I even tried to nudge her in that direction, because she had a very good ACT score and would've probably qualified for scholarships or grants in a lot of places, but she was set on getting those first two years out of the way with no money owed. Once she makes up her mind about something, she sticks with it. Also, not a lot of places offer a degree in video game design, as you might imagine.

She would be about to go to community college for two years and then and state school of her choosing, for free. She hasn't decided yet but it's not looking like she's considering college costs in her factoring.
