Today's Highlight in History:

On September 3, 1939, Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand declared war on Germany, two days after the Nazi invasion of Poland; in a radio address, Britain's King George VI said, "With God's help, we shall prevail." The same day, a German U-boat torpedoed and sank the British liner SS Athenia some 250 miles off the Irish coast, killing more than 100 out of the 1,400 or so people on board.

The Fly
-------------------------

There was a fly buzzing around a barn one day when she happened upon a pile of fresh cow manure. Due to the fact that it had been hours since she had had her last meal, she flew down and began to eat. She ate and ate. Finally, she decided she had eaten enough and tried to fly away. She had eaten too much though, and could not get off the ground. As she looked around wondering what to do, she spotted a pitchfork leaning up against the wall. She climbed to the top of the handle and jumped off, thinking that once she got airborne, she would be able to take flight. Unfortunately she was wrong and she dropped like a rock, and smashed when she hit the floor. Dead!

ARE YOU READY FOR THE MORAL OF THE STORY?

Never fly off the handle when you know you're full of shi*t.

Yes it would be a real surprise to see an exciting Jam again.  I remember they were fun 3 or 4 years ago when things regularly lasted less than 10 minutes and there was different stuff all the time.  I also bought a lot then and sure don't buy much on the Jams anymore.

You sent the family away for two months without you?  And you're just showing up here now?  Oh, you were up to no good, for sure.

Be a money-saving master with El Mejor. This brand has a reputation for quality, flavor, and value, and now I'm bringing that whole value aspect to the next stratosphere. 6 available sizes, priced between $1-$2 per cigar, this is the lowest price these have ever been. All week, I'm giving you a bit of the good stuff and saving you a whole buncha money with El Mejor mazos of 20 starting at just $20.

El Mejor starts with a dark, extra-fermented Cuban-seed Corojo wrapper that's oily, toothy, and brimming with flavor for a rich and complex experience. Underneath this sultry leaf you'll find a robust blend of well-aged, Cuban-seed tobaccos harvested from Nicaragua's most fertile growing regions. This combination promotes a densely flavorful, medium to full-bodied smoke that's layered with notes of earth, richness, hints of coffee, and a sweet, spicy finish. Impressively smooth and chock full of flavor, you'll be savoring the taste of these beauties long after your final puff.

Full of flavor and even more full of savings, El Mejor Torpedos can be yours starting at only $1 apiece. Get 'em while the gettins' good!

Any one want to split a box?

I know you were kidding but on occasion you will find a diamond in the rough.  If the Espressos haven't changed in 5 years, then they are decent and benefit with aging.  Haven't had one in a while and my tastes have definitely changed.  Worth taking the risk at that price?  Absolutely.

I ordered a box of them 3 months ago and they came up backordered. I waited a month and told CICS to cancel the order.

La Bomba's are a touch tempting but do not think they are worth $6.50.  Probably more along the lines of a $4.50-5 smoke to me.

Gladly. We're 1-0 so far. ;)
We are not putting South Carolina in charge this time - besides they done took away all ya'lls shoot'n tools up in those states.
Fuckin GameCocks!
Indeed, but No worry....if East Carolina doesn't get them this weekend, Georgia will finish them off next.

I get a couple of laughs out of that with the Mighty Longhorns off the chart.  Did not see any North Dakota Teams listed either, they must be clad with yellowstars.

I don't know about that....North Dakota State is a pretty feisty team.  Took it to Iowa State last weekend.  Think they've won the D II or whatever it's now called the last few years.

And there's this from ESPN:

Maybe word is getting out, or maybe games versus FCS teams are the last, late-fitting pieces of the scheduling puzzle. Whatever the reason, but as of now, North Dakota State and its five-game winning streak against FBS teams will remain intact for two more seasons. The Bison don't have an FBS opponent on the schedule until a game at Iowa in 2016 and none as yet following 2016, either. It's a compliment, albeit a costly one. North Dakota State made $350,000 for its victory. That's a low payout for that kind of game. Then again, Iowa State learned that, sometimes, a bargain is no bargain at all.

I-State got ramrodded...fun game to watch.  They go up 14-0, then give up and 80 yard run and the floodgates open.

