Hooray For That Judge

In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the preparation for Easter and Passover holidays and decided to contact the local ACLU about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while the atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The ACLU jumped on the opportunity to once again pick up the cause of the godless and assigned their sharpest attorneys to the case.

The case was brought before a wise judge who after listening to the long, passionate presentation of the ACLU lawyers, promptly banged his gavel and declared, "Case dismissed!"

The lead ACLU lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? Surely the Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. And the Jews--why in addition to Passover they have Yom Kippur and Hanukkah... and yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!"

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said "Obviously your client is too confused to know about or for that matter even celebrate the atheists' holiday!"

The ACLU lawyer pompously said "We are aware of no such holiday for atheists, just when might that be, your honor?"

The judge said, "Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st!"

"The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.'" - Psalm 14:1, Psalm 53:1

And the Jews--why in addition to Passover they have Yom Kippur and Hanukkah... and yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!"

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said "Obviously your client is too confused to know about or for that matter even celebrate the atheists' holiday!"

The ACLU lawyer pompously said "We are aware of no such holiday for atheists, just when might that be, your honor?"

The judge said, "Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st!"

HOORAY FOR THAT JUDGE

So, just the month of April to navigate through until CFest now. That's a nice thought
That is a real nice thought.  Tickets should be arriving in the mail any day now.  Good morning, Scott.
Morning Tony, I may have to head-up there on Thursday to annoy LTG. Have to see what I can get away with
Sounds good, then you can pay more for the rental. Lol
You going to be ready to have fun that night or are you guys turning in early for your Friday tee time?  ;)
Maybe we'll cook some mushroom swiss burgers on the grill, have an EPC 2nd, in Dean's honor.
Don't forget to get your ass kicked by some ex's family.
But make sure to get some pussy before the ass-whoopin!
Man, this is gonna be some night!

And maybe you can join me on the course, since Nate isn't golfing this year. Says he wants to sleep in and relax. I say I'm on vacation, I want to do the things I can't normally do too, like get up early and go golfing. Haha.
We'll hit the links while Nate and Andy spoon each other. Is your other buddy golfing?
Not sure, I've never even met the guy, he's a friend of Nate's. Took him so long to pay me, I was starting to wonder if he was even real. I'll find out, but I'm guessing no.
Well I can't let you go out solo!

Happy April Fools gents!
Good morning, CG.
Good morning Tony and Mark.  Hope someone calls me and offers me a job today, do I have the right to ask if it's an April Fool's joke?
I wouldn't.  Although said in fun, It would make you sound desperate.
Depends on what sort of "job" is being offered to you, DeanShaun.
I suppose, depends if I really even want a job or to just keep kicking it un UnEmp...   ;)
Wow.  So lazy you can't even finish typing the word?

Wife is gone, no women around me that I know of - and Dean would already have 1 cigar down by now.
What's the burger situation?
Well while shopping for the Easter pies (wheat & pizza rustica),
I picked up a nice wedge of Danish blue cheese.  So when I stopped at
Bourbon BBQ on the way home, besides the smoked brisket, I got a 7oz.
sirloin & brisket hamburger.  When the nice lady behind the counter asked if
I wanted cheese on it, told her yes, but don't you guys put any on it, I got
some blue cheese in the car, waiting to meet this burger at home.
Had them make it medium well, almost a Black & Blue burger!
Good morning all.  8)

Morning CADave.  You and wacky enjoy your stroll on the beach last night?
Had hoped to make it a threesome, but Sauce blew us off.
Too bad but not a shocker
May have better luck next week.
He hinted that he might show up?
In San Diego.  I will be out again Monday -Wed.
Ahhh.  Thought you were saying that he was gonna show up on the 9th.  Should have known better.

Scott - much to my surprise, our 3rd wheel is down with the golfing. Does Andy golf as well?
That will give Nate plenty of time to make lunch and prepare for the party after sleeping in
Sounds like a plan to me!

Happy April Fools gents!
Good morning, CG.
Good morning Tony and Mark.  Hope someone calls me and offers me a job today, do I have the right to ask if it's an April Fool's joke?
only if they offer a salary in the low to mid six figures...
Hopefully that's just a weekly rate

Had an interesting combo of beers last night.  Started with the Victory at Sea, moved on to Green Flash Double Stout after being told they were out of SinTax, and couldn't help myself and finished with Alpine Nelson.

Smoked a 2015 EPC Short Run and a Pudgy Monsters Tiff.

It's OK.  Not as good as the '11/'12/'13 to me.  It started really cedary.  Maybe pepper.  It would get a little creamy, and at the halfway point I thought it was really going to take off, but instead it went flat.

It's better than the average cigar, for sure, but I'll smoke through the rest of my five pack before deciding on any further purchases.

I guess in a word, disappointed.  Started out with some hints of spice, decent cedar and an overall sweetness.  Throughout the first half, there continued to be suggestions of flavors and directions the stick might take, but it never did.  Last third was pretty flat.  Just my take of course.

Disappointed is a good word.  Not because it was bad but because it didn't live up to expectations, nothing about it really stood out.  Maybe some down time will change that.

I think you'd like it. Almost tastes chocolatey but I don't believe it's brewed with any, unless they just don't say it outright. Think it's somewhere between 8-9% ABV, too.

Morning, all.  Nice herf last night, even nicer for Sauce to blow us off.  Sheesh.
Too bad, at least he might show up at our NJ herf next week

Had an interesting combo of beers last night.  Started with the Victory at Sea, moved on to Green Flash Double Stout after being told they were out of SinTax, and couldn't help myself and finished with Alpine Nelson.

