No chance of that in this case, too low profile.  Not even in the news.  Charged as aggravated assault but actually a domestic situation.

I don't know but would guess the City of Austin probably pays more than the District Courts. They pay their employees about double what counties and the state pays.  Town where I live does not have but about 3 or 4 jury trials a year have no idea if they even pay, just a corrupt kangaroo court that mostly collects traffic fines for the corrupt police police department.

Definitely not that but could carry some significant jail time so a fair and accurate decision is important.  We really don't know too much about the deal at all just what the charges are and what little could be interpreted from the questions.  Really a small case in a big City with 0 news coverage of it.  Judge has already given both sides a time constraint to be completed and to the Jury by around lunch Friday.

Morning Dean. Ready for the sunrise, I see.
He has some time yet, here is sunrise/sunset for Yanketown FL:
Sunrise: 7:23am
Sunset: 7:19pm
no sunrises worth watching on this coast, just enjoying a Camacho connie, coffee, and listening to the owls chatter back and forth.

good morning to the rest of you banterers that have showed up.
Sunsets are better anyway.
Sound level in KC last night at 142/2 decibels?  Yikes!

Selected for the criminal Jury yesterday.  Was up there till 6:30 yesterday evening fooling with that.  Trial should be finished by Friday afternoon which means I will spend my day off Friday in a damn courtroom.
Do you at least get paid?
Down here it's like 16.00 per day, it hurts those of us who don't get paid by work when you miss for Jury Duty.
Oh yeah it is a screw job if you are not paid.  Hell the jury pay at best covers the lunch you got to get around the courthouse.
That sucks. Even locally here in our city, I think it's $20. But I also get paid for it at work, so that makes it not too shabby. Though, the only time I've been called, I didn't ever have to report.
I know you want to wrap things up Dave, but remember this isn't a hangin' offense.
Sounds like he has plans for the weekend.

Would otherwise be stuck in the damn office other than Friday when I would be off.  Back on the road again starting next Thursday.

It is a She and seems very nice and reasonable.  They would never hold proceedings on a weekend for a small time deal like this they just put limits on things to keep the courts moving and try to be able to get good Jurors.

Oakland fires another coach.  If ever there was a franchise in disarray...
Maybe, just maybe, there's a new 'most dysfunctional team in the league', taking the title from the Browns. Ok, maybe not.

I honestly don't know how much I even won...I know I got $105ish for the Week 1-4 cumulative and I am guessing between $50-75 for the weekly winner.

CCom email deal:

Here it is, the Gurkha Cellar Reserve.

After receiving a 97 point rating and dubbed "The Cigar of the Decade" by Cigar Journal, this has been a tough cigar to get, especially at a reasonable price.  'Til now.

Gurkha Cellar Reserve "Prisoner" Salomon (7"x54 perfecto) (MSRP $239)

$175 per box of 20 plus free shipping!

To those of you who have tried one of these gems, you know the reason for the 97 rating.  To those who haven't tried one yet, here's a rare chance to get a box at a nice discount.  Judge this one for yourself, I know you'll like it.  So much so, in fact - if you buy a box and after smoking a couple don't feel they're worthy, I will send you a paid return label and get you a full refund once I get the box back.

Well, I guess I'll just have to post more!  8)
Exactly 3pump
Sounds like a good nickname for a sperm-donor!
So this is your "donation"?
Oh man, don't think I'll ever be able to eat pumpkin seeds again.
But they have our mark of approval!

It's easy.  They own you.  Meetings for 8 hours, then implement (actual work) for the next 8 hours, then try to get some rest but they'll probably call you in the middle of the night because they discovered an issue and will want to meet about it, in the morning.

Same thing with our scheduling nonsense. We make $80+ million a MONTH in profit, and we're worried about people being on hold for 4 minutes?

It's new construction, so it should be pretty lax.  I consider myself handy(only takes a couple pumps) but his wife will be there and since we are good friends she wanted someone who is a homeowner, and a male, also there.