La Bomba's are a touch tempting but do not think they are worth $6.50.  Probably more along the lines of a $4.50-5 smoke to me.
Last time I ordered them on the jam they sent me a full box for $32.50 by mistake

I wish I could lie and say that it's an examble of the general population of the park, but alas, the only 2 females are the park manages wife (225#), and a bull dike nursing assistant.
this park has 71 sites and only 4 are occupied. the owner evicted all the bad elements that had been in here and has spent 6 months cleaning the park up and trying to get established again. sad, it's a nice park, close to great river/gulf fishing, attractions, major cities, shopping etc. but it's ideal for me, I rent a small older model rv for $375/month and pay my own electric. great place to start until I can find a place to settle permanently.

yes they do. you can bring your own camper in but I'll have to get back to you on the rates. she has been giving the people here 2 sites so you're not crowded (ha), so there's room for a car and boat too.

yes they do. you can bring your own camper in but I'll have to get back to you on the rates. she has been giving the people here 2 sites so you're not crowded (ha), so there's room for a car and boat too.
No rush but i would be curious about 2 lots for larger size 5th wheel and parking room for boat in a nice shady spot.   Warden and I are not going to be too much longer working full time ourselves.  I actually may come have a cigar with you sometime pretty soon.

I wish I could lie and say that it's an examble of the general population of the park, but alas, the only 2 females are the park manages wife (225#), and a bull dike nursing assistant.

I have been to nearby Crystal River before and really liked it.  Used to be a bar there with a special "3-Beer Chili".  Named so because it was so damn hot took 3 beers to eat a bowl.  Also right around that general area is where the motley Dreadknots crew operates on AxMen

There are people out there who not only don't like fruit beers, but will go to great lengths to tell you how sacrilegious a concept they believe it to be and how superior they are for only drinking “real beer.” These are among the worst beer drinkers you will ever meet in your lifetime, but at least they won't down your entire six-pack of this lovely summer concoction.

They are not very good, Steve. If it is the same blend as before. Some people loved them--lounge Lizard liked them a lot.

I had my first one a week or so ago and was impressed, good little smoke. For the $$ it's a little spendy, but it's up there in quality with many of the $4-5 cubans.

They are not very good, Steve. If it is the same blend as before. Some people loved them--lounge Lizard liked them a lot.
Good afternoon Ken , I was Kidding, about buying some .

True, last year they would not last 5 min.

I was looking at some of the Asylum 13's on the mash earlier 'cause that is what they show Brian Cox smoking on Hard Knocks. The 6x80 shape is listed as "large cigar". Just though it was funny. Oh, well.

Tiff was OK, but Chuck was outstanding.  The set is no bargain, but if you like Tatuaje, the journey through the assortment is a fun one.  No crap to deal with, but a number of different styles and presentations.  I also suggest smoking them all over the course of one week or so, so you can really compare and contrast.  A nice cigar "flight" if you will.

Are the Pudgies worth it Shaun? I think you tried many of them?
I just finished the Littles, haven't had any of the pudgies besides Tiff and Chuck...Chuck was AWESOME!  I hear the Pudgies getting better reviews due to them tasting more like the original monsters since they share the same vitola but the length of the Littles.
Ok I thought your reviews were of the Pudgies, they're showing up on sale at cigarking also but for $85
Was that were you saw the La Sirena Sea Sprites last week?
http://www.tobaccogeneral.com/la-sirena-corona-sea-sprite-4446-prd1.htm

These the ones with the band that covers almost the entire cigar?
Yes...yes it is

Used to see them on the Jam occasionally, but I have yet to try one. Have to put it on the list.

Phil from Duck Dynasty getting some nice media again...'convert them or kill them' with regards to radical Islamic groups.

Someone who has no issue voicing his opinion... Probably won't get as much press as the gay quotes, I'm sure.
Then again, he's just repeating their quotes, right?  .....and nobody gives them any grief for voicing that belief.
At least he kept everyone's head on when voicing his opinion!

Well, it stands to reason that he'd want to give them a chance to change, since he'd come off like a big hypocrite if he didn't change his own life to reflect his religious beliefs... He has cleaned himself up a lot from what he used to be.
I watched and interview he did once when he came clean about a lot of his past, woof...crazy.

I was asked, but I don't want a job. the owner has a new young couple but I doubt they will last long. there's alot of work that can be done for an ambitious couple, which these aren't to make this park look real nice. I won't do plumbing or electric or work on the pool system, but I'd mow, trim, cut brush, sweep, build, etc.

Deano, if you use the Tapatalk app to access CigarBanter it will resize the photo for you.  At least it does with Android, I assume the same with iPhone.  Takes a little while getting used to and the avvys are real small but it works great.

Open the picture and you should be able to get to a menu to click edit.  Then you should see something that either says adjustment or resize.  If adjustment click that then you should see resize.
