Happy Friday!  Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour some eggnog and welcome aboard!

Beer
-------------------------

After the North American Beer Festival, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.

The guy from Corona sits down and says, "Hey Señor, I would like the world’s best beer, a Corona."

The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him.

The guy from Budweiser says, "I’d like the best beer in the world, give me ‘The King of Beers,’ a Budweiser."

The bartender gives him one.

The guy from Coors says, "I’d like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, give me a Coors."  He gets it.

The guy from Molson sits down and says, "Give me a Coke."

The bartender is a little taken aback, but gives him what he ordered.

The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask, "Why aren’t you drinking a Molson’s?"

The Molson president replies, "Well, I figured if you guys aren’t drinking beer, neither would I."

That's jam price on those, before you pay them for shipping. Just devil's advocating.
Good catch but who knows when they might Jam.
If they're a decent stick, chances aren't good of them ever showing up again. Haha.

Everyone should call their Congressman/woman and thank them for Fuking you last night.
That's for sure.  Only the start, just wait until the new congress is seated.
This one fuct both sides, wait till people start seeing the now legal pension payment cuts that have been illegal for over 40 years.
Not to mention giving the banks more latitude in gambling with our money.

Outside of the Thanksgiving games, I wish they'd do away with all the other Thursday games. But they are making a money grab at this point, so what's to stop them now. They'll be adding 2 more games soon enough. Making it an even more diluted product, imo, fwiw, etc.etc.

And all this while pretending they care about player safety. Please. If they really did, they wouldn't make everyone play these games 4 days after they just played. It's no wonder these games always suck.

The fact that they counter it with increasing the team rosters pretty much tells you they already know more players won't make it through a season. It's all about the benjamins... and the image of the "shield".

It's all about the benjamins... and the image of the "shield".

btw, thought it strange to get this in my work email box the other day.

Quote from: From NFL Commissioner: Thank You

Dear Fans,

You give so much to our game and its success. In return, as you should, you hold us to high standards, both on and off the field. We have listened and we have heard you. We hold ourselves to these high standards as well.

The majority of people in the NFL are individuals of high character who make incredible contributions to the game and their communities. However, a small percentage conduct themselves improperly at times. We recognize these actions damage the entire league. We now are taking significant steps to strengthen our programs to prevent and address incidents of misconduct.

Today at a league meeting in Dallas, our teams unanimously endorsed a revised and strengthened Personal Conduct Policy for all NFL employees. The policy was developed after an extensive series of meetings and discussions over the past four months with a wide range of experts and others inside and outside of the NFL, including current and former players, the NFL Players Association, domestic violence/sexual assault experts and advocates, law enforcement officials, academic experts, and business leaders. The revised policy is clear, consistent, accountable and transparent and applies to everyone including owners, general managers, coaches, players, other team employees, game officials, and all league employees.

Went to grab a FdlA Gran Toro last night but an OOO jumped into my hand first.  Was nice with a little 12-year-old Glenlivet.

Absolutely. I've had the regular robusto's as well. Like these considerably more. Smoke was med/full bodied, full flavors, but smooth as silk. Not harsh at all.

You're forgiven, then.  Happy payday.  Mine's spent, so I'm not so excited.

Being laid up means I haven't been able to do any gigs.  So I'm short on cigar money.  Dammit.

But I've got Vicodin and on an empty stomach it's a pleasant little high, especially because the pain stops.  So...whatever.

I've only had the robusto, and have to say I was a little underwhelmed.  Solid smoke with a uniform woody profile.  Didn't stand out for me and thought it was a bit overpriced, so had no real interest in revisiting.  One of those cigars that got a lot of good reviews from people I generally agree with, but it didn't ring the same for me.

Loved it!  I made sure I had something in my belly and it still made me a little woozy.  I think I've had it before but I know for sure I'll have it again.  Definitely on my buy list.  Pretty complex for a little cigar.  The retrohale completely changes the experience too.

They didn't go for 57.  I paid 73.  My Cuban order got confiscated at customs, so these are to replace them to hand out at Christmas.  Not a bad replacement, tho.

I'm heading out with a recently gifted Tatuaje Havana VI Angeles (Corona) (4.6"x42).  Take care, gentlemen.
Curious your thoughts
Loved it!  I made sure I had something in my belly and it still made me a little woozy.  I think I've had it before but I know for sure I'll have it again.  Definitely on my buy list.  Pretty complex for a little cigar.  The retrohale completely changes the experience too.
Nice, best price I've found is Famous bid, $80/box or less cant beat it
Thanks for the message and the tip, sfish!  I will be checking it out.  They are a complex cigar for the size.  CK had a fiver of the Tat La Riqueza, free ship and a 10% off code for awhile which made their price decent.  No more TLR's tho.
There's a box closing in 1 hour there, current bid to win is $57
Wish I could, but with Christmas coming and all, gonna have to pass for now.  Besides, I've got enough other smokes to keep me busy for a while.
They didn't go for 57.  I paid 73.  My Cuban order got confiscated at customs, so these are to replace them to hand out at Christmas.  Not a bad replacement, tho.
Thats a great price

PuroExpress, so I'm good.  The brothers just don't get Cubans this year.  I split an order with Oy.  His got here fine, so I'm really glad about that.

@NJDave, what's your favorite HE vitola? I've only had the Lonsdale and loved it
HE?  Herrera Estelí?
Yes Herrea Esteli
I've only had the robusto, and have to say I was a little underwhelmed.  Solid smoke with a uniform woody profile.  Didn't stand out for me and thought it was a bit overpriced, so had no real interest in revisiting.  One of those cigars that got a lot of good reviews from people I generally agree with, but it didn't ring the same for me.
Wait, I thought when I asked you about the Norteno you told me you liked the regular one a lot and couldn't imagine the San Andres doing it any good?
Close.  As I wasn't crazy about the regular, I had no interest in the Norteno for being much better and at a higher price.

Ahh, gotcha. This was the first cigar I bought and smoked at our first herf in Princeton, maybe it's more sentimental than anything 😉

Okay. In fairness to customs, I can't swear on the bible that they have the sticks.  I suppose the post office could have them.  I am certain they are not coming, tho.  More than 21 business days now, and the other half got here in less than 10 days. Happened to Will recently too.

Evening Sir Antnee, Prince of Pasta Fagioli!  I was in Belleville, NJ, 2 weeks ago, at my BIL Rigo's, and was going to call and invite you to come over.  But there wound up being 50+ Hondurans in a little 2 BR apt, so I decided against it.