Interesting... don't recognize it but that doesn't mean we don't get it out here.  I see new stuff every time I go to the shop.  I've only had a few beers in the past could days. New English "Zumbar" chocolate coffee imperial stout, which I liked, and a Lost Abbey "Judgement Day".  Ale brewed with raisins... interesting.  Sweet, kinda heavy.  Not something I'd rush to drink again but I would if offered.  Got a Victory at Sea chillin' in the fridge for later.

Going to a friends home inspection at 11a too since he couldn't get work off...going to need to banter my ass-off this afternoon!
You just letting them in, or are you knowledgeable in such matters?

Probably just sit on the doorstep.
Going to bring my own TP and see if I can clog his toilet for him

With all the fiber in your diet, I'm sure the TP won't be necessary for good clog.

Any thoughts on the Sam Leccia Luchador's on the Cigar.com deal?

http://www.cigar.com/DailyDeal/ccCigarDeals.asp
The two I had I thought were OK, nothing stood out with them.

I wanted to try them but was rather underwhelmed by the White and Black, so just haven't rushed to pick one up.  Haven't seen singles available at one of the B&Ms out here, and I haven't noticed whether or not Churchills carries them.

That's the same impression I had. Can't remember if Dusty said they were worth a shit or not. Not discounting you, NJDave. Just gathering multiple opinions.  ;D

That's a valuable service.  Write up a business plan and I think you have something there.  It would behoove a new homeowner to hire you and the service could pay for itself if you get the seller to lower the price or fix the plumbing.  You could also write off your Taco Bell at the end of the year.

Or I could buy a five pack, and when he asks to buy just one off of me, sell it to him.  Might actually see him later this week.  He's 'hosting' whiskey and cigars at his place.  AKA his wife doesn't allow him out any more.

Hello, Steve.

Did you say you've tried the Pumking? What about the Warlock?

I have tried both, courtesy of Scott.  The Pumking was certainly a good expression of pumpkin beer.  Very pumpkin-y, with a graham cracker taste that reminded me of pumpkin ice cream.  I preferred the Warlock, though.  Pumpkin flavors weren't as intense and the sweeter stout base seemed to compliment it more.  Pumking would be nice once or twice a year, but I'd put Warlock in my 'rotation' of peanut butter, coffee, and chocolate stouts that I love.

Yeah, I tend to prefer the heavier stuff.  But not TOO heavy - those bourbon barrel beers tend to be a bit much for me.  Just WAY too sweet most of the time, and too boozy.  Which is weird, because I drink bourbon all the time, but for some reason in beers it's overpowering to me.  I've had a few recently where barrel influence wasn't very heavy, but they're usually an easy pass when I see some sort of limited release on the shelf.  They're more expensive, too, so the decision to not buy them is even easier.

I would still say the Pumking is the best pumpkin ale I've ever had.  Souther Tier beers are great like that - they taste like what the label says it will.  Coronado Brewing put out a pumpkin beer that I'll try this weekend, too.

Back to cigars...

I tried a Cabaiguan in a sampler a while back and really enjoyed it. I have been looking to purchase more, but the price can be somewhat intimidating. Anyone else like these, and what's a good price to look for.

Also see it's available in a maduro... anyone?

Haven't shopped them much but feel like the lowest price I've seen has been at Cigar Auctioneer.  Couldn't tell you what the price is, though, I always miss the ends of the auction.  I just don't like them quite enough to justify the price, though I do enjoy them.  I've only had one maduro but I don't recall liking it as much as the non-maduro, whatever the wrapper was.  Also, not entirely sure which I've had (Cabaiguan, Cabaiguan RX, etc.).

Know what you mean about some of this stuff. I tried a Dragon's Milk, think it was New Holland. 10abv barrel aged stout. Had some difficulty finishing the 22, but finally downed it. Very boozy, and felt every bit of it. I recently re-visited with the 12oz versions. Easier to finish, but still very potent brews. Really got the bourbon flavor as well. You should give it a try if you haven't already... just to say you did. Ha!

