pipes since the 1880's ....  But they sure went out of business fast in the 1980's when everyone turned against smoking...  Anyway, we each bought a briar pipe.  Being new to pipes, we knew you had to break them in.  We would fill them up with tobacco, light them, then hold them out of the car window and drive around.  It's seemed to work...  I bought some liquorice tobacco, and it was great.  But I was never able to find that blend again...  Oh well, the good ol days..!

my plan for the day.

Seafood Festival ...  That sounds nice.  We had 7" of snow yesterday night, so we won't be getting out much today.  We're also watching the grandkids today.  So, I'll be getting up later and cooking bacon and eggs.  That's what my grandson always wants for breakfast.

It's 30 degrees here, and going to get up to 49 degrees.  So maybe the snow won't last long, which is good..  Since no one around here seems to know how to drive on snow... or drive at all ..
