Post by: CigarBanter on January 05, 2015, 12:00:13 AM
We're getting some pretty crazy weather out there, huh?  Hopefully we can find some crazy cigar deals on the various internet sites that will help us get through it.  Join in this discussion and perhaps learn something about cigars along the way.  Be warned, post on this site and you will catch hell from members and trolls alike.  Therefore, don't proceed if you have thin skin.  If you can accept all that, light a cigar, pour a Hot Toddy and welcome aboard!

Blind Man
-------------------------

Husband and wife are waiting at the bus stop with their nine children. A blind man joins them after a few minutes. When the bus arrives, they find it overloaded and only the wife and the nine kids are able to fit onto the bus.

So the husband and the blind man decide to walk. After a while, the husband gets irritated by the ticking of the stick of the blind man as he taps it on the sidewalk, and says to him, "Why don't you put a piece of rubber at the end of your stick? That ticking sound is driving me crazy."

The blind man replies, "If you would've put a rubber at the end of YOUR stick, we'd be riding the bus ... so shut up."

Only thing that sucks about golf this year is they made it pre-paid. No thanks. If the weather shits out, it's a bit too far of a drive for a rain check. Might have to check out another course in the area. I know there's one across the road from the resort, not sure if it's public or not.

Think Mark was considering coming in as well. Pretty sure he said he was gonna try for Friday, but he may change his mind and try to avoid me, as well.
Yeah I need to coordiante with him, problem with Friday is you got Tony and Golf :)

It'd be nice to get in a round of golf this year
Only thing that sucks about golf this year is they made it pre-paid. No thanks. If the weather shits out, it's a bit too far of a drive for a rain check. Might have to check out another course in the area. I know there's one across the road from the resort, not sure if it's public or not.
Just found it online, they're private. Bastards.

So I'll have to catch up on the potential CF15 schedule, I only saw LTG commit to a date but I haven't been on much so may have missed some things
Yes you have, so again we'll have to repeat everything for you to catch up.  I said I was leaning to Saturday (avoiding Dave is an added incentive)

Good Monday Morning (not really it sux) Golf, Fish, CG, Travellin Dave & Dean.  Hope I got everyone if I missed you cuss me out on Tuesday.
We will probably do that anyways ;)  Mornin Tex!
Missed you over the weekend, one of your fishing buddies sent us a picture of you when we were questioning your whereaouts.
Ohh great, haha.  Was a good time, the definition of fishing - drinking beers at 9am and attempting to catch fish.
For those not here Saturday here is the picture Shaun's fishing buddies shared of him "fishing"

Looks like Pete Johnson will be back at CF this year, committed to an event at the Hamburg store on Friday, 1st.
Must've heard that Dean moved to FL.
Right? An added bonus if nothing more. "Good news Pete, the "fragile wrapper" guy who told you your 10th Anniversary cigar you gifted to him tasted like tar won't be at CF this year"
so it's my fault I got the ONLY bad cigar out of that whole box? the Order of Protection I don't even understand, he's 6" taller and 75# heavier, and could break me in half!

And I was here and don't kow anymore than Fish other than Tony said he was in for Friday.
Thanks Dave, that's more info than Dave offered
Think Mark was considering coming in as well. Pretty sure he said he was gonna try for Friday, but he may change his mind and try to avoid me, as well.
Yeah I need to coordiante with him, problem with Friday is you got Tony and Golf :)
I didn't think the golfing was mandatory, now herfing, that's another story.
good morning boys  ;D

Looks like a lot of work to drink Bud
Drove out on the ice, car was 5' away from the shelter - setup in about 20min and break down in about 10.  All to get away from the wives :)
Well in that case I fully support it! I would just bring different beer  :D
I thought about bringing some better stuff, but cans are easier than bottles out there and I didn't wanna run to the liquor store...just drank up the odds and ends I had in my fridge.  At least you didn't see us with Hamms or Mil Best out there!  ;)
used up six cans of Coors light, made a 8 quarts of Texas style chili yesterday, with a 3.5lb chuck roast and about the same of southern style pork ribs (no bones).  My 16 year old insists that I add black beans, told her she may add a can of them when she is reheating a smaller portion.  besides all I had was chick peas, they make an interesting chili. prefer them to the red kidney beans.

It's not Cigar Aficionado, but Stogie guys top cigars for 2014 are:

Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Bon Chasseur: This fat robusto was called a “remarkable smoke” and “simply one of the best new releases in recent memory,” by Patrick A.

Tatuaje Black Corona Gorda: Joey J found the flavors in this 2013 re-release “intense and varied… full-flavored all the way down to the nub.”