I'll look for them at the shop.  Another brand that I haven't noticed but also haven't searched for.  I had an Epic Brewing "Big Bad Baptist" a few weeks ago that was good.  Bourbon barrel finished but wasn't over the top and I could easily make it through a 22oz bottle.  But when I first had Stone's WootStout 2.0, it took me 4 hours to make it through a bottle, haha.

It's new construction, so it should be pretty lax.  I consider myself handy(only takes a couple pumps) but his wife will be there and since we are good friends she wanted someone who is a homeowner, and a male, also there.

It's probably an easy pass given the variety of brewers in your area, but I think you'd appreciate it.

There is a new Sierra Nevada brewery going in Carolina. The BIL has set me up on a few limited releases because of that. Just not enough others in the area to get many of the options available out there. And if options do turn up, they are usually super limited. Talked to the shop owner when I picked up the Left Hand Octoberfest (which he only got 2 cases) about how he never has the shit I want that everyone is talking about... He's a good guy. We had a nice laugh which ended in, "no seriously".

Talked to the shop owner when I picked up the Left Hand Octoberfest (which he only got 2 cases) about how he never has the shit I want that everyone is talking about... He's a good guy. We had a nice laugh which ended in, "no seriously".

Just gotta build those relationships!  I have one shop here that has a ridiculous selection of whiskeys, beers, etc.  Been shopping there long enough that I usually get offered some 'special' stuff that he doesn't have out on shelves.  I'm still new to beer so I don't even know what those rare offerings are most of the time, but I take advantage of it with whiskey.  As for beer... I just roam the aisles and pick up whatever sounds good for now.

I might just go back and hit the sampler again. That is probably the best deal I'm gonna find. Famous had a good one with (2) Cabaiguan, (2) LaRiqueza, and (2) El Triunfador

All good smokes, imo
If you are looking for at Tatuaje sampler, I would suggest picking up the Pudgy Monsters box.  Nice variety, all are good, some are very good.  Within that sampler are two sticks called "Tiff" which are a Cabaiguan variant and are truly superior. (can't be purchased separately unfortunately).

Have you ever smoked the L'Atelier Lat46 Selection Speciale? That's a heck of a cigar IMO, stronger than the Cabaiguan for sure but on sale at Famous, tempting

Picked up my vcutter on the bid. Think I gave $26. Good deal since they usually go for almost 40 on the mash. Already had a cart going there, so it was a nice add on for a multiship. They are up all the time. Just don't get the finish choices you may prefer... if that matters to you.

I tried the Tiff and Chuck as there were two of each in the box.  Will start through the box in about a month.  Separate note, if you see the EPC 5th Anniversary or La Historia, be sure to give them a try.  Very different from each other, but solid in their own ways.  Would have gotten some to you, but my order arrived a week after my last visit.  Pretty reasonable by the box of 10 at Atlantic when in stock.  You wouldn't be sorry with that purchase.

That's the problem, I overthought it. How would you spend $200 on cigars? So many combinations and deals/jams that I couldn't decide. I was going to get the limited Tat Belle Encre Reserve in the travel humi, had CyB's in the cart with jam items, Tat lanceros with Mash items...still bought nothing

Oh, and good morning, Joe. GFY!

I just bought some Warlock and I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, prices on those were much more reasonable than I thought they'd be.  I'll get around to ordering them eventually.  Been smoking down some random odds and ends lately.  Maybe I'll smoke the Chuck and Tiff back to back tonight, see how crazy I feel like getting.

But as for those EPCs, I really haven't smoked one that I didn't enjoy, with exception maybe being the Elencos.  They're fine but I just don't like them nearly as much as any of the Short Runs and even some of his regular release stuff.

I might just go back and hit the sampler again. That is probably the best deal I'm gonna find. Famous had a good one with (2) Cabaiguan, (2) LaRiqueza, and (2) El Triunfador

All good smokes, imo
That sampler came free with the Tat Black Jar I bought, ridiculous really. The Cabaiguan was the best of the bunch in the sampler IMO

Think that's how I got mine too. I was already onboard with the LaRiqueza from the mash, so these were an after thought. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.

