What's up cigar enthusiasts?!  Join in this cigar talk with the rest of us and learn something along the way.  Be warned, you will catch hell if you post something everyone doesn't agree with.  And heaven forbid if you should make a grammatical error, you'll be berated with GFYs!  So don't have thin skin and welcome aboard!

A friend has been growing tobacco in a garden and some containers.  He's harvested some leaves and let them age a bit hanging in his garage.  He rolled some "cigars" this weekend.  Then some more today & invited me over so he could roll a couple and we could smoke them, which we did.  Not bad, mild, very airy, rustic roll, but it was pretty amazing smoking home grown tobacky.  Had a CAO torp (had cedar sleeve), an Oliva G Special G maduro petit perfecto.  The "real" professionally rolled cigars were of course superior in taste, draw and burn, but still in a real pinch ... you can have your homegrowns for pennies on the dollar.

The Nightie
-------------------------

A young woman was preparing for her wedding. She asked her mother to go
out and buy a nice long black negligee and carefully place it in her
suitcase so it would not wrinkle. Well, Mom forgot until the last minute.
So she dashed out and could only find a short pink nightie. She bought it
and threw it into the suitcase.

After the wedding the bride and groom enter their hotel room. The groom
was a little self-conscious so he asked his new bride to change in the
bathroom and promise not to peek while he got ready for bed.

While she was in the bathroom, the bride opened her suitcase and saw the
negligee her mother had thrown in there. She exclaimed, "Oh no! It's
short, pink, and wrinkled!"

Then her groom cried out, "I told you not to peek!"

Enjoy yourself I know you luv meetings about as much as I do but meetings are better than the possible alternative that is for damn sure.  I told these azzclowns a couple of years ago if they want to pay me what they do to sit on my ass, drink coffee, eat muffins and surf on my phone then so be it.

Shit ton of meetings today.  May as well attend while they're still paying me.  I'm good until at least November, if I continue to attend.  Lurk mode.

if that company spent less time having meetings you might be able to get some work done and the company might make some money.
It's the new corporate world order Dean that is all any of them do.  The purpose of mid-level management is so the head assholes will have somebody to meet with that has to pretend to give a shit about  what they say.

Have you ever accidentally grabbed a women by the boob...?
there is no 'accidentally' grabbing a woman's breast. imo.
This is true.....

The other day I was thinking, "how many time have I accidentally grabbed a woman by her boob...?"

1st time - Years ago they had installed cubical walls between the employees.  They were about 70 inches high, and just tall enough that you couldn't see over them.  It was 5 O'clock on a Friday, and everyone couldn't wait to get out of the office.  I grabbed my coat and was putting it on, and when I slid my hand down the sleeve, I didn't realize that my arm had extended out beyond the cubical wall and into the aisle.  My hand extended out the end of my sleeve at the same time the secretary was walking by, and I had a full hand of her breast.  I said, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry.  I didn't mean to do that...!"  She just laughed, and thought it was funny because she knew what had happened.

2nd time -  The young lady that sat next to me was having trouble working on a job.  She asked me for my help.  She was sitting at her desk staring at her computer screen as I leaned over her shoulder and was telling her what to enter into her computer.  At one point she didn't understand which entry had to be made.  I told her twice, and then unconsciously, I was pointing my finger at her computer screen and saying, "enter the data right there."  She turned around to look at me, and with my finger extended and pointing at the computer screen, she buried her breast up to about an inch on my finger.  She's actually sitting her with my finger stuck into her boob and asking, "what are you doing...?"  I said, "I was pointing at the computer screen, I didn't know you were going to turn around...?"  I'm not sure if she ever believed me, but it was purely an accident.

3rd time - I was riding the metro link train, and was standing at the end of the last train car with some fellow travelers that all take the train at the same time.  I'm holding onto pole to keep my balance, but the lady next to me is facing forward and leaning back against the same pole.  All of a sudden the train slams it's breaks on, and the woman standing with both her feet together, falls forward just like a tree being chopped down.  Before I knew it, while holding onto the pole with one hand, I instinctively reached out and grabbed her with my other hand.  I caught her as she was about at a 50 degree angle falling forward.  Again, I had a hand full of her breast.  Still holding her breast, I pulled her back up.  I said, "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to grab you there...!!!"  She was very appreciative, and understood.  Without thinking, she said, "you can do that anytime...!"

