Title: 3/20/2015
Post by: CigarBanter on March 20, 2015, 12:01:18 AM
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!  Hopefully you'll get to start the weekend early.  Otherwise, perhaps some cigar deals will help ya get through to tomorrow.  Share what you know in this forum and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour your favorite beverage and welcome aboard!

Our herf has ended. RP Cuban blend torp maduro (red band)was good, prefer the natural though. HdT toro grande first half was good, then it went meh.  Some good b-ball.  Close games were good to watch, when Harvard was ahead of UNC, there was a guy standing looking up at the TV in disbelief, he looked so ill, I thought he was going to pass out ... but was greatly relieved when UNC pulled it out.  I suppose that would have ruined a lot of brackets except in a small area of Mass.

Nice, Tony.  It wasn't often mine came to visit, but she made Polish donuts ... basically fried dough rolled in sugar, but they were special, because Grandma made them.
Heading home, want to beat the precip creeping into the area which is supposed to turn to heavy wet Snow between 4-10am.  See youse!

Happy Friday, men.  Could go for some of those zepo things you guy were talking about earlier in the week.
Should have been out here this week, could have hit St. Patricks festivities and St. Joseph!  Zeppoli's are available year round, I'm sure Uncle Tony can hook you up when you're out.
When are you/is he out here next?
Not scheduled yet.  Could be in 2 - 3 weeks, though.  Waiting for it to warm up out there  ;)
If you could plan for the week after Easter, we have a herf shaping up for Thursday.
Might be a possibility.  Just make sure the white whale stays in your pants.
That's up to Tony, he has needs too.

Went to a Polish store/meat market yesterday and bought some cold cuts.
first three, not a problem some triple smoked Canadian bacon,
some Cottage ham and some Edam cheese.  my next choices, I must have
channeled  Andrew Zimmerman cause one was a cross between blood sausage
and head cheese called black head cheese, and the next was a heavily garlic'ed spiced
ham sort of loaf covered in pepper.  Made a couple of sandwiches last night for dinner.
Reporting that i am still alive today.  why didn't I just get the house Keilbasy, was the
question the wife asked when she got home.

Oh, Flip, I did smoke a slightly smaller vitola of the Warlord.  they have it in a sampler with Beauty, Beast and a couple of other lines in a 7 x 56 I think (may be 57rg, can't remember) and that's what I had.  it was big enough so that the 60rg just seemed too large.  i did enjoy the cigar though.  i'd buy if they released it that way in bulk.
"pieces of cooked pork"?  Yikes!  You are a brave soul.  I mean, that's a loose description of scrapple.  and there are some interesting "pieces of cooked pork" in that too.
basically it  is what falls of of the pig's head, so it has tongue, cheek, and other "choice" parts...
Well, you're right, if you listen to Zimmern, that's the best part of the pig.  i tend to disagree, but what do I know, I sell doors, not meat.
yeah, he eat's a lot of stuff I probably will never try.
never was one to go for the Eyeballs of fish or other animals.
yet I have enjoyed roasted lambs head "Capozell"
once, in my formulative years, A group of us threw a large outdoor summer party and we roasted a pig on a spit for about 24hrs.  we decided we weren't men until we ate all of the head parts.  we ate pretty much everything except the bones.  I remember eating some brain and snout....

I have a nephew who ate the eyeball, but he lives in Montana at the time
One of these pictures is the pig still on the spit, in another, an uncle of mine who has since passed is holding the head.

Living Dangerously eh?

Not much of a cold cut person, more "creative" cold cuts less so...been known to have some black pudding when in Ireland, but that' about the extent of it.

UGA had a lot of posessions, must have blown 10 shots in the paint and about as many turnovers.  Let MSU get their rhythm, and it will be over soon.

Ya, that stuff stinks up the place. I've heard the secret to that is the cleaning... which a lot of folks seem to half-ass. And that affects the taste a great deal... Giving folks a bad, first impression if not done right.

Good news: Management bought the entire IT staff pizza for lunch.
Bad news: It was from Costco.  Edible, but not terribly enjoyable.

Where's Shaun? He go back to bed after lunch?
simple lunch today, sesame Bagel with cream cheese.
bought from a cart outside Penn Station this morning.
What?  all those fancy cold cuts and you had a Bagle w/ cc?
After I ate them last night, and passed wind, I almost wanted to move.
no way I am sitting in a cube at work.  I was going for something bland and
binding...
Actually when the wife goes to work in the hair salon, I am feeding them to the feral
cats, that like to live under my deck.   I am thinking they will either leave or die.
LOL, nice, but then who will be eating the mice?
Mice, I have groundhog problems.....

Any symptoms of scrapie or BSE?
Alright, I'll "bite"  wtf is that?
BSE is "Mad Cow" and scrapie is a similar disease, both spread by eating raw meat, especially brain.

Just leave it to melt. Should warm up quickly. No point in messing with 5 inches at this point (TWSS).

I'm watching tomorrow afternoon/evening.  Supposed to be rainy here, and some good games coming up.

Evening, Senor Tres Frijoles.  Been watching basketball, then I guess it ended because Conan O'Brien came on ... I haven't seen him in years, but tonight it's interesting as he's visiting Cuba and taping his show out and about, rather than in a studio.