You ever pull the trigger on the tat lancero sampler?
No, dragged my feet trying every possible site and combination until they sold out, sheesh. I was trying to couple a mash item for free ship and I was looking for the Xikar V cutter and by the time it mashed the sampler was sold out. I'll regret that one I think

Shit, man. I thought for sure you'd get that for your bday.

Picked up my vcutter on the bid. Think I gave $26. Good deal since they usually go for almost 40 on the mash. Already had a cart going there, so it was a nice add on for a multiship. They are up all the time. Just don't get the finish choices you may prefer... if that matters to you.

NOTHING!?!

How 'bout some Namakubi's? You're fucking dead to me...  ;)

Well, I guess you won't be disappointed on what you bought yourself then.

For some reason, VIP Atlantic offers 5er of various Cabaiguans for less than box prices....Corona Extra 5/$27.95, Guapos 5/$34.95 [backorder] and Guapos 46 5/$28.95

Bit of a schedule change this month, Tuesday and Thursday nights are now 'free', which is nice.  Kinda opens up more evenings for me due to other commitments and whatnot.  When smoking 'distracted' with class or whatever else, I usually only reach for something I've smoked many times before, or something 'random' from the bottom of the humidor.  Tonight's distractions will be beer and whiskey.

NOTHING!?!

How 'bout some Namakubi's? You're fucking dead to me...  ;)

Well, I guess you won't be disappointed on what you bought yourself then.

Nice hidden post, rookie
I don't know what you mean... ;)

Nicely done.  I still haven't tried any of the Pudgy Monsters, maybe tonight.  I'll wait to see what you smoke, and then just copy you.
Well, as I said, already sampled the Tiff and Chuck.  Do the Chuck first, then the Tiff (without distraction).

Dan asked if you used a wooden match or a butane lighter?

I see where you're going with this but I was actually referencing something else.  But I should probably give ol' Dan a call and tell him to put some beers in the fridge now in case I do end up going over to his place on Thursday.  Also, I'll tell him that bringing Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey does NOT count as part of a whiskey bottle share.
I heard he was planning on Red Stag anyway.
....and butane for the Chuck, Tiff with a cedar spill

LOL, Red Stag... wouldn't surprise me.  I used the Tennessee Honey example because he's done it before.  Great way to never be invited to a bottle share ever again.

But you had some fine cigars on hold.... ::)
I have a box of Headley Grange Eminentes in a cart at Regency also, you gave me one of those and I loved it. Great deal there too
Wait till you try the Jericho Hill...
Oh geez

Back to cigars...

I tried a Cabaiguan in a sampler a while back and really enjoyed it. I have been looking to purchase more, but the price can be somewhat intimidating. Anyone else like these, and what's a good price to look for.

Also see it's available in a maduro... anyone?
If you are looking for at Tatuaje sampler, I would suggest picking up the Pudgy Monsters box.  Nice variety, all are good, some are very good.  Within that sampler are two sticks called "Tiff" which are a Cabaiguan variant and are truly superior. (can't be purchased separately unfortunately).

I might just go back and hit the sampler again. That is probably the best deal I'm gonna find. Famous had a good one with (2) Cabaiguan, (2) LaRiqueza, and (2) El Triunfador

Now that you said he is pretty much on house arrest, I almost feel bad for teasing. His wife must wear more than the pants.
Almost...

good afternoon gentlemen.
just back from shopping. bug dope and air-freshners. trying to track down a small de-humidifier. found out that with no A/C running and even just having the windows open and the fan in the camper going, it still gets mustly inside with this high humidity. always some bad with the good no matter where you live.

RP Fusion torp and Dr. Pepper, until my dinner date.

Afternoon, Sam

Not much activity it seems. Expected more out of 3Pump Shaun since he wasn't on much. He had to help inspect the neighbor, since her husband was tied up at work. Strange folks up there.