I am indoors for a couple of weeks other than Friday''s but I am also on reserve call for Jury Duty starting Monday for 10 days.  Nice little front cooled us down a little this morning.

come on BD, where's the stories?
I was side tracked reading about the 3 boobed woman, stupid laws, and duck and goose shit.  :)

Tie it in with the rise of social media.  I know people have always lived about their means, but it's gotten even more out of hand now that people have so many other avenues to show off their possessions.  Used to be just your neighbors, now it's the entire world!  Look at any whiskey group out there, or beer... people seem to collect only to show others that they're collecting.

Oh, it was great!  Love that band, been listening to them since the mid 90s.  Haven't really let that decade go, haha.  Even my Pandora playlists are mixes of country and 90s "alternative".  Got a Jason Aldean concert Thursday, too.  Just a 90s/Country kinda week!

Tat Black for me.  The Capa is the brown label with a Sumatra wrapper, essentially.  He does amazing things with a sumatra, but it's a corona size where the CG size is just on point with my preferences.  Tat Black is also 'milder' than a brown with a Sumatra, lots of good spice, but I like the smoothness of the Black.

The black is my favorite 'regular' production Tatuaje but I also love the brown label in the smaller vitolas. Don't really care for the larger sizes at all (thinking of the Unico/torpedo brown label).

Why don't you two crazy kids just break down and have sex already, give her 45 seconds of hell and send her on her way

45 seconds? I aint never lasted that long in my life.

Just got a Famous Clearance email, some good stuff there but the kicker is Tat Black CG Jars on sale and after catsrule $121.97 shipped

Wow, crazy how cheap those can be had. Morning, Scott.
Morning Joe, ever smoke the 7th Capa Especialle?
GREAT cigar!
That or Black CG? Which do you prefer?
Tat Black for me.  The Capa is the brown label with a Sumatra wrapper, essentially.  He does amazing things with a sumatra, but it's a corona size where the CG size is just on point with my preferences.  Tat Black is also 'milder' than a brown with a Sumatra, lots of good spice, but I like the smoothness of the Black.
Thanks, I may just go with the Capa, I love the punch of the PCR and those sound right up my alley

The black is my favorite 'regular' production Tatuaje but I also love the brown label in the smaller vitolas. Don't really care for the larger sizes at all (thinking of the Unico/torpedo brown label).
Agreed completely...smaller the better with the brown labels...and with the habano, sumatra, etc wrappers-this I prefer as well

I generally think cheap, mild $1-$2 cigars taste like cheap, crap cigars.  Can't be of much help at this specific point in time but some milder cigars I've gotten on sale lately, or as part of closeouts, have been old label Camacho connecticuts, Fuente Chateau Fuente naturals... also look for EPC NWCs on the Jam and load up when they surface.  They're up regularly enough that I'm sure an email/phone call could get you Jam pricing.

ha. Sorry. Almost a subconcious response. Must mean the Banter is taking hold.

Anything you particurly like, or just a general question? Not a mild buyer myself, so I have limited suggestions.

Those E.P. Carrillo Core Short Run '13 Robusto's are 'still' on the clearance rack at cigar.com 10/29.95, but those are probably more Medium

I've definitely been favoring milder cigars recently.  MF Connies are nice but not exactly cheap.  Other milder bodied cigars I've liked (though not necessarily good 'morning cigars' since they tend to be fuller flavored) are Illusione Rothchildes, CyBs, and the Tat Black we've been talking about.  Or ISOKWs.  I don't think anything pairs better with coffee in the morning than a Partagas Short or Ramon Allones SS or any ISOKW.  Not the cheapest cigars ever but also not horrible.

Lot of positive comments on the CLE connie, but once again not really 'cheap'.

quit with the "cheap'!
I asked for DEALS.
ha. by the end of the month I'll have about $3,000 to play with.

Well, I think I'd go with EPC NWCs, then.  I think they're much better than anything else you'll find in that price range, and I'd certainly rather spend the extra buck per stick (Jam pricing) over anything I can think of that goes for $1-$2.