Smoked a 2015 EPC Short Run and a Pudgy Monsters Tiff.
Must have sucked to hear they were out of sintax, how was the green flash?

I enjoy the Green Flash Double Stout quite a bit, a nice go-to stout that is pretty widely available.
I've seen it out here and I really like their IPA

I think you'd like it. Almost tastes chocolatey but I don't believe it's brewed with any, unless they just don't say it outright. Think it's somewhere between 8-9% ABV, too.
Sounds pretty good, right in the old wheelhouse

Excluded from catsrule.  Is there another discount I missed?

Here's one for ya, Joe. +12%... You may have already tried it, but it's new out here.

Goes down a lot smoother than one would think at that ABV.

Hey, Scott. Gotta say, for as little importance as it is to the initial purchase, the actual box for the MCII PC's was pretty impressive. I was surprised by how heavy it was. Gonna give it 'til Friday to sample one.

Opinion on the 2015 EPC?

It appears we agree.  FYI, Joe had the robusto, I had the toro.

IT and Information Security have introduced new password guidelines. Effective tomorrow, your password must be 19-37 characters long, and include an ampersand, a prime number, and an animal noise. Also, all passwords must be palindromes. Good luck.

Smoked the PC and Roxxo in both. Actually, picked up more MCI PC 5ers on cbid last month. Inventories are scarce, but I still scrounge around. I'll probably just try the III as a single from the B&M like I did the others. I'm sure it will be good though. Ecuadorian Hababo wrapper this time.

Unless he's done some serious work on his short game, no way he makes it to the weekend. The greens there allow for very little error. IF he has short game problems like he did in Scottsdale, I'm thinking the injury bug will strike mid-round Friday.

Sorta like when Lebron came back. People were staking out his house, and when a bunch of moving trucks came for his cars, it was front-page news, or whatever the internet equivalent is.

Fowler is due in the majors, played them all well last year.
Yeah I always root for him, I like the young Americans they show promise for the Ryder Cup

If anyone frequents the 4 letter network website, they have their new "look" up today... same biased reporting.   ;D

Anyone think Tiger will make the weekend cut, or leave early with an injury?
I don't see how he can make that much progress in 2 months while having an injury

Agree'd. You have a favorite to win?
I'll cheer for Bubba (UGA boy) Certainly don't want any more euro-commies winning!

Mark Broadie had an interesting take a couple weeks back... Spieth was on his list.

CLE Cuarenta coronas mashing
Not a great price, but at least it comes with non-commie free shipping!
Not great but not bad @15/$50
Excluded from catsrule.  Is there another discount I missed?
There is a $10 off mash coupon but I can't find it...anyone?

MCPNSAV10... it will work for those.

Morning, All
Indeed it does, there you go Raz, thanks Steve and good morning

Hey, Scott. Gotta say, for as little importance as it is to the initial purchase, the actual box for the MCII PC's was pretty impressive. I was surprised by how heavy it was. Gonna give it 'til Friday to sample one.
Nice, one of the cigars I was most impressed with last year

It's taken me awhile to get to trying them, but finally had the MCI & II this winter.
II's are still fairly available, but I's are becoming pretty scarce, so you should stock up as you see them.

Good afternoon, Steve.

Hey, Tony. What's for lunch? Free range salad
Been eating like a rabid dog.  Haven't touched a salad in a long while.  Wound up going with a quesadilla and some corn chowder.  Gotta get back on the program.

No doubt, and we need all the help we can get. I like Reed's game, not sure if he has the poise to win the big one yet. Hopefully soon.

Unless he's done some serious work on his short game, no way he makes it to the weekend. The greens there allow for very little error. IF he has short game problems like he did in Scottsdale, I'm thinking the injury bug will strike mid-round Friday.

Yeah, he kinda snuck into town... which he denied. Guess he didn't think everyone knew his plane. Kinda sad, the fall from grace he's gone through. Not to say some wasn't deserved, but everyone who has ever hated him now won't STFU. Not a huge fan of his, but those folks are fvckin annoying.
I don't think "sad" enters the equation.  He didn't develop a major drug habit.  He didn't have a psychotic breakdown.  He didn't get himself shot by gangstas.

He had a meteoric rise, he made a gazillion dollars, he married a model, he cheated with a boatload of loose women, and then he got found out by the wife and an embarrassing drama followed.  Meanwhile, his golf game went down the tubes.

Was it the tomcatting that screwed up his golf game?  Maybe. But that would be highly speculative.  I think it's more likely he just never had 18 majors in him.  That's not sad.  That's just sports.

Payne Stewart's story is sad.  J Douglas Edgar.  Steve Ballesteros, maybe.  Even Ty Tryon.  Tiger?  He got the wins, he got the media, he got the money, he got the women...what's sad about that?

What's sad, imo, is how his body is deteriorating and rapidly changing his game. Everyone is sports has their 'window of opportunity' or 'prime' and his is passing him by. There have been great players like Nicklaus who could still win in their later years. I just don't know if Tiger will stick it out that long. Like you said, he's pretty much set for life.

I think it's all the weight he put on, in combination with that violent swing of his. I hope Rory doesn't go in the same direction, because he's started to bulk up a bit, too. Can't overdo stuff like that. Bulkiness does not lend itself to the golf swing.

Absolutely. When he began lifting and bulking up, that was pretty much the beginning of the end. Which is ironic, because he was always the smallish guy that could hit a ton. Don't know why he'd think adding muscle would improve his game. Musta been some vanity for himself and the ladies he was pulling.
