Any cigar deals on the various internet sites that are worth talking about? Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a drink and welcome aboard!

Singles Club Meeting
-------------------------

They met at the singles club meeting and discovered over time
that they enjoyed each other's company.

After several weeks of meeting for coffee, Claude asked Maude out for
dinner and, much to his delight, she accepted. They
had a lovely evening. They dined at the most romantic restaurant
in town.

Despite his age, they ended at his place for an after-dinner drink.
Things continued along a natural course and age being no inhibitor,
Maude soon joined Claude for a most enjoyable roll in the hay.
As they were basking in the glow of the magic moments they'd shared,
each was lost for a time in their own thoughts.....

Claude was thinking: "If I'd known she was a virgin, I'd have been
gentler."

Maude was thinking: "If I'd known he could still do it, I'd have taken
off my pantyhose.

That's a good question.  I don't think the software they're using is custom/proprietary.  I believe it's off the shelf and not suitable for high volume.  I'm sure CI pays a third party company to host and maintain their websites.  I'm not saying they should get into the IT game and hire their own staff but they should absolutely look into an alternate platform.  IMHO, this kind of site with the volume they do, needs to sit on a Linux/UNIX system and not on Windows.

And a Great Big Brrrrrrrrrr to everyone this morning from St. Louis at 2 degrees which feels like -10...
Mornin Dad!  So damn cold out!  -20 on my drive in, pre-wind chill!
Can you imagine what life was like in the late 1800's up there when most lived in trapper shacks with just a little fire going and having to use a outhouse.
Unbelievable - "only the strong survive" sounds like it would apply to that scenario quite well, haha.
I had two different Aunt's and Uncles that used outhouses until right at 1990.  We loved to visit them, but sure hated those outhouses.

I wonder if they really used the outhouse when it was this cold.  Morning Scott, BD, DaveFan and all.  Thanks for stopping by next door eveyday to say hello, DaveFan.  Very gentlemanly of you.
It was home for many years and helped pass the time at work for so many days.

I hope my truck starts this morning.  I wish I had one of those plug in engine heaters like I had in Alaska...!
Those are nice - granted I don't see the block heaters in cars too often now, but back when they came standard in vehicles up here people loved em.

My grandfather had one that he used until 1973 when he passed, it was halfway between his house and milking barn so that it would be equally useful when he was out working.

Years ago I bought a gas weedwacker.  She thought it looked fun, and wanted to try it.  She enjoyed using it so much, that I'd always find her working her little heart out wacking those pesky weeks.  Then all of a sudden I realized how much my sex life had dropped off... errrrrr....!!!

Had a bit of a conundrum last evening, parked next to the new Bourbon BBQ here in Garfield, was going to go in for a nice brisket sandwich.  Then I remembered it was Ash Wednesday, and the no meat restriction.  Was right in front of Sushi Boy, so went in and had two giant red clam sushi, an eel roll, and a "gimme five roll" spicy scallop roll, topped with White tuna and tobiko(little red caviar). Only one in the restaurant, guy gave me free miso soup, salmon sushi and a red snapper sushi.  drank a diet Dr. Pepper.  then I pick up the daughter from dance class, and find the wife had defrosted a tray of Eggplant parmigiana that she had made, when I got home - Oops I like me some EP, but was too stuffed to take any.  Almost got up early to have some this morning for breakfast, Cold Eggplant is good too!.

Truthfulness is a discrete binary variable.  either yes or no.  sorta like "Are you pregnant?"
it is not a continuous variable, which can have many answers.

Hi, Flip. I actually picked up a 5pack of Ghosts at the .biz not too long ago. Don't tell anyone though.
what did they run you a cigar, I try not to pay more than $2 to $3 a stick for mine at cigarbid, but you have to add in the shipping.

Quick way to view avis without changing settings is to just click the username to the left.

As for the porn bombing CG does... you just gotta keep scrolling or shut it down. Haha

Yeah, I usually go overboard once I win trying to combine multiple shipping costs...

If anyone does like the New Worlds, a 21ct box at the .biz would be $84.55 + shipping with the reddit10 code... w/Free shipping on the 1st of the month.  ;)

Gonna be a depressing day around the office. Nine people will get layoff notices today.

I expect I'm okay.  I'm way up the seniority list and my position is financed by licensing fees rather than budget indirects.  But this can morph all kinds of ways, so who knows?

Regardless, still gonna be a depressing day here.

Never a good time Raz, like you said, I hope you are all good.
We are going through a re-org right now as well, a 10-20% reduction in force is anticipated...very quiet around the office the past few weeks since the announcement.

Like I said, it shouldn't touch me.  It'll be five people from the IT division, all of whom are funded by indirects.  My position is directly funded, and I'm too senior to get bumped by anyone who'll be caught in this.  But that's applying logic to the situation.  I work for state government, and logic doesn't mean shit.

So, we'll see.  I'm not stressing about it, other than it might impact friends.  I've got a few options if by some crazy cosmic twist it touched me.

Lunch Update: Got the New Mexico Smoked turkey on Ciabatta. gaucamole, mozerralla, smoked jalepenos, & spinach.  did not have them press it in the panini machine.  Warm gauc is not appetizing. Got a cup of chicken with wild rice soup too.  The sandwich is so much better with the peppers in it(last week they were out!).

Haha. You should still have FREE Tat Blacks on your mind!  FREEEEEEEE Tat Blacks!
Got em with my last order of CGs   ;D

You said "No more Jars!"  ;)
I figured 5 was enough  ;)
Well get smoking, heard they don't age well
On a semi serious note, when I was talking with Pete's brother KC, he said they aren't meant to age.  Pete blends the Black to be smoked immediately, or at least the flavors you get with a fresh jar/box are what he wants it to represent.

I was serious about the aging comment but it turns a 92 cigar into a 90 cigar so no complaints

Yeah HW didn't seem to like it aged, but they can GFTs - ain't gonna change my opinion on the matter!  I like em fresh when they are nice and spicy/smooth and when they rest and get that smooth/sweetness

Agreed, Tom.  CI site has been in and out all day.  Either I'll chosen maintenance or hackers trying to get in.
Ah, so you guys are back over here.  As for source of CI's troubles, I'm going with hackers.  I'm no IT guy, but well established websites just don't start acting up unless stressed by outside sources.  I think...
Someone is messing with it.  Can't get to the banter at all.

That part I just don't understand.  An internet retailer with a problem prone website.  If it's hackers, buy some robust protection and get on with it. Granted, the tempting deals are very infrequent, but still, one wants things to work properly.

Indeed.  More pathetic than annoying, actually.  Marginally entertaining, like four cars arriving at a four-way stop at the same time.

Yup.  I did the same thing there and here.  Bunch of great guys at both places, but trouble finds a home in the even the most serene of places.

You should see a 4 way stop in S FL, when 2 of the cars are French-Canadian snow-birds from Quebec. But back to the issue, we should all e-mail CI about the problem.  It is costing them sales, and the almighty dollar is all they care about.  So if the F/U website costs them $, maybe they will fix it.

CB was too busy holding the purse to break the fence.  But I too, am very happy that the fence is fixed, and we're all back to abnormal.