$3,000/$3 each = 1,000 EPC NWCs.  2.74 years of morning cigars if you have one every day.

yes

CB taught you well Grasshopper.

They're up regularly enough that I'm sure an email/phone call could get you Jam pricing.

thanks Joe.

The only AAAs I've had and liked have been the coronas.  I guess the larger sizes are OK but start competing with other cigars I'd rather buy at that price point.

I am not a frequent morning smoker but when I do smoke a morning cigar (usually on vacation and such) I best like a Hemingway Short Story.  Very nice morning cigar and you can sometimes find them on special which is when I buy them..    The LGC Wavell is also a nice morning smoke and those can sometimes be found on special.

Well, it can get rather cold where I am at night in the winter.  Nothing like North Dakota or any of those other nightmare states in the midwest ... or east coast... but still down to mid 30s/low 40s.  Yeah, warm for some places in December but you get used to the climate wherever you are.  And 40 is fucking cold out here.

I did not think you got below the 50's too often.  Not North D cold here either but we get to the 30's in Jan and Feb quite regularly but most days at least gets up into the mid-high 50's.  Get 5-7 days a year in the 20's and an occasional teen's.

They're up regularly enough that I'm sure an email/phone call could get you Jam pricing.

thanks Joe.
I need to stock up on Camacho connies, AF Chateau's, and New Waves, plus a few others. just all filled up with med-full at the present.

but wanted to keep the banter geared towards cigar conversations. ha.

Lot of positive comments on the CLE connie, but once again not really 'cheap'.
CLE Connie Robustos at Famous 5/$19.95 - 15/$50 after coupon

Those are some good options, Fish. I was trying to go more of the Oy price range...

Gross.  Just smoke a Marlboro instead if you're stooping to 5 Vegas Golds.
Right? This coming from a guy who just bought Tat Blacks

can anyone find me a deal on a mild morning cigar?
I am not a frequent morning smoker but when I do smoke a morning cigar (usually on vacation and such) I best like a Hemingway Short Story.  Very nice morning cigar and you can sometimes find them on special which is when I buy them..    The LGC Wavell is also a nice morning smoke and those can sometimes be found on special.

Agreed, those Short Stories are nice.  Had a Short Story maduro over the weekend, that one is definitely in my Top 5.
They are great and I buy  up some when on a good special because while I don't smoke one in the morning that often they make great outdoor winter time smokes, which I know should not be a factor for you!

Just depends on where in the county you live.  I'm in the eastern part which is a bit more desert.  We get both higher and lower temperatures than the more moderate temps along the coast.  It won't be that cold during the day, of course, just a low point at night.  High 60s/low 70s are normal daytime temperatures in the winter.

Well, that's random... Did MMmmmWebber make you get some decent tools before he came over to build you humi?
Had to pick up a set, saves me making 8 passes/board when making these dado cuts on the tower humi.  Last of the tools I need for this project, thank GOD!

You're gonna have over $1000 invested in this before you're done, aren't you?
In raw materials, maybe $750($130 Tiger Maple, $300 Spanish Cedar, $130 in Glass, $50 hardware, $50 draw slides, $50 in misc other hardware(screws, outlet, shelf pins, lights, etc), and $40 in misc other stuff.  $150 for humidification-Oasis Magna

So, really close then. You already have your stain/poly, sandpaper, steelwool and wax?
Yeah, have that stuff - am getting some new pads($15 worth) for my orbital sander.

Just sayin'
Yeah, I thought about it.  Would rather built it myself and have the better quality.  Not saying that won't last a lifetime, but for within 10% I can use better materials and make it nicer.  25,000 cu/ft versus 43,00 cu/ft as well(mine is the 43,00)
Calm down Papa Geppetto, just bustin' balls. Have you forgotten what day it is?

Yeah the table saw is longer to setup but then you can probably cut faster whereas the router is faster to setup and then it's as fast as you can clamp and re-clamp on the next piece(or make a jig)

can anyone find me a deal on a mild morning cigar?

40?  You folks are crying, breaking out gloves hats and coats when it gets below 60!