RoMa Craft Intemperance BA XXI A.W.S. IV: Patrick A’s other five-stogie cigar. He wrote of its “tremendous” balance, noting that the Lonsdale was “a joy to smoke.”

La Palina Collection Mr. Sam Robusto: After starting as a limited edition, Mr. Sam was added to the regular line and Patrick S called it “an impressive cigar full of flavor… that will be enjoyed by all types of cigar smokers.

Paul Garmirian Reserva Exclusiva Churchill: This quickly became my “newest favorite cigar,” an incredibly pleasing stick that displayed “subtlety and complexity.”

RoMa Craft Aquitaine Mode 5: “At $7, the Aquitaine Mode 5 is an incredible buy.”

Drew Estate Nirvana Toro: “There is something to love here for everyone.”

E.P. Carrillo 5th Year Anniversary Limitada: “It characterizes the best of E.P. Carrillo: flavorful, complex, and affordable.”

God of Fire Don Carlos 2009 Robusto: “I may only light up a God of Fire by Don Carlos cigar a few times a year, but when I do it’s always special and worth the high price.”

Illusione *R* Rothchildes: “This small, value-priced Illusione is outstanding.”

Illusione Epernay L’Excellence: “Illusione makes some very fine cigars, but the Epernay line is the pinnacle—Giolito’s highest achievement.”

Joya Red Robusto: “The Robusto is classic with traditional tastes and plenty of balance and complexity.”

L’Atelier Imports LAT46 Selection Spéciale: “At the midway point it becomes clear this is a complex, balanced cigar with lots to offer (especially to attentive smokers).”

My Father No. 1: The second time this cigar scored a four-and-a-half-stogie rating. “No simple sledgehammer. It has the subtlety and nuance that seasoned cigar smokers look for in cigars in this price range.”

Partagas Benji Homage Toro: “If you’re a fan of bold boutique smokes, check out the Homage.”

Reinado Grand Empire Reserve Ecuador Edition Petit Lancero: “One of the best Ecuadorian Connecticut-wrapped smokes I’ve had in a long time.”

Tatuaje Pudgy Monster Tiff: “It’s dominated by sweet creaminess, along with roasted nut and woodiness, and hints of paper, graham, and spice.”

Viaje Oro Reserva VOR Aficionado: “A special spice-forward, interesting cigar worth finding.”

Drew Estate Herrera Estelí Piramide Fino: “This is an outstanding belicoso… a truly wonderful value at $10.”

Interesting, RoMa Craft cigars is fairly small batch, actually HQ in Austin!  I particularly like their Intemperance and Aquitaine lines.  Available at Atlantic, but you have to be able to jaunt over to their place and try them out.

Paul Garmirian has been around quite a while and has a lot of nice offerings.  Many are on the pricy side unfortunately.  La Paulina fairly new but most of their releases have received high praise.  Available in many places if you look for them.

I figure I'll be in the area that week for work already so signed up for the Friday ticket.  May also stay for Saturday.  Wouldn't want any BOTL's to miss out on meeting me.   ;)
I will probably do the same I guess we would not want TX to be under represented!  I would probably travel up on Thursday and return home late Saturday or maybe early Sunday.
Hey, I've been helping to under represent New jersey for years! ::)
It's your loss.  I would say Gurkha is probably the most represented cigar company at CF and you're missing out!
like winning a jeep surrounded by beautiful scantily clad women, is going to improve my life in any way, shape or form!  wait, was was I thinking?  :o
I also understand there's a fun knife tossing event.
Indeed.  Pick one up for free with a $125 purchase this week just to make sure you have one of your own.

I have bought 4 of the large tactical gurkha knives already, from the devil.  Don't need a free one.  Well if I stop giving them away to friends and family I won't!

I can still get a direct flight to Newark  I think.

Heard that Dave likes them so jacked up the price.

Sounds like a song
Work some commie Budweiser in there and you've got a hit.
A hit in France, Belgium or some other euro-commie country maybe, but not in 'murica.
well over there, it is an exotic imported beer!  sorta like Grolsch here.
I just shake my head when I see the amount of Bud and  Coors lite sold in Europe....not much Miller however.
Well they at least have some sense of taste!

Cool, I'll watch for them on today's jam   :D
I am on top of this list - smoked both  #1 & #2 (personaly I think 2 is better than 1 but both outstanding) but can't say i have ever even heard of 3-5, news travels slow down here I guess.

