Post by: CigarBanter on December 30, 2014, 12:00:19 AM
Brrrrr!  It's getting cold out there again. It appears we'll be hard pressed to find any warm cigar deals on the various internet sites to help us get through it.  Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a hot toddy and welcome aboard

Change of Mind
-------------------------

A man once spent days looking for his new hat. Finally, he decided that he'd go to church on Sunday and sit at the back. During the service he would sneak out and grab a hat from the rack at the front door.

On Sunday, he went to church and sat at the back. The sermon was about the 10 commandments. He sat through the whole sermon and instead of sneaking out he waited until the sermon was over and went to talk to the minister.

"Father, I came here today to steal a hat to replace the one I lost. But after hearing your sermon on the 10 Commandments, I changed my mind."

The minister said, "Bless you my son. Was it when I started to preach 'Thou shall not steal,' that changed your heart?"

The man responded, "No, it was the one on adultery. When you started to preach on that, I remembered where I left my hat."

Morning boys, it's Tuesday so I had to stop in and admit some stupidity. I was bidding on CBid over the holiday and won something I didn't even realize I won. I bid on the 3 Reynas box after I thought I lost a box of CLE Cuarenta 11/18s but I actually won those for $73. Confirmation emails to to my work so I must have misread or misunderstood because the current closing bid was $3 higher on the display. Not the easiest thing to watch on the phone so I have a few cigars shipping today

Perhaps your Warden will believe that B.S. story but as for us, not so much, but it is at least bold of you to admit you are stupid right here in public on Tuesday.
Besides, it's nothing we don't already know.

I don't think that's it.  I think he just chose the third road (Facebook site).
I'm gonna tell the wife I'm choosing the third road when I get home, see what happens. ;)
Good luck with that.  I have a spare bedroom you can use.

So someone stole a truck filled with 44,000 pounds of Miller High Life in Orlando, Fla., this week? Don’t get too excited about it, MillerCoors: That’s likely the most demand anyone’s had for High Life in a while. The brand has seen its shipments fall steadily from 4.7 million barrels in 2011 to 4 million last year, with Beer Marketer’s Insights noting that overall shipments have dropped 10% in 2013 alone.

Perhaps your Warden will believe that B.S. story but as for us, not so much, but it is at least bold of you to admit you are stupid right here in public on Tuesday.
He didn't have to admit that, we all knew it already....  8)  Hello guys, be with you in a few pages...

The way you put it is crystal clear to me, Shaun.  My question is (for all): Would you rather have one order of the Tat Blacks or two of the CyB corona reals?  I have plenty of decent but relatively bland small smokes (as well as strong ones), but would like something tasty.

Thanks, N8ive, I thought that might be the case.  I have had the larger CyB's and enjoyed them, but didn't knock my socks off, but know that sometimes corona versions of blends can be more concentrated in flavor.
I have my first Diesel Hair of the Dog (HotDog) corona last night, and it was surprisingly strong.  Followed with a Quesada Tributo (torpedo) which was interesting and enjoyable.

Tat Black is my favorite cigar for the money.  For $6, it's really hard to beat, IMO, GFY, etc.  There are other good options too...MFs, MF Connies, Tatuaje Noella Reserva...but I like the Black CG, personally.

I just commented yesterday that I think the Hair of the Dog might be the best of the Diesel's.   RyB corona is better than the other sizes IMHO and many others seem to think that also.  I am not an "I luv everything Tat" guy at all but Black Corona is a nice cigar based on the 2 I have smoked out of my cookie jar.  Jar is a piece of crap.

Tat Black is my favorite cigar for the money.  For $6, it's really hard to beat, IMO, GFY, etc.  There are other good options too...MFs, MF Connies, Tatuaje Noella Reserva...but I like the Black CG, personally.
Told ya so!

Famous has $40 off $150 and Free Ship - Tat Black CG Jar is $131 with 3 Tat Black Robustos thrown in, and free ship.  Noella Reservas are $140, etc - lots of good deals out there.  FS2SAV40
http://www.famous-smoke.com/cyb+corona+real+cigars/item+38958 (http://www.famous-smoke.com/cyb+corona+real+cigars/item+38958)
CyB Corona Reals - 21/$79.95 x2 = 42/$159.90 + FS2SAV40 = 42/$119.9 or $2.85/ea

I dislike more Tats than I like for sure, but he makes so fricken many cigars you are bound to love a handful of them.

Late Merry Christmas and an early Happy New Year to you as well, SLY.
Thanks, Tony.  I'm going to try to celebrate every one of the days of the Christmas season up through the Baptism of the Lord.  At least through Epiphany.  What's a typical Italian New Year's Eve/Day celebration like? (food/drink).  I was actually in Italy over New Year's in Italy in 1973.  Spent New Year's Eve/my birthday in Florence ... I remember it was cold, windy, maybe even some snow, but the city was beautifully decorated.  My buddy and I were backpacking across Italy and Greece (rode that ferry that is on fire in the Adriatic right now), and kept running into two American sisters (cute) along the way who were doing something similar over semester break.  We bumped into each other again in Florence and asked them to join us for dinner in a cozy Florentine ristorante.  That's about all I remember of that night.

Good to hear it ... keep the home fires burning (besides the tobacco) ... I'm hanging in there.  A lot of deaths around though lately.  By the end of this week, I will have been to 6 events related to the deaths of 4 people in the last two weeks. 3 Elderly, but one guy was my age and went to 4-8th grade and then a year of HS together ... not my best buddy, but nevertheless a significant person in my life along with his family.  It certainly is tempering my celebrating with a certain amount of sobriety ... No one knows the day or the hour, but you can prepare for it.  Need to prepare for it.

Unbelievable how that stuff seems to happen with a degree of volume.  We lost my Aunt to a car accident this summer - big eye opener for the family to bond, shame it always takes something as horrific as that to restore and build relationships.  Even worse around the holidays, my condolences.

Hey Chip, how 'bout them Tigers?  How 'bout that wacky Les Miles!
Howdy Mike, for a changeour offense is actually moving the ball but damn when will the defense decide to start playing.
Hi Chip.  Nice to see you.
Good afternoon Tony.
Are you still working or are getting to "enjoy" the game at home?
Quitting time is 2pm for me everyday so I only missed the very beginning of the game.
Tied up.

Home from the hospital. All went well and the doctor says I should be clear for full weight on the leg in 48 hours. Can't smoke for 24 hours while the last vestiges of general anesthesia wear off. Back on Oxy, but doctor says it should only be for a few days. There is light at the end of this tunnel.

Not sure you'll be able to appreciate this from the photos but saw this on the way home this evening.  There are about 3000 cans connected by strings.  I realize they're not the kind of cans you're used to seeing on here.

I wasn't impressed with the Monte White but the draw wasn't great either.  I'll smoke another before I pass final judgement.  But as far as flavor profile I still like the V better.  You're allowed to disagree.

It's still Tuesday so we are required to disagree so the Monte is fabuloso and the V is over the hill.   :)Actually as I said last night I never tried a White but V's used to be a top 5 for me but they have changed and not what they use to be.
