Kids don't have school today, but I still have to drive out that way to pick up the oldest, who stayed at her friends house last night after they went to see Hadestown. I'm a little jealous, cause I wanted to see that.
What's the excuse for no school today?

Although my wife took the day off too but only because the kids do have school and she can have some peace and quiet for the day.

I'm in the office, by the way.
Lol, my middle kid actually asked the same thing last night. Honestly, not sure. They've had parent conferences the last 2 days, maybe they figured the teachers needed a day off after that?

And they get Monday AND Tuesday off for President's Day. I swear, this district takes days off like we're in France.
My kids are off the entire week starting on the 20th. I think they're calling it, winter recess.
Is that different from spring break, or in place of it?
In addition to. I think they get another week in April.

But what happens is that they eliminate the individual days off for Presidents, Veterans, Flag Day, etc.

Absolutely. I only see one other person in my area. Supposed to be in 3 days a week and I worked remotely on Monday and Wednesday already.

Sad day for Steeler Nation.

Longtime Steeler Paul Martha has passed away at 80 years old.
They're dropping like flies.

I don't think Friday would be the top choice for most as an office day.   :P

Burt Bacharach, dead at 94.
Pretty sure he outlived his fan base.
You might be right about that.

I don't know about that....I still like his music.
(except when he sang it.... ::) )

Rick, and of course all of you, I strongly encourage you to sample the (Espinosa) Knuckle Sandwich Connie.  Pricy but very tasty!