RoMa Craft cigars was formed in 2012 and combines the efforts and assets of two companies into one. These companies, Galveston Bay Tobacco, LLC, and Costa Rican Imports, LLC, are owned by Michael Rosales and Skip Martin. Rosales and Martin are familiar names in the industry and collaborated on several projects before cementing their business relationship. In 2011, the two tobacco mavens set up a manufacturing facility in Esteli, Nicaragua, named Fabrica de Tobacco Nica Sueńo. The first blend to come out of the facility, the CroMagnon, was a boutique blend that made multiple top lists the year of its release. Since CroMagnon, the company has put together two more blends, the Intemperance and the Aquitanie.

The company sells direct-to-consumer through its online shop, Hava Cigar, which was initially a brick and mortar lounge located in Galveston, Texas.

Maybe it is their cigar business that is HQ in Austin.  I thought the Galveston store was wiped out by one of the recent hurricanes and it was about that time that they started in the manufacturing business.

Dang, these hotdogs were $30 last jam.  Sheesh.
Heard that Dave likes them so jacked up the price.
Story of my life.
Says you?
Hey Tony, you have one of these: RoMa Craft Intemperance BA XXI - The Envy
Randomly add quote to any thread, why be specific... let's not make it easy to follow along!  damn little fish.
Hey, he only has 3900 posts, go easy on him, he's still trying to figure this thing out.

I normally don't really laugh out loud, but I did on that one...  It's nice to get a laugh and a smile every once in awhile.  Actually, I was trying to talk my wife into wearing her Santa outfit up to the (old style) barber shop that I go to.  But she said she couldn't because Christmas is already over. She tried to explain about, "you can't wear white shoes after labor day..?" Go figure...?

Agree with you about the crappy website.  But according to that, the cigars are available at Pipe World in Round Rock and Austin, Wiggys in Austin and Habana House in Austin.
Easier having them available at Atlantic!  (Also the Paul Garmirian) unlike most web distributors.

Paul Garmirian has been around quite a while and has a lot of nice offerings.  Many are on the pricy side unfortunately.  La Paulina fairly new but most of their releases have received high praise.  Available in many places if you look for them.

I thought the Galveston store was wiped out by one of the recent hurricanes and it was about that time that they started in the manufacturing business.
http://www.romacrafttobac.com/
I can't figure out what their game is and they have a crappy website.   That shop was torn up in the hurricane and also Galveston outlawed smoking in public places including cigar shops (that was the only one in town) and it was destined to death anyway. I think they must just use that name and ship out of a warehouse somewhere (perhaps Austin) or something.   I can't find any presence for them in Austin other than they have Austin as one of three locations on their website.  Next time I am in Galveston I will see if there is such a place.
This shows up on their retail locations page as their HQ:
RoMa Craft Tobac World Headquarters

Agree with you about the crappy website.  But according to that, the cigars are available at Pipe World in Round Rock and Austin, Wiggys in Austin and Habana House in Austin.
Easier having them available at Atlantic!  (Also the Paul Garmirian) unlike most web distributors.
...and what the hell is Wiggy's?  Sounds like a head shop.

I would suggest buying a big bottle of aspirins, along with a few grains of salt....

Cool, I'll watch for them on today's jam   :D
I am on top of this list - smoked both  #1 & #2 (personaly I think 2 is better than 1 but both outstanding) but can't say i have ever even heard of 3-5, news travels slow down here I guess.

Pipe world is up Bean's way, Habana House used to sell a lot of botique cigars but have not been there in several years,   and Wiggy's is a liquor store that sells a few cigars, they have a couple of places in the downtown area.

Says you?
Hey Tony, you have one of these: RoMa Craft Intemperance BA XXI - The Envy
I know I do.  Haven't smoked it yet because I haven't had a good meal in quite some time.  I recall you telling me it wasn't to be taken lightly.

Cool, I'll watch for them on today's jam   :D
I am on top of this list - smoked both  #1 & #2 (personaly I think 2 is better than 1 but both outstanding) but can't say i have ever even heard of 3-5, news travels slow down here I guess.

I thought the Galveston store was wiped out by one of the recent hurricanes and it was about that time that they started in the manufacturing business.
http://www.romacrafttobac.com/
I can't figure out what their game is and they have a crappy website.   That shop was torn up in the hurricane and also Galveston outlawed smoking in public places including cigar shops (that was the only one in town) and it was destined to death anyway. I think they must just use that name and ship out of a warehouse somewhere (perhaps Austin) or something.   I can't find any presence for them in Austin other than they have Austin as one of three locations on their website.  Next time I am in Galveston I will see if there is such a place.
This shows up on their retail locations page as their HQ:
RoMa Craft Tobac World Headquarters
12343 Hymeadow Dr #2H
Austin, TX 78750
That is an office comlex over by Westwood High School
Agree with you about the crappy website.  But according to that, the cigars are available at Pipe World in Round Rock and Austin, Wiggys in Austin and Habana House in Austin.
Easier having them available at Atlantic!  (Also the Paul Garmirian) unlike most web distributors.
...and what the hell is Wiggy's?  Sounds like a head shop.
Wiggy's

I love that my wife finally works for a Corporation.  She came home upset and said, "last week my supervisor wrote on the outside of my pay envelope, "I appreciate that I can always count on you, keep up the great work."  And this week she gave me a bad yearly appraisal...! Welcome to Corporate dear..!
It's obviously because she denied her boss' lesbian advances, at least that's where my head's at
Man, does that remind me of a story.

Well, it all started one night when my boss asked me to stay late and help her with a project. I didn't really feel comfortable because I hadn't worn underwear that day but she insisted...

My boss kept leaning over my desk which made me uncomfortable because she had such large breasts and was wearing a low-cut top, which allowed me a full view of her heaving bosom

Yeah, this couple I know went to a big interesting party.  Over in the corner was a kissing booth.  He thought, "this could be interesting..!"  After a couple of drinks, one of the girls at the party went over and got into the booth.  As he was trying to work up the nerve to go over, three women went up and got into line.  The girls started making out, and I swear, my glasses actually fogged up...!!  Around 11:45 p.m. this couple shows up, and the wife is drunker than hell.  She was a blond, and on a scale of 1 to 10, she was an 8.  When they walked in, all eyes were on her.  About 3/4's of the people at the party knew her, and started welcoming her to the party.  She walked around the room and talked to everyone.  About 45 minutes later, she announced she was leaving, and one of the women ran up and kissed her good bye.  She started going around the whole room, kissing everyone good bye.  I told my wife, "I dare you to kiss her...!"  And as I knew, my wife replied, "you really dare me..?"  Sure I do, because if she comes up to me, I'm kissing the hell out of her.  Sure enough, she reached my wife and give her a really big kiss, basically just short of making out.  I was next... :)  I looked behind us and there was a door leading to the outside.  We went out, and then walked to the front of the building and got back into line.  Sure enough 2nd kisses were coming as she came out.  It's was just one of those funny things you run across every once in awhile.., and I finally got to see my wife kiss another girl. :)

How you corporate boyz think this is going to go????  They shipped us in a new just promoted Number 2 person in charge for TX today and in her introduction here is what she had to say:  "I am educated as a structrual engineer and began my carreer in 1985 as an engineer" ..........  " but I am no longer technical now I am management"
That's very similar to what our new CIO said.  Turns out, he's a dick.
As long as he's not a BIG dick...!
Ours is dickless, I think!
I'm pretty sure ours is too.  Ballless for sure.

A colleague just sent this to me and I thought it was appropriate...

“A Japanese company and a North American company decided to have a canoe race on the St. Lawrence River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The North Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat.

A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the North American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing. So, North American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion.

They advised that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.

To prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team’s management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder.

It was called the”Rowing Team Quality First Program“, with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices, and bonuses.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the North American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments in new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year’s racing team was outsourced to India.”

Retirement seminar was simple and to the point:     We just keep on fuking you so you might as well keep on working till you just die.
Who doesn't like getting fucked around here!?!?!
There's getting fucked and then there's getting fukked!
Usually it's with or without lubrication.   ;D

Well now that you've opened up that can of worms... Am I the only one who gets grossed out about all the spitting that goes on in porn these days?  Sheesh.

Sadly it is very true and appropriate.

Ay yes, the old dickydo, when your belly sticks out farther than your dicky do.  Let's make that a goal.  We'll let the AJ girls be the judge  :o
Whew....I was starting to wonder what tailgate I would have to avoid.

LaBomba's Jamming 10/$35
Yo no soy marinero, soy capitán!
You been drinking or practicing for some CI posting?
Just a dINk or three.
That's what I figured. :)
Ok, dinner time.  Not exactly sure what we're eating though.
I'm making some coconut rice and topping it with some pulled pork I made in the slow cooker the other day.  Just in case you were keeping track.
Save me some leftovers.  That would hit the spot for lunch tomorrow.
It sure would.  And it did.
Bastige!  Guess it's Lean Cuisine for me tomorrow then.
Salad for me.  Gotta get back on track.  Plus the caf in our Jersey office sucks and doesn't offer much else.

Charlie and I are looking to spend the entire day on Friday only.  Can't get the overnight pass.
